Chapter 240: Chapter 240 Similar Faces: Sisters and Brothers (8)
Mentioning such a minor illness as a throat inflammation had prompted Tang Sili to make a house call, and Ou Yanan’s brow, just as before, lightly furrowed, but he dared not contradict Tang Sili to his face again.
Tang Sili had already reprimanded him once before for this.
The doors to the operating room swung open again, and out rushed an anesthesiologist, drenched in sweat, pleading again with Tang Sili, "Professor Tang, please go in quickly. Doctor Su is out of options—"
Even with such urging, Tang Sili still sauntered slowly into the operating room, with Ou Yanan following behind him, peering over his shoulder into the room.
At first glance, the sight was indeed shocking.
This was no longer the clean, orderly, and calm operating room, but had turned into a slaughterhouse.
Doctor Su Yide’s surgical gown was splattered with large patches of blood, the blood that had spurted from the patient’s abdominal cavity when he had opened it, staining him.
Furthermore, this clearly indicated that the patient’s severe blood loss, far from improving after Doctor Su Yide began the operation, had in fact worsened considerably.
Around the operating table, whether the anesthesiologist, the nurses, or Doctor Su Yide’s assistant, all displayed a look of horror in their eyes.
In their view, the patient lying on the operating table seemed doomed under Doctor Su Yide’s knife.
"Doctor Su."
"Who?" Su Yide, hands busy stuffing gauze into the bleeding abdominal cavity of the patient and covered in sweat beads, simply couldn’t attend to anything else.
"Doctor Su, please stop, are you trying to kill the patient?"
"Kill? I am trying to save the patient!" Su Yide suddenly looked up, noticing Tang Sili standing at the entrance to the operating room. His eyes widened in surprise, "What are you doing here?"
"Do you even need to ask?" Tang Sili’s leisurely tone never changed, "The dean was afraid you’d kill his esteemed client’s patient, so he called me over."
"The dean would never do that!" Su Yide shouted at Tang Sili.
Tang Sili clearly flinched at the volume of his voice and then slightly furrowed his brow, instructing someone nearby, "Let Doctor Su hear the dean’s call."
Su Yide’s eyes suddenly shifted as he watched a nurse bring over the phone, a look of fear appearing on his face.
Over the phone, a man’s voice came through, "Doctor Su, hand it over to Professor Tang from here. It’s my fault, I only thought about you being on duty, without considering, with your capabilities—"
"No, dean, I can—I can save the patient soon—" Su Yide insisted, yet his voice trembled. The blood under his hands was like a river, flowing down his clothes, about to drip onto his white socks.
"Doctor Su." The other party had to emphasize, "Hand it over to Professor Tang, this is my order. You should know, if you step down now, I won’t tell anyone you operated on this patient. But if the patient dies on this operating table, I don’t think I can save you, think it over."
Undoubtedly, these last words were more persuasive. Su Yide took a step back from the direction of the operating table.
The people originally in the operating room seeing that Su Yide had made room couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"Doctor Ou, you take Doctor Su’s place," Tang Sili instructed the assistant.
Ou Yanan then moved to the opposite side of the operating table, standing where Su Yide had just been.
