Chapter 506: Chapter 337 Dragon-Slaying Saber_2

"What’s that saying again—’There are two stores in front of my house, one sells fakes, and the other also sells fakes!’"

"Hey, Pan, when is your uncle arriving?"

Pan Weining was sending a message when he heard this and replied, "He should be here in about two days. He got delayed by some matters at his end. If things go fast, he could arrive tomorrow morning."

The drive from the airport to their accommodation didn’t take long. It wasn’t a big city, and there were hardly two traffic lights on the road, so they didn’t have to stop and go, reaching their destination smoothly.

The person who drove them over left the car behind, as Pan Weining had rented it from them.

After the driver left, Pan Weining drove the car into the garage.

Pan Weining had already gotten the keys to the place beforehand, and some entrances and exits were controlled by smart systems for which he had the codes.

"There seem to be six or seven rooms here; just pick whichever you want to stay in, there’s enough space for all of us."

"I’ve arranged for someone to deliver daily necessities, keep an ear out for any noise—I’m worried I won’t hear it if I’m on a call later."

"My uncle’s collection of meteorites is in his storeroom, but only he can open it, so we can’t see it right now."

Feng Yi glanced around. The residential area was indeed not small, but the part above ground didn’t seem suitable for a storeroom.

"Underground?" Feng Yi asked.

A look of surprise flashed across Pan Weining’s face, but he quickly smiled and gave a thumbs up, "Well-informed and perceptive! The storeroom is indeed underground. When my uncle bought this house, he hired someone to design an underground storeroom for storage, and that’s where he keeps his meteorites.

"It’s also because he might not come here more than twice a year, and he’s worried about his collection being stolen. Even if his interest isn’t that strong anymore, he wouldn’t want someone to just take his things without permission."

All of them were full of energy. Having taken a nearly 4-hour flight to get here, they didn’t feel tired.

Wen Zhiyu said, "I don’t want to rest; I want to go out and take a look around."

Pan Weining looked towards Feng Yi.

Feng Yi: "Let’s go together."

Pan Weining: "Okay, then let’s go out for a stroll, and we can just eat outside later."

Wen Zhiyu: "Let’s go shopping and see if there are any interesting new things. It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and I wonder if there are any new items."

Pan Weining: "Meteorites? For that, we’d need someone who knows the trade."

His uncle’s meteorite Hunter friend was not at home due to other commitments and couldn’t be with them to offer advice. Without someone knowledgeable, when going out to identify meteorites, it would be easy to get cheated.

Wen Zhiyu said indifferently, "We’re not buying meteorites today; let’s first take a look at some of the handicrafts made from processed meteorites."

"Isn’t it said that over ninety percent here are fake meteorites?" Feng Yi asked.

"When I buy this kind of stuff, I never expect it to be real," Wen Zhiyu said.

Buying things is all about liking what you see, sometimes you know it’s fake, but if it catches your eye, you just buy it, no need to fuss over the cost!

Earn your own money, and buy whatever you want, as long as you’re happy!

The car that had just been parked in the garage was driven out again.

Jia was driving.

Pan Weining was rescheduling with the delivery person.

Wen Zhiyu was sharing his experience with Feng Yi:

"Nowadays, these shopkeepers are very cunning. When you enter the shop, no matter how much you like an item, you cannot show it! You have to keep it cool! Hold steady! You absolutely can’t look like a fool ready to be fleeced!"

They went to the first store.

As soon as they entered, Wen Zhiyu was attracted to a large showcase in the middle of the store like a Husky attracted to a big piece of meat, unstoppable, rushing towards the display table.

"Wow! The Dragon-slaying Saber! This is exactly the Dragon-slaying Saber of my dreams!"

Wen Zhiyu’s eyes were glued to the large saber on the display table, no longer noticing the other items.

Feng Yi: ?

Keep it cool? Hold steady?

A fool ready to be fleeced?

Feng Yi looked at Pan Weining.

Pan Weining responded with a helpless look in his eyes.

"I’m already used to his intermittent bouts of thoughtlessness."

The shopkeeper, who had been dozing off, was now wide awake, his eyes gleaming with enthusiasm and a warm smile on his face, as he approached.

And his target was clear.

