Chapter 1017: Chapter 1017: A Heap of Graves
The compass in Master Yang’s hand doesn’t look very new; in fact, it seems somewhat old. Others don’t know that by the time this compass was passed down to him, it was already over a hundred years old and extremely valuable.
Of course, this compass can not only discern Feng Shui and directions but also detect many unclean presences, pinpointing their exact location.
It’s fair to say that it is a compass with a spirit.
"Master Yang, although I’m also a native of Jinling, I’m really not very clear about what that piece of land was like in the past."
Upon boarding the luxury Mercedes sedan, as Secretary Lin drove, Su Wen and Master Yang sat in the back seats, while Master Yang’s disciple sat in the front passenger seat.
As for the rumors about the abandoned building site, Su Wen, being a native of Jinling and the current head of the Su Family, had only heard about them as rumors.
"Chairman Su, let me tell you, but you should be mentally prepared."
Master Yang said.
Su Wen nodded.
"That place was a Mass Burial Mound a hundred years ago, then it became a Pit of Thousand, then once again a Mass Burial Mound. Later, it turned into a state-owned enterprise, and after the enterprise failed, it became a school. After the school’s closure, it became the residential sub-division of a former real estate company, leading to the current state."
Su Wen and Secretary Lin were truly astonished upon hearing this.
They didn’t expect that place to be a Pit of Thousand, let alone a Mass Burial Mound.
At such a site, would anyone buy the houses built there in the future?
If that’s really the case, then wouldn’t the tens of billions invested there be wasted?
"Is it very sinister there?"
"That’s how it was before; there haven’t been many rumors from there in recent years, maybe because no one dares go near it."
Master Yang said.
In fact, those places like the Pit of Thousand and Mass Burial Mound have ghosts trapped there, possibly unable to dissipate for a long time, causing normal people to feel uneasy when visiting.
However, so much time has passed now. Master Yang wants to see if any changes have taken place.
Su Wen has already mentally prepared for this.
Nonetheless, he feels some regret, wishing he hadn’t spent so much money to take over this land.
On the other hand, he knows there are many real estate companies in Jinling right now, and almost all the land in the city center has been auctioned or hoarded by other companies. Hence, development can only extend outwards or towards Jiangbei.
Of course, if this land succeeds, it will be easier to acquire and develop land in the suburbs thereafter.
Secretary Lin and the others continued driving towards the abandoned building site, leaving the bustling city center, entering the highway, exiting onto regular roads, and then driving a dozen kilometers, finally reaching the abandoned building.
As they came to a stop nearby, Secretary Lin and others parked the car. Su Wen, Secretary Lin, Master Yang, Master Yang’s disciple, and the real estate company’s representative under the Su Group all got out of the car.
The construction site leader, including the subordinate foremen, heard about the arrival of Chairman Su and others and hurried over to line up and welcome them.
"Has it become like this here?"
Su Wen asked.
"Chairman, yesterday we received notifications, and in the afternoon, we began clearing the wild weeds and trees here. Because there were too many weeds and they were already withered, we first set fire to clear them out, and then enclosed the area with walls to prevent outsiders from entering again."
The construction site leader, who is also a representative of the Su Group’s real estate company, explained.
Su Wen, upon seeing this, felt it was good and said, "You’ve done well. Let’s go inside and take a look."
Su Wen and the group entered, and as Master Yang and his disciple arrived, before stepping onto the site, Master Yang already sensed something was very wrong.
Indeed, something was very wrong here.
The compass in his hand kept jumping erratically.
And this was in broad daylight, with the sun shining; he couldn’t imagine what it would be like at night.
Yet, he remained silent, and the others hadn’t questioned him about his purpose, but based on his outfit and tools, they could likely guess.
The construction site leader led Su Wen and others around the abandoned building site.
Now that the weeds were burned away and the team had further cleaned the area, clear paths were visible. From afar, there were mounds of piled-up trash, but outside of the remaining frameworks of the abandoned buildings, the ground was quite even.
Master Yang and his disciple did not follow; instead, they stayed behind with the compass checking the Feng Shui.
"Big Head, how do you feel about this place?"
Master Yang asked his disciple.
His disciple’s head appeared larger than the average person, so Master Yang habitually called him Big Head.
Big Head hadn’t sensed anything initially, but upon entering this seemingly desolate abandoned area, he truly felt something was off.
"Master, I feel uncomfortable here."
Now the compass in Master Yang’s hand was vibrating repeatedly; he intended to check the directions but found all directions felt wrong, meaning every place here was unclean, even directly beneath their feet.
"Did you see those piles of things?"
"Master, aren’t those trash heaps?"
Big Head asked.
"Look closely once more!"
Big Head followed his master’s gaze and felt those piles of trash weren’t ordinary; rather, they resembled rural burial sites.
Indeed, they are patches of graves.
"Now look at the abandoned buildings!"
Big Head followed his master’s gaze, realizing the previous frameworks left by the abandoned villa project resembled enlarged mausoleums.
How is that possible?
Big Head felt somewhat frightened.
After all, he was studying Feng Shui under his master and had never encountered anything like this. To unexpectedly see such eerie and unsettling things here, it was mind-numbing.
"Master, I’m a bit scared."
Big Head said.
"In daylight, it’s still okay, with strong positive energy; at night, this place would be terrifying. This area isn’t suitable for human residences; building temples is fine, but building residential properties here would mean the living coexist with the dead."
"Master, what should we do then?"
"I really didn’t want to come here initially, but since you’ve already accepted Secretary Lin’s payment, I came along. Now having seen it, I wouldn’t dare take this project. We should prepare to leave."
