Chapter 228: Chapter 180 Can’t Say It’s Not Human_1
Catching a snake and earning cash and points?
The two of them watched Feng Yi’s series of actions in silence.
So, this guy can make pocket money just by coming out to pay a New Year’s visit?
Is this the legendary "With a skill in hand, you won’t starve"?
They knew from the internet that Feng Yi could catch snakes, but only by witnessing it firsthand did they truly realize how effortlessly he did it!
How come they never knew about Feng Yi’s talent before?!
Feng Qian recalled what Feng Yi used to be like, but quickly snapped out of it, realizing now was not the time to analyze these things!
Xiao Feng Mountain, this remote area, is almost beyond Yang City’s boundaries. You hardly see a soul along the way, and Feng Yi running here during the New Year’s surely meant he was headed for the same destination as they were!
The ancestral temple!
Feng Qian tensed up, his thoughts racing.
He should have realized from the moment Feng Yi inherited grandma’s apartment that Feng Yi’s relationship with the grandfather was strained, but perhaps there had been contact with grandma’s side all along! Knowing there was no advantage to be gained from the old man here, he decisively turned his attention to grandma’s side!
Who would’ve thought, Feng Yi, this guy who used to seem simple-minded, actually was quite crafty!
Feng Qian’s eyes flickered, having many questions he wanted to ask Feng Yi, but knowing well that Feng Yi wouldn’t answer any.
So, Feng Qian continued to silently watch Feng Yi go to the sink to wash and disinfect his hands.
After dealing with the king cobra, Feng Yi cleaned his hands with hand soap and disinfectant from the washing basin, then took out the hand sanitizer he brought in the car. The sanitizer had a fragrance that could sterilize and also mask scents.
Doctor Wu mentioned the matter about parasites, so Feng Yi was always careful about disinfection when outside. Even if no parasites were visible, there could be tiny organisms invisible to the naked eye.
When microbes get fierce, even aliens get scared!
Disinfection was one thing, odor removal, another.
King cobras, like Burmese pythons, secrete a stinky fluid when startled or angry, which smells terrible.
Going for a New Year’s visit, Feng Yi certainly didn’t want to smell like snakes.
After cleaning his hands, Feng Yi focused his attention back on the two men.
Their gazes met in silence. Feng Yi had nothing he wanted to say, while Feng Qian and Luo Kai had too many things on their minds and didn’t know how to ask.
Feng Yi wasn’t the same as he used to be, his status now different, and the old man’s strange attitude was there, making Feng Qian and the other unwilling to offend him, yet feeling no need to suck up.
Feng Qian pondered a few questions in his heart, deciding to start with small talk before probing step by step.
Having made up his mind, Feng Qian walked over, and couldn’t help but flick a tree branch, "Feng... pfft! Bleh bleh!"
As he flicked the branch, many insects resting on it took flight, smacking Feng Qian in the face as he spoke, with one even flying into his mouth.
Feng Qian’s face was almost green.
There were many insects on the mountain, not biting or bloodsucking, but annoying nonetheless, their presence in one’s eyes or nose to be guarded against, some even settling on clothes.
Feng Yi looked at those insects and remembered what he learned at a training facility, so he mentioned, "Now it’s winter, and the temperature is a bit low in the morning and evening. Some insects aren’t active due to the cold, resting on the leaves, sleeping longer each day, unable to get up. But they’ll become active once the temperature rises, and it’s nearing noon now, so there will be more insects in the mountains soon."
Feng Yi was just giving a casual reminder so they would be prepared.
However, upon saying this, Feng Yi self-deprecatingly added, "Yet some people can’t get out of bed even at twenty or thirty degrees."
Feng Qian and Luo Kai both looked at him.
Feng Yi: "I’m talking about me."
Feng Qian was about to jump up, "No shit! Of course it’s you!"
Feng Yi observed them. He was just thinking about his own tendency to sleep in, but seeing their reactions, he wasn’t the only one!
Without further ado, Feng Yi raised his hand to wave goodbye, "I’m taking off first."
"Hmm." Feng Qian responded expressionlessly.
Watching Feng Yi get into his car, the two men also got into theirs.
Feng Qian stared hard at the car ahead, "Was that kid just implying something about us?"
Luo Kai hesitated, "I don’t think so? It didn’t seem that way."
"You can’t judge someone just by their appearance! I’ve noticed before that although that kid has a good-looking face, he’s very cunning! We’ve been fooled by him all these years!!"
"... Maybe you’re right."
Luo Kai had fewer dealings with Feng Yi before, and most of his understanding of Feng Yi came from newly gathered information. What kind of person Feng Yi really was, was hard to say. His series of actions were beyond Luo Kai’s comprehension.
Who would have thought that Feng Yi would become famous for catching snakes!
And who would have thought that the person despised by the old master would have clung to grandma’s influential coattails!
Sly! Deceptive!
Feng Qian watched as Feng Yi drove away, heading in the direction of the mountain.
"Just as I thought! That kid is going to the ancestral temple too! Just don’t know what he’s after!"
"Let’s follow him, it’s obvious he’s been here before and knows the place better than us."
"Stop the car!!"
Feng Qian suddenly yelled out loud, and Luo Kai quickly stopped.
The next moment, Feng Qian burst out of the car door, flailing his sleeves, "There’s a spider on me! Dammit, there are too many bugs in this place!"
After a session of vigorous shaking and patting, Feng Qian’s complexion worsened as he got back in the car, Feng Yi’s car already far ahead.
"We rushed into this too hastily, should’ve prepared for all these bugs. Didn’t bring any insect repellent! Lucky I’m wearing long sleeves, or a bite and who knows how bad it might be—I’ve heard that mountain insects are particularly venomous!"
Meanwhile, Feng Yi drove up the mountain, looking from the rearview mirror at the car following from a distance. Unable to text, he sent Mute Uncle a voice message stating that others were following them.
