Chapter 385: Chapter 280: The Perfect Villain Look _3

There was no one around, and no cameras either, so Feng Yi hoisted the bear horizontally and moved as steadily as possible towards the rescue station.

Carrying a bear weighing over a hundred pounds, he strode through the rainy mountain forest with remarkable speed.

As he neared the rescue station, Feng Yi put on his shoes and changed his grip, hefting the bear in a manner that seemed very taxing, and moved towards the station step by step.

Soon, someone came out from the rescue station.

The security system there had detected Feng Yi’s figure and alerted the staff inside.

After handing the sick bear over to the people in the station, Feng Yi walked to the rest area on the other side to avoid disturbing the ongoing rescue efforts.

Someone handed him a towel to wipe off the rainwater on his body.

"Are you... Teacher Feng?" the person asked.

Being addressed as "you" and "teacher" made Feng Yi feel somewhat embarrassed.

Plus, the staff members of the rescue station seemed to be older than him. This person, who looked to be in his forties or close to fifty, was someone Feng Yi would have to call "Uncle."

"Just call me Feng Yi," he said.

The man smiled, did not respond directly but handed Feng Yi a cup of warm water that wasn’t too hot, urging him to drink it up and take a shower as soon as he could.

"There are clothes for you to change into; I’ll bring them over to you," the man said.

"Thanks," Feng Yi replied.

"It’s tough getting rained on in the mountains; perhaps take some medicine as a precaution? We have medicine available here," the man suggested.

"No need, I’m fine," responded Feng Yi.

Feng Yi put down his backpack and quickly took a hot shower in the washroom. The clothes provided by the staff didn’t fit him perfectly, but under these conditions, having anything to wear was good enough, and he was not in a position to be picky.

After changing, Feng Yi returned to the rest area where someone was waiting for him.

Seeing Feng Yi emerge, the person stood up, scanning Feng Yi’s face as if to confirm his identity, then smiled and extended his hand, "Feng Yi? Hello, I am the station chief here, my surname is Yao."

Feng Yi shook hands with him, "Hello Station Chief Yao, sorry to trouble you. You know about me?"

Although the rescue station had internet access, the signal in the mountains was not good, and it wasn’t certain that they would keep up with Feng Yi’s activities.

Station Chief Yao laughed heartily, "Our rescue station has a watchlist. When research teams or others carrying out missions need to enter the mountains, they inform us so we can keep an eye out for them during our patrolling duties. We heard about you from Captain Wen of the joint conservation bureau, and we added you to our watchlist. Seeing you here safe and sound is a relief!"

Station Chief Yao was quite moved. They rarely encountered situations where someone ventured into the mountains alone like Feng Yi, and besides those reckless explorers, most scientific research teams or mission groups consisted of at least two people.

"Alright, I’ll report my safety in a bit. Can I get through on the phone here?" Feng Yi asked.

"It’s difficult to get a mobile internet connection, but you can make calls using the station’s landline," Station Chief Yao said.

Station Chief Yao didn’t ask much about Feng Yi’s mission in the mountains but was very detailed in asking about where he found the giant panda and how he managed to carry it over.

Feng Yi recounted what he could.

After hearing Feng Yi’s story, a sense of respect arose in Station Chief Yao’s heart.

In these weather conditions, carrying a bear weighing over a hundred pounds was not something just anyone could do!

Impressive, but not advisable.

While they rescue wild animals, if it comes down to choosing between an animal and a person, obviously, the person is more important.

Knowing the conditions of the mountains, Station Chief Yao was aware that even without carrying a heavy burden, it would be challenging to move around in tonight’s weather. If one were to slip while carrying a bear weighing over a hundred pounds, it could result in disaster for both person and bear!

After all, Feng Yi was still young and should not put himself at risk to save a bear.

Feng Yi listened to Station Chief Yao’s advice earnestly, "Okay, I’ll be more careful next time."
