Chapter 30: Chapter 30 Second Confrontation (1)

By the next day, before Gu’s mother and father had returned home, Su Yixia had left. According to Su Yixia, she was still upset by her own brother’s behavior, unable to calm down enough to continue dealing with her irrational sibling.

Gu Nuan thought that if Su Yixia hadn’t studied finance, the losses wouldn’t have seemed so painful. After all, Su Yixia understood the investment value of commodities better than the average person, and knowingly engaging in a loss-making deal was akin to self-inflicted harm.

Of course, Su Yixia’s second purpose for coming all this way to see her, Gu Nuan, aside from feeling guilty about what had happened with Wa Zicong, primarily valued her friendship with Gu Nuan. She didn’t want to lose her.

"Goodbye!" Su Yixia waved vigorously at Gu Nuan as she jumped into the car.

As the long-distance bus slowly departed, the radiant gaze of the beautiful Su Yixia gradually faded away, leaving only a pair of eyes that had been fixated on Gu Nuan since yesterday.

Having spent the night thinking, Gu Nuan had realized money was never easily attained. If it were, billionaires would be common. No one would suffer for lack of food over money.

Waiting for the baby-faced man to come over, she noticed upon closer examination that he seemed even more luxuriously dressed than she had observed the day before.

Not only was he handsome and well-dressed, but his suit, hand-tailored, she conservatively estimated, must have cost him at least several hundred thousand.

Such people buying the Haunted House for three hundred thousand truly showed that the seller — blinded to even the value of the clothes they wore.

Zang Xiaolian smiled gently, with his eyes narrowed like crescents, as he saw Gu Nuan staring at the pen in his suit pocket. He said, "Miss Gu, Mr. Qiao would like you to come over to discuss the contract in person." Then, remembering she might not hear him, he pulled out a steel pen from his pocket and wrote a few words on a notebook he carried.

After writing, he showed it to her.

Gu Nuan scanned it briefly and asked, "Are we going to the same house?"

"Yes, Mr. Qiao hasn’t left." After saying this, Zang Xiaolian gestured to the driver to bring the car over that was to take her.

It was a beautiful white Bentley, driving down the main road, standing out like a well-kept poodle owned by a wealthy person.

Zang Xiaolian opened the rear car door for her. Gu Nuan got in.

The Bentley headed toward the Haunted House.

This move clearly went unnoticed by the actual owner of the property. These people had approached her directly, without considering involving the true owner. Gu Nuan tentatively concluded this in the car.

Logically speaking, the real landowner should have been contacted for a more direct approach, but they did not do so, probably having clear visibility on the situation. Without removing Gu Nuan, the stumbling block, they feared they could not deal easily with the actual owner.

With this psychological preparation, Gu Nuan, of course, braced herself for a tough fight ahead.

Upon reaching the foot of the hill beneath the Haunted House where the car couldn’t drive further, Gu Nuan got out and climbed up the mountain path. Zang Xiaolian and the driver followed her. At the gateway, just like the day before, Li Sitong opened the iron gate for her.

Once Gu Nuan stepped through the gate, she naturally looked up at the upstairs window. This time, the curtain was drawn halfway, revealing a tall white figure standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.

An elegant silver-striped shirt, grey trousers interspersed with silver threads, and a pair of eye-pleasing white leather shoes adorned his feet.

His ink-black bangs curved slightly upward, his eyes, exceptionally attractive, held a complex hue as they gazed downward, as if overseeing all below him.
