Closer to Revealing My True Self
Chapter 320 - 239: Open the Python Box_2

Chapter 320: Chapter 239: Open the Python Box_2

The production team was full of anticipation, yet they considered various plans.

Feng Yi was the calmest and most leisurely of them all.

However, the intense emotions emanating from the others and the tense atmosphere they created had some effect on him.

It was impossible to say he didn’t feel any anticipation, after all, this was the first snake he had raised.

Even though the butler always said that snakes were merely food a long time ago and that he didn’t like such lower-level animals,

they definitely couldn’t be eaten!

For Feng Yi, being involved in feeding a python was a special experience.

Feng Yi couldn’t perceive their colors, and was also curious what kind of little creatures would pop out of these six eggs from different nests.

The egg-cutting staff picked up the tools and cut open the snake egg at hand, lifting the cut shell and reaching in to gently extract the little python, allowing everyone to see its pattern clearly.

"Wow, this is... ’Titanium’ ’Tiger’? Maybe with some other genes stacked on top."

The belly was white, the back was grey, and there were various stripes and spots, some continuous and some broken.

Overall, it was clearly different from the natural wild type.

The little snake seemed a bit dazed at first, facing the world, listless and stunned, until after a while it woke up and started sensing the surroundings by flicking its tongue.

As the production team filmed, Steve also took out his phone to capture it and even wanted to try his hand at it.

"Oh, it’s such a cutie!"

The park director was very satisfied, his tense face relaxing, revealing a smile.

This color works!

"Next one."

The egg-cutting staff carefully placed it back into the egg and moved on to another.

As the second egg was opened, the park director exhaled.

This one was a sure win!

"This is ’Lavender Albino’ ’Donut’ ’Tiger’..."

Overall orange color with stripes of varying depths and some purple lines.

The park director didn’t care what genes were stacked on it; he was satisfied with the warm color pattern.

The third egg.

As the little snake was picked out and its color observed, the egg-cutting staff was about to speak when a voice beside them preempted him.

Steve, fixated on the little snake, spoke excitedly, "Oh oh—Lucy! Blue-eyed Lucy! Little darling, you’re so enchanting!"

Another staff member from the zoo also said, "Our park has a blue-eyed Lucy ball python, but not a reticulated python."

"Now we do!" The park director was also very happy.

Other zoos might have blue-eyed Lucy reticulated pythons, but this was the first one that belonged to their park, and it wasn’t bad at all.

White snakes are inherently a topic of conversation!

The fourth egg.

"’Red Reduced’ ’Super Tiger’... These stripes are interesting."

Not the warm color palette the park director liked, but looking at it, "It reminds me of a chipmunk."

With that suggestion, others also found the resemblance, as someone had already taken out their phone to search for pictures of chipmunks to compare.

"It does look a bit like it."

"That works, that works!" The park director was already content.

With these four eggs opened, the weight lifted from his heart. The remaining two eggs, even if they turned out to be wild-type, would have the backing of special guests and couldn’t lose!

The fifth egg.

"I’ll do it!"

Steve couldn’t wait any longer and decided to cut the egg himself.

This wasn’t his first time doing this, but compared to a skilled master, he was slightly awkward.

Taking over the tool, Steve carefully cut open the eggshell, revealing a small orange snake inside.

The park director’s eyes were brimming with laughter. Steve was really on the ball!

At that moment, Steve had no mind to gauge the attitudes of others; all his attention was on the adorable little one inside the shell.

Just as he was about to pick out the adorable little one with his finger, the little one moved.

The snake’s head peered out from the shell, its round, bright red eyes looking outwards, cheerfully flicking its tongue.

Then it quickly scrambled out of the shell, eager to burst into the world.

The production crew and zoo staff surrounding them all laughed.

"So spirited!"

"I guess it’s not going back into the egg now."

"Very healthy, just perhaps a bit too energetic. It could have broken out of the egg without cutting, right?"

"Quick, catch it!"