He said to Wen Zhiyu, "This saber was a tough find by our previous generation’s owner. He found this celestial iron and had a master design and forge this precious blade!"

"It is one of the finest creations from the peak period of Tuo Jia Town more than twenty years ago! A treasure of the shop! It’s been stored in the warehouse and not displayed until now. There’s only this one left, and it was originally meant to be a family heirloom. However, due to some financial needs, the shop is in desperate need of cash flow, and that’s why we had to put it on sale, hoping to find someone destined for it."

"As you all know, a master-crafted saber is unique, made only once in a certain design, one of a kind!"

"Look at this design! This texture! These patterns! This blade’s edge! This supreme and domineering presence!"

The more Wen Zhiyu talked, the brighter his eyes became, drool all but spilling from his mouth.

Buy!

Must buy!

Although this kind of thing is more about artistry than practicality.

But isn’t that what people who buy these things care about? Their artistry!

It’s all about how cool, dazzling, and impressive it looks!

The shopkeeper’s smile deepened.

He loved tourists like this!

Their adolescent fantasies still alive, fools with more money than sense!

Although Tuo Jia Town wasn’t nearly as popular as it was during the climate anomalies, and visitors were few and far between throughout the year, but...

You could go three years without business, but then make enough in one go to last the next three!

The last time he made a tidy sum was from a documentary crew who came here, getting a hefty amount of money from one of the young people in the group!

Wen Zhiyu really liked this knife.

"Can I hold it to try it out?" Wen Zhiyu asked.

The shopkeeper’s face showed difficulty, and after hesitating for a moment, he seemed to make a tough decision and carefully took the knife down from the display.

Wen Zhiyu excitedly took it from him.

It felt heavy in his hands.

"So heavy!"

Wen Zhiyu’s excitement grew as he played with it in his hands.

"How much for this?" he asked eagerly.

The shopkeeper gestured an "eight" with his hand.

"Eighty thousand?" Wen Zhiyu was delighted.

The shopkeeper’s smile collapsed, then he forced a polite smile, "You’re joking. Add a zero."

Wen Zhiyu’s enthusiasm cooled.

Without needing Pan Weining to remind him, Wen Zhiyu was well aware he really liked this trinket, and although he could afford the shopkeeper’s asking price, it didn’t mean he was willing to be swindled.

After all, he’d been conned many times in this little town; it was about time he learned his lesson.

"Come on, boss, don’t be like that. Let’s be reasonable," Wen Zhiyu said, not pleased.

"Be patient, let me explain," said the shopkeeper, turning to open a cabinet.

"Come, let me show you the proof! And its records. See how this knife transformed from a meteoric iron to what it is today!"

Wen Zhiyu hurried over upon hearing this.

But the knife in his hand was too heavy, awkward to hold, yet he didn’t want to put it back on the display, in case some other tourist saw the knife and thought it was unsold and snatched it away.

After a glance, Wen Zhiyu handed it to Feng Yi, "Bro, help me hold this."

Feng Yi took it.

Wen Zhiyu had already joined the shopkeeper.

Pan Weining, worried that the big fool would be cheated, also followed.

As the shopkeeper presented the documents, he told them:

"This knife was priced over a million to begin with, but because we have so few visitors in Tuo Jia Town, we never found the right buyer. We didn’t want to see a good knife gather dust, so we dropped the price by two hundred thousand."

"This is the pride of our shop! I wasn’t just blowing smoke before. Our shop has been around for decades, you can look us up online if you don’t believe our reputation."

"This blade is made from genuine meteoric iron, in ancient times it would be a priceless treasure, a magical artifact that could stir up storms of blood in the martial world!"

"Our shop’s knife is not like those other crafts you’ve seen, to be frank. It’s an overstatement to say it’s indestructible, but it’s certainly not a useless ornament! It’s leagues better! The angle and method of sharpening have been meticulously crafted!"

"You can see its thickness and toughness; it’s nothing like those low-quality goods that break upon touch!"

Clang!

The three turned toward the sound.

The knife Feng Yi had been holding was now only half its length.

The other half had fallen to the ground.

Wen Zhiyu looked at the broken knife on the ground, then at Feng Yi, and finally, his sharp gaze turned to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper: ...
