Chapter 131: Chapter 111: New Home_1
The plane landed at Yang City Airport.
Last time he came here was to complete a mission on Xiao Feng Mountain. This time, Feng Yi’s mood was completely different from before.
Half a year ago, he flew here from Rong City, alone and shadowy, but this time he came with his team.
"The airport seems quite lively today," said Feng Yi.
"I heard that several celebrities are coming to shoot a variety show here, one of them being a very popular star at the moment. The flight number leaked, so a lot of fans are here to meet them. There are quite a few people," said Ding, who quickly glanced at entertainment news on his phone before putting it away and standing at Feng Yi’s side.
The airport smelled complex, so Feng Yi wore a mask and walked with the butler, flanked by Bing and Ding. They could also act as bodyguards if necessary.
The fans here to meet the stars were indeed enthusiastic, their screams almost blowing the roof off the terminal.
Feng Yi heard them shouting names; a few of them must have been quite famous. But since he was no longer in the entertainment circle and didn’t pay much attention to related news, these names sounded distant and unfamiliar—it took him a moment to put faces to the names.
However, there was one name he still found familiar.
At another part of the airport.
Ning Zhixiao crawled into the car, his perfect smile maintained outside but fading once inside, as he looked down in thought.
The agent glanced at him and said, "Jealous of that fanbase, huh? That’s the power of a trending celebrity! Right now, you’re just a little famous, but you’ll blow up soon..."
The agent went on with his dose of harsh reality and pep talk for a while, but Ning Zhixiao seemed unresponsive, prompting the agent to ask, "What’s got you so engrossed? Did you hear what I just said?"
"When I was at the airport just now, I think I saw Feng Yi. He had a mask on, but I’m pretty sure it was him," Ning Zhixiao replied.
Once regarding Feng Yi as a rival, Ning Zhixiao was sensitive to any information about him. Even though Feng Yi had left the industry, Ning still reflexively reacted upon sight. He had hurried past without a clear view, and the other party was masked, but Ning had seen Feng Yi in a mask many times; he was confident he hadn’t been mistaken.
"Who?" The agent took a moment to catch on.
"Feng Yi, the one we met at the Qianli Group anniversary. You even told me to network with him more," explained Ning Zhixiao.
The agent clapped his hands, "I remember now! The one who’s close with Lu Yue! The good-looking one who stays out of the limelight! You sure it was him? Well, it’s not odd to see him at the airport, but we may not run into him again. If you do, try to make contact. Anyone who can mingle with Lu Yue like that can’t be ordinary; who knows, he might even boost your career!"
Unaware that he was the subject of discussion, Feng Yi left the airport. A few fans waiting to meet their idol mistook him for a celebrity, but he told them they had the wrong person—he wasn’t part of the entertainment circle.
Jia had already driven there.
Yesterday, Jia and Yi set off for Yang City in advance. Yi was now tidying up at their house in Luhai, and Jia had driven to pick them up from the airport.
Feng Yi noticed that the car Jia was driving was different from the one he drove yesterday—it was another luxury car, top-end and clearly modified, and it bore local plates.
"Whose car is this?" Feng Yi asked.
"Why, it’s yours, Mr. Yi!" Jia answered cheerfully, "It came with the house. The ownership will be formally transferred to you soon!"
Feng Yi then looked at the butler, who explained that the car indeed was kept at the property in Luhai, purchased around two or three years ago, and had been modified last year. While not frequently used, it had been well maintained.
Feng Yi hadn’t expected such a bonus gift. Although not new, the car was far from cheap and had been intricately modified; sitting inside it felt comfortable.
The car left the airport and headed straight for the house in Luhai.
Yi had already tidied up, and they could settle in there for the night.
Just thinking about the prestigious Luhai housing estate excited Feng Yi.
The houses in Luhai were measured in acres, a bit exaggerated perhaps, but true. Even the smallest were over six hundred square meters, each with its own courtyard.
While luxury villas like these were common across the country, the added value of Luhai was incomparable.
"That’s Cui Lake."
Feng Yi looked out the car window at the lake.
Luhai Villa Estate was built right beside Cui Lake. Forty or fifty years ago, the area was desolate, located far from the city and scarcely visited. Back then, the estate was criticized as a retirement spot for uncultured nouveau-riche types—considered by some nothing more than glorified rural homesteads, their size notwithstanding.
Then came the turning point!
In the year the climate began to recover, more than thirty black-faced spoonbills appeared at Cui Lake!
That caused a national stir! People from all over the globe took notice! The impact was far more shocking than when Feng Yi caught a two-meter wild ’Qing’ dragon on Yue Mountain!
With the climate anomaly having persisted for nearly two decades, the specter of a "sixth mass extinction" loomed large and pessimistic predictions were rampant. So, when more than thirty black-faced spoonbills appeared at Cui Lake, the shock was palpable.
It was like experiencing a burst of light after a long stretch in darkness—blinding and exhilarating!