As it was about to crawl out of the egg box, Steve gently pulled it back, cuddling it.

"Welcome to the world~ my adorable little citrus~ Daddy loves you!"

Feng Yi: "..."

The name had already been decided!

The zoo staff and production team members gathered around him, whether genuinely envious or just flattering, they congratulated Steve at this moment.

"This pattern is so cute!"

"It’s a bit exotic, with waves on the side and white dots underneath, like it’s wearing jewelry! So pretty!"

"Albinism [Sunflame] [Citron]? I wonder if it has any other genes stacked, but this color pattern is really charming!"

"Exactly, exactly, so charming!" the zoo director chuckled in agreement.

It was his favorite warm color palette!

Jackpot!

Only one left.

The zoo director looked at Feng Yi, eyes filled with expectation.

Feng Yi turned to the egg-cutting staff member.

"Your turn."

Steve was bonding with his beloved "little citrus," so he wouldn’t be bothered. The last egg would be opened by the egg-cutting staff member.

Feng Yi wouldn’t be performing the procedure himself.

Why choose the one with the weakest life signal?

Out of the six snake eggs, it truly was the weakest.

A zoo is not a charity; it must turn a profit, so naturally, resources are prioritized, and the level of care varies.

If a frail juvenile snake also had ordinary coloration, the zoo certainly wouldn’t expend much effort on it, and it might not grow up successfully.

But if it carried Feng Yi’s label, its value would be extraordinary. Even if it turned out to be a coloration the zoo disliked, the director would ensure that it was fed with care, not just fed until it disappeared.

The staff member picked up the tool for the final egg cutting.

The crew’s camera panned over, while another focused on Feng Yi.

However, no emotion could be discerned on Feng Yi’s face.

As the shell cracked open and the staff gently lifted the small snake within, his expression changed.

"Something’s not quite right."

"What’s wrong?" the zoo director leaned in.

White base, with some red spots. The little snake inside wasn’t the original color.

The zoo director’s face already showed a relaxed smile, but upon hearing "not quite right," the smile faded.

If it wasn’t the color, then it came down to life or death.

As the staff lifted the snake slightly but didn’t fully extract it,

feeling the faint movements through his fingertips, he managed a smile, "It’s not very lively, let it stay inside for a while longer."

It was alive, but seemingly weak, nowhere near as robust as the previous ones.

Feng Yi wiped his hands and approached: "Let me have a look."

The staff stepped aside.

Feng Yi extended his fingers into the shell, touching the little snake, channeling life-force factors from his fingertips into the snake.

Feeling its life signal strengthen, he was about to withdraw his hand.

The little snake inside slowly poked its head out, its black round eyes looking outside, flicking its tiny forked tongue.

As Feng Yi pulled his hand back, it tried to follow and crawl out.

Feng Yi touched its head with his finger, then pressed it back down.

You’re so weak, stay inside the egg for now!

Seeing that the little snake was still alive, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

"This color is very unusual," someone commented.

Feng Yi also laughed: "It looks a bit like the fish I keep."

Upon hearing this, the zoo director standing by had a flash of inspiration in his eyes.

The egg-cutting staff was about to analyze its potential genes: "This color pattern should have..."

The zoo director interjected: "Ah! It’s koi-colored!"

He strode over and pushed the staff member to the back, his gaze commanding silence.

Shut up!

It’s koi-colored! It is!!

He had to establish this keyword in front of the cameras!

As the zoo director, he knew how to create selling points.

Who understands all that genetic talk?

But mention "koi-colored," and everyone feels connected!

Such a good symbol!

The zoo director’s smile was especially bright, every crease at the corner of his eyes vividly expressing his excitement as he patted Feng Yi’s arm:

"It’s such a pity, not one close to the original color, I hope you’re not disappointed haha!"

He had already thought about how to promote it:

"This one was personally delivered by you!"

Feng Yi: "..."

I didn’t! I didn’t do it!
