Chapter 143: Chapter 117 Senior Brother_1

Maybe because it was a work hour, the subway wasn’t crowded, but there were no seats available either.

Feng Yi stood firm, looking at the names of all the stations displayed inside the carriage. Many station names were familiar, and behind each name lay many stories of Rong City, as well as Feng Yi’s own memories.

There were happy ones, and others he’d rather not recall.

He used to ride this line often before. His family had a car to pick him up and drop him off, but Feng Yi disliked constraints and always loved to roam around.

Outside of school hours, he mostly used public transportation. One reason was that the family car was otherwise occupied, and another—I disliked being watched.

There were always drivers following him wherever he went. It made him feel uncomfortable.

The first time he met the butler, Feng Yi said he left the Feng Family because of a difference in philosophy, which was also true.

The patriarch of the Feng Family liked to arrange everything, hoping that their younger generation would follow the path he had set out for them from birth.

However, Feng Yi had been relatively free before adulthood.

With many in the Feng Family, there weren’t a few siblings in his generation. Apart from a few specifically chosen for focused training, the rest were largely left to their devices—more freedom meant more personal space to grow.

Feng Yi belonged to the latter group, as he wasn’t favored by the elders from a young age and his appearance wasn’t pleasing. As he grew up, he became more rebellious and disobedient.

When he came of age, he gained access to some family resources, but Feng Yi was not keen on following the patriarch’s plans—what schools to attend, which majors to pick, and the path for future development, all laid out. What was the fun in that?

So, he rebelled. And he gave up the Feng Family’s resources.

He went to college in Rong City, transforming from a wealthy heir to a struggling student who needed to earn his tuition and living expenses.

But, actually, he didn’t fare too poorly, although his college days were quite eventful.

Now, leaving the Feng Family didn’t mean he couldn’t live in Yang City. Leaving didn’t mean he wanted to evade.

Moreover, the development path Feng Yi chose now was beyond the Feng Family’s reach.

If they could influence the ideas of the United Protection Agency, the influence of the Feng Family wouldn’t be limited to just Yang City.

Of course, his grandmother was a different matter.

His grandmother was separate from the Yang City Feng Family.

Feng Yi remembered what the butler had said, that his grandmother slapped Captain Yuan from the United Protection Agency, and it was quite loud.

But whenever he thought of the Feng Family’s affairs, Feng Yi would feel upset. When he went back, he needed to find some amusement!

He planned to ask the butler when he went back to see what he knew about the Feng Family’s business and if he knew any embarrassing stories to cheer himself up.

"Excuse me for a moment. We are freshmen from Yang City University’s Light and Shadow Media Society."

Feng Yi turned to look, seeing two young men and two young women, four students with a youthful energy about them.

"We’re making a video about human interest stories in the subway. Could we take a few minutes of your time for a brief interview?" the girl at the forefront asked. Her eyes sparkled with excitement, yet she was somewhat restrained.

Feng Yi nodded.

"Are you a local from Yang City?"

"I’ve lived here, went away to college, and now I’m back to stay for a while."

"Oh, which college did you go to?"

"Rong City."

"Have you graduated?"

"Yes."

"So, what do you think are the differences between the subways in Yang City and Rong City?"

"...I haven’t ridden them much in the past two years."

"Oh, then let’s change the topic. Are you, currently, working?"

"...Freelancer."

"Do you take this subway line every day?"

"Not really, I’ve been away for 6 years, and this is my first time back on this line," Feng Yi replied.

One of the male students’s eyes lit up at this, what great material!

But Feng Yi wasn’t planning to elaborate on the past six years, so they didn’t press further.

"Compared to six years ago, what differences do you notice about this line?"

"There is a station name that’s been changed."

The four students looked at the list of stations, and the local boy remarked, "They changed the station near Yang City No. 1 High School. Did you go there?"

"Yes."

"Senior! I also graduated from Yang City No. 1 High School!"

Feng Yi smiled at him.

"Senior, can we take a picture with you? Just stand as you are, the way you were standing before is fine, like an ordinary passenger. Of course, you can use some small props if you like."

Four pairs of eyes looked at Feng Yi expectantly.

Feng Yi put on his mask, "Go ahead."

The four students: "..."

This prop... isn’t it a bit...?

In the end, they still took the picture. It’s just a pity they didn’t capture his full face or get a frontal shot, so his good looks went unnoticed!

But since personal privacy was involved and their video would be posted online, they understood Feng Yi’s choice.

Feng Yi got off at his station, only to find those four students alighting as well.

"Senior, we didn’t expect to get off at the same station!"

"Where are you headed?" Feng Yi asked.

"Cui Lake."

It was a bit of a distance from the station to Cui Lake—not too close.

"Are you going to take a cab there?" Feng Yi inquired.

"Yeah, we’re heading to Guanlu Terrace. Senior, are you also going that way? If you’re taking a cab, how about we share a ride?" Riding bikes was too exhausting under the blazing sun, and since they had a heavy schedule for the day, they decided to take a cab.

"Let’s share, my cab is already here."

Feng Yi checked his phone, and Jia had responded with the parking spot.

The four students, seeing Feng Yi check his phone, assumed he was using an online ride-hailing service to call for a cab.
