Ch. 128 - The Equipment Room

The PE teacher was dumbfounded, seeing the distance Ye Chuan had thrown the shot put. 

He repeatedly checked the landing spot, and after confirming that he hadn't been mistaken, he felt his worldview shatter.

With that posture, how could he throw it so far?

Purely brute strength?

Was he a farmer or something?

"Teacher, any problems?" Ye Chuan's voice snapped the PE teacher back to reality. After all, he had said that anyone who could throw the shot put twenty meters would be exempt from the physical test.

Ye Chuan didn't know the proper technique for shot put, so he had just thrown it like he would throw anything else.

There was no special technique, just pure, unadulterated strength.

"Young man, are you interested in becoming an athlete?!" the PE teacher asked immediately. 

This was a seven-kilogram shot put; this guy had thrown it thirty or forty meters!

He could break the world record!

"Not interested," Ye Chuan said, twitching his lips. He seemed to have accidentally thrown it too far, even though he had used very little strength.

"No, you are interested!" the PE teacher said, gripping Ye Chuan's shoulder, his eyes gleaming.

"You're very interested!!!"

"I'll be your coach, let's reach the pinnacle of athleticism together!"

After finally escaping the PE teacher's clutches, Ye Chuan received his exemption from the physical test.

"That was troublesome, I shouldn't have thrown it so far," Ye Chuan thought. He felt like the other students were looking at him strangely, as if he were a monster.

Someone even said, "No wonder the Taekwondo Club members were no match for him, he could kill a cow with one punch!"

"Chuan Chuan!" Luo Xi rushed over, also in disbelief. "How did you throw it so far?"

"I've started cultivating, soon I'll be able to shatter mountains with a single move," Ye Chuan said, making a hand gesture.

"You're saying that again. What will you say next? That you can fly?" Luo Xi said, rolling her eyes. She felt that Ye Chuan was always making things up.

Ye Chuan chuckled.

He really could fly, though.

"Where did you get that ice cream?" Ye Chuan noticed the ice cream in Luo Xi's hand. The physical test wasn't even over yet.

"Oh, Xiaoyu bought it for me," Luo Xi said with a grin. She hadn't believed he could throw the shot put that far.

Ye Chuan, looking at the half-eaten ice cream, said, "Give me a bite."

"Here… hey, leave some for me!"

"Then give me a kiss, and we'll call it even."

"Ew, gross."

With ten minutes left before the end of class, Luo Xi and Ye Chuan borrowed a basketball from the equipment room and started playing with their classmates on the nearby court.

"Dribble." Luo Xi dribbled the ball skillfully, easily dodging two classmates trying to defend her, and then shot a three-pointer!

The ball swished through the net.

"Yay!" Luo Xi grinned and made a peace sign, eliciting cheers from the surrounding girls.

"So cool, class president!"

"Wow, XiXi, you're the best!"

"Awesome three-pointer!"

Ye Chuan, watching from a distance, was amused that Luo Xi already had fan girls after just starting university.

Well, she did look quite cool while playing basketball, and she had a great personality, no wonder she was so popular.

Near the end of class, the PE teacher gathered the students. After taking attendance, the class would be dismissed.

"Someone needs to return the equipment to the equipment room," the PE teacher said, glancing at the attendance list. "Who's the class president?"

"Me!" Luo Xi immediately raised her hand.

"Then take someone with you and return the equipment. Make sure you don't miss anything," the teacher said.

"Okay," Luo Xi nodded, then beckoned to Ye Chuan. "Chuan Chuan, let's go."

Ye Chuan didn't mind and followed Luo Xi, pushing the cart filled with equipment.

As they walked towards the equipment room, Ye Chuan noticed that Luo Xi was subtly trying to keep her distance from him, as if hiding something.

"Why are you so far away?" Ye Chuan asked, raising an eyebrow.

Was she afraid of being seen with him?

She shouldn't be that shy.

"Oh… nothing," Luo Xi said, averting her gaze, clearly hiding something.

Ye Chuan: ?

"I'll spank you," he threatened.

"Don't… I'll tell you," Luo Xi's face flushed slightly. 

Seeing Ye Chuan raise his hand, she mumbled, "I just played basketball, I'm a bit sweaty, I don't want you to smell it."

"That's it?"

"What do you mean 'that's it'?" As soon as Luo Xi finished speaking, Ye Chuan walked over, put his arm around her waist, and nuzzled his face against her neck, inhaling deeply.

"?!" The girl's face turned crimson.

"You don't smell bad, you smell nice," Ye Chuan said.

"Jerk," Luo Xi mumbled, but seeing that he didn't mind her sweat, she moved closer, and they continued walking towards the equipment room.

The equipment room was filled with various sports equipment. 

Luo Xi put the basketballs back in their designated place, while Ye Chuan filled out the return form.

Both borrowing and returning equipment required filling out a form to keep track of the inventory.

As Luo Xi looked up, she noticed a basket slightly out of place on a shelf and reached out to push it back.

As she pushed the basket, something shifted on the shelf, and a small box fell down.

Straight towards Luo Xi's face!

"?!" It happened so fast that Luo Xi instinctively raised her hands to protect herself, closing her eyes.

But the expected impact didn't come. Luo Xi opened her eyes and saw a strong hand holding the falling box.

Ye Chuan's other hand was on the shelf, his face very close to hers.

"Why are you so clumsy?" he asked, a playful smile on his lips.

"I… it was an accident," Luo Xi said, blushing, and looking away.

Then, she grabbed the hem of Ye Chuan's shirt. "Chuan Chuan, I'm sorry."

Seeing his childhood sweetheart acting cute, Ye Chuan couldn't help but smile. 

He released a bit of his spiritual energy, and the equipment room door slammed shut with a bang.

"Why did the door close?" Luo Xi asked, surprised.

"Who knows? Maybe it was the wind," Ye Chuan said, feigning surprise, and turned to look at the door with her.
