Chapter 305: Chapter 292: Homicidal Maniac (Four)
The door was kicked open and Xiao Nan walked in as if nothing had happened, followed closely by Boss Xiao Yu, who, despite still being shaken, hurried after the two.
As soon as he entered the room, he saw the large cross in the middle, with thick, rust-streaked steel bars stuck into the ground, creating a strong visual impact. Just thinking about that thing spinning 360 degrees, and imagining how the person on it would be twisted, made his stomach churn. He quickly lumbered over with his chubby body, wobbling around the cross and knocking on it, but it was welded so firmly that it wouldn’t budge no matter how hard he tried.
By this time, Jingjing had been roused back to consciousness by the sound of the door being smashed. She slowly opened her eyes.
"What are you doing?" she asked coldly, eyeing Xiao Yu with what seemed to be disgust, like looking at trash. However, this wasn’t because she actually loathed fat nerds, but rather Jingjing naturally exuded an aura of "keep away," which oddly enough attracted a whole group of masochistic nerds, making her extremely popular in the shop.
Uh... seems like we’re getting sidetracked, let’s get back to the point.
The chubby store owner, when asked this way, didn’t know what to say for a while, even though he was aware that the girl in front of him was out of the ordinary. In daily life, she never showed any abnormalities, so in Xiao Yu’s mind, Jingjing was still just a girl who would be horrified upon learning the truth.
But looking at Jingjing, she had already subconsciously moved her limbs upon seeing her boss’s cowardly demeanor, and that’s when she realized she was tied to the steel cross. Then she took in her surroundings, the tools in the hands of the three people in front of her, and the smashed iron door beside her.
"I’ve been abducted?" she asked directly, her tone still calm.
This time, Xiao Nan answered her.
"Oh, we’ve all been abducted by a psychotic murderer. I’m supposed to die by being bitten by rats, and you’re probably going to be twisted in half," she replied, as casually as if discussing the weather.
Meanwhile, Chen Xiao took this opportunity to circle around the cross, "Hmm, no external screws, the joints are all recessed, tightly sealed. Seems impossible to dismantle. The shackles on the wrists and ankles are thin, but forcing them would definitely injure someone; better not resort to brute force unless there’s no other choice... Mm! Although the guy’s ideas are pretty cliché, the workmanship on each prop is actually quite impressive..."
Boss Xiao Yu, looking at the three of them, one big and two small, turned pale, "Hey!! Are you really only 15 years old? How come you’re calmer than some old fart waiting for death??!! And you, what’s with the critiquing, it’s almost as if you’re praising the workmanship, what the hell! Hurry up and think of a way to save us!!!"
Chen Xiao, clearly peeved, nonchalantly fished out an earwax, "Oh, got it!" he said listlessly, waving his hand at the other person, "You, move over a bit..."
Hearing this, Boss Xiao Yu stepped back.
Suddenly, a gust swept through, and Chen Xiao swung the large ax towards the cross. The glint of the blade flashed in front of Xiao Yu’s eyes, making him feel like a smaller step would have cost him his nose.
The ax strike was so unexpected that he let out a reflexive cry, but before the sound could escape his throat, the fire ax collided with the steel cross causing a loud CLANG, silencing Xiao Yu’s scream.
Chen Xiao had used all his strength in that ax blow, but the handle simply bounced off, the recoil numbing his arms all the way up to his shoulders. The ax itself was bent out of shape, but Chen Xiao, seemingly ignoring his nearly numb arms, twisted his body and struck the cross again with even more force. However, the ax slipped from his hands, spun through the air, and slammed against the wall, making onlookers’ hearts jump.
"Hm, seems like it won’t break," he said, shaking his hands. Those two strikes seemed to have sapped all the strength from his arms...
The echo in the basement hadn’t yet dissipated when Boss Xiao Yu was scared into trembling by this sudden, neurotic behavior, taking a good while to recover.
"Damn it, damn... DAMNIT! Can’t you give a heads up?"
Chen Xiao blinked emptily, "Huh? Didn’t I tell you to step aside a bit?"
"But the damn gap between notifying and acting was too short, wasn’t it? If I were any slower, my head would’ve been chopped off, OK?!!!!"
"Oh, don’t make such a fuss, isn’t your head still attached?" Chen Xiao waved his hand impatiently and then directly ignored the other person. He turned to Xiao Nan and asked, "Can’t smash it open, what now? Got anything more powerful, like a focused laser weapon or something?"
"How could I possibly have something like that... even my previous self would have struggled to imagine such high-tech stuff," Xiao Nan responded irritably.
By now, more than ten minutes had passed, and it looked like Jingjing was about to be twisted into a pretzel.
Just then
"Alright, let me try myself..." Jingjing said coldly.
"Huh? What do you want to try?" Xiao Yu asked in confusion.
No sooner had the words left his mouth than he saw Jingjing take a deep breath, hold it in, her fists tightly clenched and turning white. She was obviously using tremendous strength...
A girl not even one and a half meters tall striking such a pose, especially in front of the thick steel bars behind her, really looked incongruous. However, as she moved, the irons clamping her hands began to emit a grating noise.
Seeing this, Xiao Yu could hardly believe his eyes and pointed at Jingjing in horror, unable to speak clearly.
Jingjing, of course, had no intention of bothering with this fat otaku who hadn’t seen much of the world. She fiercely bent her head down and thrust her whole body forward with all her might. Meanwhile, the screws embedded in the metal sheets finally began to loosen with clicking noises.
"Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh—HAH!"
With a roar that seemed not to have left puberty, one of her wrist shackles busted open with a "bang", and several screws shot out like bullets to the opposite wall, creating a shower of sparks. Jingjing freed one hand, grabbed the other shackle, let out a deep shout, and with a snap, she tore it off as well. Then, with a quick duck, she snapped the shackles on her feet as if they were thin wooden boards with two "clack clacks".
"Done..." she said still in her indifferent tone, casually tossing the metal clamps onto the floor: "Haven’t used my strength in so long, didn’t expect to be so much weaker than before..."
She flexed her slightly whitened hand, clearly unsatisfied.
