Chapter 113: Chapter 113 Mrs. Xiao’s Identity Begins to Be Exposed (9)
This Dr. Tang, she had glanced at the work badge on his chest earlier, which read Associate Professor of Surgery.
So young and yet so talented, he had risen to associate professor so quickly. Definitely at the level of a top doctor.
If she were Dr. Tang, she would be indifferent too. Gu Nuan thought this was perfectly normal.
However, someone stubbornly disagreed, following behind Dr. Tang who had just finished the diagnosis and was about to prescribe some oral medication, warning, "Are you sure she doesn’t need an injection?"
Did this Xiao someone really hope she would get an injection?!
Gu Nuan wanted to roll her eyes.
Truth be told, dealing with relatives of patients like Xiao someone wasn’t something the average doctor could withstand under tremendous pressure.
Xiao someone, however, was a person of wealth and power.
Dr. Tang, who appeared talented and confident, even had to patiently explain to Xiao someone, "Generally, if a disease can be solved with medication, there is no need for an injection, which isn’t good for the patient’s body. If Mr. Xiao is very worried, she can stay in the hospital for observation overnight. I am on duty here tonight."
Stay in the hospital for a minor illness?
Gu Nuan sat up from the hospital bed, preparing to get off it.
Xiao someone had money and power, hence no clue. He didn’t realize how scarce hospital beds in big hospitals were, akin to gold. He hadn’t seen the scenes where ordinary folks had to queue overnight just to treat an illness.
Of course, that said, she could understand his concern for her.
"Let’s go back, I can’t sleep well here," Gu Nuan said, putting on her shoes and speaking to him.
Dr. Tang, hearing her say this, glanced at her a few extra times.
Once Gu Nuan had left, the expression on Xiao Yebai’s face had completely changed from when Gu Nuan was there.
The indifferent face of Dr. Tang tightened a bit as he stood up and asked, "Does Mr. Xiao have any instructions?"
Xiao Yebai looked at him coldly and said, "She can hardly hear out of one ear while the other can hear a bit. What’s the situation with that?"
"Deaf?"
It was apparent that even the doctor was surprised to discover that Gu Nuan was deaf.
She seemed too normal in her everyday behavior.
After his surprise, Dr. Tang pondered seriously before saying, "If it’s both ears differently affected, it’s unlikely to be drug-induced deafness, more like traumatic deafness."
Xiao Yebai took another look at his associate professor badge on his chest and said, "You know what to do with this matter."
Dr. Tang caught the meaning in his gaze, nodded and assured, "Don’t worry, I wouldn’t divulge any patient’s privacy, even if she weren’t brought by Mr. Xiao."
Xiao Yebai merely seemed to passively withdraw his gaze at that statement.
Gu Nuan walked out of the room and saw Zang Xiaolian sitting on a bench in the corridor.
Seeing her come out alone, Zang Xiaolian asked, "Didn’t Second Brother accompany sister-in-law?"
"He had some questions to ask the doctor."
No sooner had she finished speaking than Xiao Yebai walked out, appearing as though bouncing along to follow her, his hands reaching out to wrap around her waist, "You’re too anxious. The doctor said it’s best for you to be admitted."
Gu Nuan turned her head and glared at him: never serious.
Xiao Yebai nudged Zang Xiaolian with his lips, "He’s prescribed the medication, you go directly to the pharmacy and get your sister-in-law’s medicine."
"Okay," Zang Xiaolian responded and hurried off.
Gu Nuan pulled his hand from her waist and warned him with a look.
Xiao someone reluctantly withdrew his hand, helping her press the elevator button.
Gu Nuan followed behind him, and after just a few steps, suddenly felt as if someone’s gaze was fixed on her from behind.
