What puzzled the two thugs was that, while they saw these two beauties, they hadn’t come across that fierce young man from last time.

"Boss, we only know where those two girls live, but we don’t know where that young guy is?"

One of the thugs said.

It made Xiao Hong feel even more frightened. After all, she was just a weak woman; faced with so many thugs, there was no way she could fight back.

She had just tried calling Ye Qiu, but he hadn’t responded.

Would she really need to ask her colleagues for help when she went to work tomorrow?

Ye Qiu drove to the familiar food stall outside, parked his car, and stepped out. The server inside looked surprised. Who would drive such a luxury car here to grab food at a roadside stall?

But when they took a second glance, they realized it was that same young man who had taught the thugs a lesson not long ago.

Ye Qiu replied in an even tone.

Xiao Hong was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Ye Qiu to already be there.

Wasn’t Ye Qiu angry? Hadn’t he decided to ignore them?

Instantly, Xiao Hong felt a wave of joy. The fear and dread she’d just experienced melted away, replaced by a sense of overwhelming relief at Ye Qiu’s mention. That comforting sense of security came rushing back.

After Ye Qiu hung up, Xiao Hong walked over to the adjacent room.

"Xiaxia knew you were here, so she took her time getting dressed up," Xiao Hong said.

Ye Qiu noticed that Xiao Hong was the same as ever. But when he looked over at Liu Xia, he realized she seemed thinner than she’d been a month ago. Was she dieting?

"Am I not allowed to tease you a bit?"

At that moment, both Liu Xia and Xiao Hong realized that Ye Qiu wasn’t genuinely ignoring them. He’d just been acting that way on purpose.

Liu Xia sat down beside Ye Qiu but suddenly felt at a loss for words.
