Ch. 127 - Physical Test

Ye Chuan changed into his gym clothes in the locker room.

Perhaps because of the previous duel with Huang Haotian, he attracted quite a few glances as he changed, especially now that his skin was healthy and glowing after taking the Marrow Cleansing Pill, his muscles well-defined, his physique eye-catching.

There weren't any girls around, though.

But since Huang Haotian wasn't coming to school anymore, Ye Chuan could enjoy some peace and quiet.

After changing into his gym clothes, Ye Chuan went to the sports field.

The weather was nice. Walking on the track, he could smell the faint scent of rubber and the fresh grass from the nearby soccer field.

"Ha," Ye Chuan yawned and stretched.

"Chuan, we have a physical test today, you didn't forget, right?" a familiar boy said with a smile.

He was small and skinny, a classmate from middle school, someone Ye Chuan occasionally chatted with.

Ye Chuan had always been relatively popular, but after entering university, his close friends were in different classes, and with his irregular schedule and declining health, he hadn't interacted much with his new classmates.

He had mostly been focused on just staying alive.

"A physical test? I should be able to get a perfect score," Ye Chuan grinned.

He was at the peak of Foundation Establishment; getting a perfect score on a physical test would be a piece of cake.

"So confident?"

"Of course."

After chatting for a bit, Ye Chuan saw Luo Xi in the distance.

She was tall and slender, wearing a tracksuit, her long, white legs and high ponytail bouncing with energy.

Luo Xi was very popular at school. Several girls were gathered around her, chatting and laughing.

"Chuan Chuan," Luo Xi called out, waving at him.

Ye Chuan walked over, and said, "I just heard from Zhou Tai that we have a physical test today."

Zhou Tai was the skinny classmate he had just been talking to. Luo Xi poked Ye Chuan's face. "Chuan Chuan, you didn't know about the physical test today?"

"Nope."

"You should pay attention in class, that's not good," Luo Xi said, putting her hands on her hips, as if scolding him.

But in the next second, Ye Chuan blew gently on her ear, making her shiver and giggle. "Eek! Stop it!"

Just then, the bell rang, and the PE teacher quickly gathered the class. 

Since it was a physical test, the boys and girls were separated.

"We're having a physical test today. Same rules as always, after a few events, you can have free time," the PE teacher announced, then listed the available events for the students to choose from.

"University students these days, sitting all day, either playing games or watching videos, that's not good, your bodies will deteriorate quickly," the teacher said. Ye Chuan looked at the available events.

Long jump, short-distance running, long-distance running, high jump… and so on.

"Gather here after you've made your choices."

"Chuan Chuan, what did you choose?" Luo Xi asked, curious.

"Shot put, sprint, and high jump," Ye Chuan said casually. 

He preferred shorter events; he didn't want to waste time.

He then asked Luo Xi, "What about you?"

"Sprint, long-distance run, and long jump!" Luo Xi grinned, revealing her pearly white teeth. She was quite athletic, so the physical test wasn't a problem for her.

"So… speaking of which, where's An Shiyu?" Ye Chuan asked, not seeing her.

"She's pretending to be sick," Luo Xi said.

"Tsk, such a lazybones," Ye Chuan wasn't surprised. He didn't mind and started preparing for the test.

After waiting in line for a while, it was Ye Chuan's turn for the shot put.

Many students were watching; after all, Ye Chuan had become quite famous recently, and everyone wanted to see how far he could throw.

"Six meters to pass, eleven meters for a perfect score, any questions?" The PE teacher glanced at Ye Chuan's name and explained the rules.

Ye Chuan picked up the shot put, which weighed about five kilograms, but felt light in his hands. He weighed/estimated it and asked, "Teacher, what if I throw it twenty meters?"

"..." The PE teacher looked at him as if he were an idiot. "Twenty meters is the Olympic standard. If you can throw it that far, you're exempt from all future physical tests."

"Oh, okay." Hearing the answer he wanted, Ye Chuan took his position.

Meanwhile, Luo Xi and a group of students were watching Ye Chuan from a distance.

"How far can Chuan Chuan throw it?" Luo Xi wondered.

"With those skinny arms and legs, who knows?" a voice said beside her, and Luo Xi turned to see An Shiyu standing there, leaning on a crutch.

"Xiaoyu, what's…"

"Just a prop," An Shiyu said, tapping the crutch against her "injured" leg. 

"I'm never taking a physical test, not in this lifetime."

Luo Xi: "..."

She was going to such lengths to avoid the test?

"Xiaoyu, you don't think Chuan Chuan can throw it far?" Luo Xi asked.

"Although I don't know how he suddenly became so strong, strength doesn't just magically appear," An Shiyu said, not optimistic about Ye Chuan's performance.

"If he can throw it over eight meters, I'll buy you ice cream."

"I believe in Chuan Chuan."

"Believe~ in~ Chuan~ Chuan~," An Shiyu shrugged. "That's what love does to you."

"I'm not lovestruck!"

Ye Chuan stood at the starting line, looked at the PE teacher, estimated the force needed to throw the shot put twenty meters, and casually tossed it.

"His posture is all wrong…" The PE teacher, seeing Ye Chuan's throwing motion, started to say something, but then froze.

The shot put flew like a cannonball, landing with a thud!

"How far?!"

"Thirty or forty meters?"
