Su Yide quickly pretended to check his watch, while asking, "Doesn’t Dr. Tang need to sleep?"

"He’s on duty tonight. Though it seemed like a patient came to see him just now."

"Do you know what patient it was?"

"No, Dr. Tang said he didn’t need a nurse’s help."

"Has this patient visited Dr. Tang before?"

"How could I remember so many?" the nurse asked with a laugh. "Dr. Su, you seem quite concerned about Dr. Tang. Aren’t you off duty tonight?"

Su Yide’s expression turned sour.

That was to be expected. Today, the results for the professional title evaluation had been announced earlier than scheduled, confirming the promotion to associate professor, but his name wasn’t on the list—only Tang Sili’s was.

Because of this, a leader had patted Su Yide on the shoulder and said earnestly, "You were so close, you need to keep trying. Don’t be discouraged; it will be much easier for you next time without him competing. It will be your turn then."
