Even Second Brother, who was recognized by the team as the one who knew the terrain best, was unaware of the preparations the Boss had made.

The Boss had planned in advance: if they were together, they would take another route over the mountain, but if he was alone, he would go to this steep cliff and use the ropes to descend.

With a protective helmet secured, he dared not turn on the light. Even though he bumped into the rock wall many times, with snow and small stones falling from above, fortunately, it wasn’t anything serious.

Bearing the pain, he descended to the predetermined spot, moved to another place, and continued down. Lying in the snow, he used night vision goggles to scan the surroundings, found a path covered by snow, and after walking for a while, he saw the road.

There was a car parked there, not knowing how long it had been there, and its windows were layered with snow.

He approached, breathing heavily, and knocked on the car door.

"Who is it?!" The person inside asked guardedly.

"It’s me, Fourth Brother, Six Brother, open the door quick!"

The car door opened.

"Boss?!"

The two inside showed surprise, looking past the Boss to see if there were others, but they didn’t see anyone else.

"Where are Second Brother, Third Brother, and Fifth Brother?" one of them asked.

"Don’t turn on the lights! Let’s talk inside," the Boss said as he got into the car and pulled the door shut.

The curtains inside the car were drawn, and the light inside was turned on.

The warmth in the car made his face, stiff from the blizzard, slightly warmer.

"Boss, what happened? Why are you coming at this time?" the other couldn’t help asking.

According to their plans, the rest were supposed to arrive the next day during daylight, and then they would all leave together.

The Boss’s expression was grim: "Someone sneaked over, Second Brother, Third Brother, and Fifth Brother have been taken down."

"People from the authorities? Or someone else?"

"Don’t know, but they were skilled; even Fifth Brother couldn’t hold them off."

As he spoke, the Boss’s gaze was sorrowful, his face twisted in conflict, and his eyes filled with profound reluctance.

Hearing this, the two in the car were thrown into panic.

With his fingers tightening around the hunting rifle, Six Brother said, "Shall we drive off now?"

The Boss mused in silence, and after warming up a bit, finally spoke, "We can’t turn on the car lights, too easy to be spotted!"

The weather and it being night made it difficult to travel, and this road wasn’t very safe. Driving slowly on the road also made them easy to spot. It was better to walk; if anything went wrong, they could hide at any moment.

The geographical environment here was different from the other side; it was more desolate there, but here the further forward they went, the more trees there were.

They had left other cars in a forest five kilometers away.

"Then let’s not take the car and just walk over. Boss, there’s no time to lose, let’s leave now? Anyway, we have night vision goggles in the car, we can travel at night," said Six Brother.

Four Brother frowned. He looked like an honest and simple countryman, seemingly lacking in scheming, and usually, he didn’t have a strong presence in the small group.

The Boss patted his shoulder, "Remember my words." He didn’t say anything more, he and Six Brother packed up and left the car quickly.

Watching them walk away, Four Brother looked around cautiously, closed the car door, and exhaled a long breath.
