Chapter 351: Chapter 259 Human Behavior Pattern Observation_1
Feng Yi and Jia pursued the energy traces all the way to this small county town on the border of two provinces, and then into this residential area.
Parking was difficult to find, and they couldn’t drive into the narrow alleys, so they had to stop where there was open space.
No sooner had they stopped than Feng Yi spotted the suspicious character.
The person was covered with the scent of the young python, making it very probable that he was involved in the matter.
What a coincidence!
Meeting him here, could they really let him go?
Feng Yi clung to the car door.
Inside the car, the driver’s gaze moved from his sharp chin upwards and saw Feng Yi’s full figure.
Recognizing him, the driver thought of fleeing.
He never expected to encounter Feng Yi here!
Just seeing that gripping posture at the door, he knew the other party was suspicious of him.
If not now, then when should he escape?
He pulled hard on the car door!
The door didn’t budge an inch.
He thought about driving away, but before he could move, a hand reached in and yanked him out. Struggling was useless, it was as if he was trapped by a steel arm.
Like dragging a sack of cloth, Feng Yi dragged the man out.
With this panicked behavior, Feng Yi didn’t need to discern his emotional information to know that this person was definitely involved.
The forcefully pulled-out driver was considering whether he should sell out his employer if Feng Yi interrogated him later.
It might be a good idea, to first sell the employer’s information, reveal the whereabouts of the young python, shift Feng Yi’s attention, and then look for an opportunity to escape.
However, what he didn’t know was that Feng Yi had no intention of wasting words with him!
Gagging his mouth and tying him up, he threw him in the back seat of the car.
The bag containing the money was also taken out.
The gagged and tied-up driver had a look of despair in his eyes.
How did things develop to this point?
What pained him the most was that the money he had just received, which he hadn’t even had time to warm up, was now being taken away from him!
My money!!!
Feng Yi paid no further attention to the whimpering man and turned to Jia:
"Did you get it all on tape?"
"Mhm."
Jia sent the video he had just recorded to Feng Yi and added, "I have already contacted the zoo and the local law enforcement. Someone will be here shortly."
The two returned to the car, and Feng Yi pointed in a direction: "Over there, just left."
Without a word, Jia drove off in the direction Feng Yi had indicated.
Meanwhile, Feng Yi took the opportunity to edit the beginning of the video, removing the part where he was prying at the door, and sent it to the director of Yang City Zoo. It was the zoo director’s responsibility to liaise with law enforcement; Feng Yi needed to keep an eye on the "buyer".
Seeing the money in the bag, he knew for sure that someone must have paid a large sum to purchase the young python.
The only question was, why were they fixated on that particular young python?
One kilometer away from where Feng Yi and his companion were.
After completing the transaction and obtaining the young python, two men emerged from the other direction, exiting a narrow alleyway to find a black SUV parked there.
Besides the driver, there was a man in his fifties in the back seat.
The two people who brought back the python, the one with the box sat in the back seat and handed over the box with the python: "Sir, we’ve got it!"
The one inside the car addressed as "sir" took the box, opened the lid, and looked at the young python flicking its tongue inside. His expressionless face rarely showed pleasure.
Wen Suolin, with a mixed-race face like Steve’s, was also a prominent researcher in the field of python studies.
However, Steve and Wen Suolin have never gotten along well, or more accurately, Steve had a unilateral dislike for Wen Suolin.
Steve disapproved of some of Wen Suolin’s research, finding it to be too extreme.
Wen Suolin, on the other hand, thought Steve looked stupid and intellectual lacking at times.
As a result, aside from attending some important meetings, the two rarely interacted.
In comparison to Steve’s somewhat tanned skin, Wen Suolin had the pallor of someone who had not seen sunlight in a long time.
If one looked closely, they would see scars on Wen Suolin’s chin that looked like bite marks, but they were not so noticeable when hidden by his beard.
Publicly, Wen Suolin had been conducting surveys and research in border areas, and no one knew that he had silently arrived here. Even fewer knew of his several secret research bases.
Seeing the young python, Wen Suolin’s pale face gained a hint of color from excitement, his gaze burning with obvious fervor.
"Beautiful!"
The other three in the car remained silent.
Although they didn’t see what was "beautiful" about it or appreciate the man’s taste, he was the paying boss, and whatever he said was correct.
The person who had been bitten by the young python was feeling increasingly evident pain and his vision blurred again. He tried to open his eyes wide and looked at his hand.
Seeing his finger swollen, the man was alarmed: "I’m poisoned! The snake is venomous!"
"Impossible!" Wen Suolin immediately retorted, "Pythons aren’t venomous; it might be a bacterial infection..."
During his words, Wen Suolin’s face darkened instantly.
Pythons had no venomous fangs unless, in the interim, whoever stole the snake had fed it something dirty that got onto its teeth!
Wen Suolin examined the man’s wound and asked about his symptoms.
It didn’t seem like any snake venom he was familiar with, but this infection was too severe.
No matter what he was thinking, he still said, "Bacterial infection, go check it out at the hospital later, and don’t say it was a snake bite."
Once it was clear that it was a bacterial infection, the man’s uneasy heart settled, and he even felt clearer than before.
Bacterial infections are treatable, right?
He remembered the person lying in the bedroom when they were handing over the goods earlier.
