Chapter 544: Chapter 357 Friendly_1

At a region near a certain continental shelf, maritime airflows are active, and a storm is brewing.

The sky gradually darkened, and the waves began to grow fierce and wild.

Many fishing boats had already returned to port, but some had not managed to get back in time.

In the diving areas close to shore, the fish catch is usually not significant, prompting some adventurous boats to venture farther out where fish are plentiful, but the weather is also more unpredictable.

Just like now, with the coming storm, it’s uncertain if every vessel can return to safety in time.

The stacked clouds in the sky loomed closer, rendering even the most majestic skyscrapers between heaven and earth utterly insignificant in comparison.

At times like these, people couldn’t help but wonder: Can humanity really influence this planet itself?

People often say "The emperor’s anger slays a million men."

But if the planet under our feet truly became furious, it would likely spell a mass extinction event on a global scale.

Even just a small disturbance can make people feel its capriciousness.

The clouds in the sky seemed like they were about to collapse, darkening the light.

Beneath the mighty forces of heaven and earth, the fishing boat swayed in the stormy sea, like a toy in the hands of a giant, utterly powerless.

The continuously rising waves seemed intent on shattering the vessels.

A crew member, urgently moving items on deck, slipped due to the rocking of the boat.

A wave crashed over him, sweeping away the unfortunate crewman.

"Captain! Man overboard!"

"Hold the helm steady!"

"Where is he?"

"Can’t see! We can’t find him!"

Even though they wanted to rescue him, they simply couldn’t see where the crew member had gone.

Hysterical shouts, beneath the roaring waves, appeared feeble and powerless. The stinging splash of water on their faces hurt.

They knew that in such conditions, being engulfed by the waves, the chances of a successful rescue were extremely slim.

Another huge wave struck, crashing onto the deck.

When the water receded, it left a person on the deck.

It was the crew member they had just lost.

Everyone: ?!!

They quickly pulled the person inside the boat for treatment. He was still breathing, gradually regaining consciousness.

"Ahahaha, you’re really lucky!" a crew member laughed.

The man who was rescued also felt incredibly fortunate. When the waves pulled him under, he thought his life was over. No matter how he struggled beneath the tumult of the waves, it was in vain, and his consciousness began to blur.

But who could have imagined, in a daze, he was tossed back onto the deck!

At that moment, he only felt a force lifting him upwards, and by the time he came to his senses, he was already crashing onto the deck with the waves.

"God bless!"

Everyone, including the man who fell overboard, considered it a miraculous stroke of luck.

Elsewhere, a slightly smaller fishing boat, amidst the thunderous roar of thunder and churning waves, waited for rescue.

Above, a rescue helicopter found their position and lowered a rescue basket.

After much effort, the helicopter had lifted most of the fishermen calling for help, with one still remaining.

The violent wind and waves seemed to be playing with them, pressing the fisherman down with a wave just as he almost grasped the rescue basket each time, leaving him oscillating between hope and despair.

A rescuer was about to jump down to assist him.

Just then, the fisherman felt a lifting force beneath his feet and with that push, he grabbed the rescue basket and forcefully climbed in.

"We got him, pull him up quick!"

"Did you see that just now?"

"What?"

"There seemed to be a shadow that flashed by underwater!"

"Wow, that must have been a big fish!"

Under the cover of dense clouds and ferocious waves, Feng Yi swam through the region.

He kept a distance from the shore, merely traversing some space to familiarize himself with more areas.

The storm here wasn’t his doing but an inherent weather pattern of this region. Perceiving it, Feng Yi slightly deviated from his course, took advantage of the stormy weather to make the round, and casually lent a hand.

Afterward, Feng Yi passed through the stormy region and returned to the planned route, continuing towards his destination.

While the might of nature might be frightening, it had little effect on Feng Yi. Perhaps because it had been a long while since he had swum so freely and joyously, he even played with some marine animals after passing the storm zone.

For instance, a top predator of the marine food chain—the great white shark.

Feng Yi held onto a great white shark, examining its teeth.

This fierce marine predator opened its gaping maw attempting to bite him, but Feng Yi held its mouth apart.

The great white shark, considerably longer than an adult human, struggled in vain to break free from the grip of this odd creature!

Feng Yi was looking at the shark’s teeth.

True to its reputation as a notorious killer of the seas—what formidable and sharp weaponry it has! The rapid turnover of teeth, able to regenerate after falling out, is indeed enviable!

Feng Yi remembered how someone once said sharks urinate through their skin, leaving their flesh with a pungent smell.

Later, he heard a retort that actually, it is the ammonia produced by urea metabolism after shark deaths that causes the bad smell of the flesh.

But Feng Yi had no intention of biting into it to confirm.

They’re a protected species after all!

Forget it.

Feng Yi loosened his grip, avoiding an attack.

The great white shark swam away from Feng Yi, circled back, and charged at him again.

At this point, Feng Yi had no patience to dawdle with it here. After all, it’s a protected species. Hurting it wouldn’t end well, and as an expert for the conservation agency, even if no one else was watching, Feng Yi had to maintain some professional decorum.
