Chapter 901: Chapter 0901: Helena
Louise saw the two bloodied bullet heads on the carpet, proof that Ye Qiu had just extracted them from this unfamiliar young woman’s body.
How exactly did Ye Qiu manage to extract them?
Louise had no idea.
However, she did know that if a hospital surgeon were to perform this operation, it would at least take one or two hours to complete.
Yet now, Ye Qiu had done it in less than ten minutes.
What shocked Louise the most was that the two bullet wounds were now completely gone!
"Qiu, what happened to her wounds? Where are they?"
"I just healed her!"
What?
How was that even possible?
Louise couldn’t believe it. Not only did Ye Qiu remove the bullets, but he also managed to make the wounds heal so quickly, leaving no visible scars.
If Louise hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she wouldn’t have believed it.
The mysterious medical skills Ye Qiu displayed before her grew increasingly astounding!
Louise brought over a towel, dampened it, and began carefully wiping away the blood around the young woman’s chest and upper leg.
After finishing, it was clear the bloodstained dress the woman was wearing was no longer wearable. Ye Qiu handed over a hotel bathrobe for her to wear and carefully placed her back on the bed.
Ye Qiu then stepped out into the living room and sat down on the sofa.
After taking the basin back to a staff member, Louise said, "Qiu, I’ll head back to rest for now."
"Go ahead. Let’s head to Chinatown for tea at nine," Ye Qiu replied.
Louise gave Ye Qiu one last look before returning to her own room.
Zhou Wenting woke up a couple of times and, not seeing Louise beside her, had no idea where she’d gone.
Now, seeing Louise lying down, Zhou Wenting wanted to ask her something but saw that Louise had already gone to sleep.
...
Helena had been trapped in a nightmare. She dreamt that she was being hunted, her bodyguards all shot dead, and she herself collapsing in a hail of bullets.
She felt pain and let out a cry.
When she woke up, Helena looked around in confusion.
Where was she?
What was this place?
Had she been captured by those people?
Helena realized she was lying in a bed, and the room was extravagantly luxurious.
Ye Qiu, resting on the sofa in the living room, heard the young woman’s scream and quickly walked in. Upon entering, he saw this young, stunning woman with cascades of golden curls, now awake, sitting in bewilderment and scanning the surroundings.
"Who are you?"
Helena was puzzled upon seeing the plainly dressed Ye Qiu.
Of course, in Europe and America, many ethnic Chinese lived and worked, some even in professions tied to her family’s industry.
So when she saw Ye Qiu, Helena instantly became wary, thinking he might be one of them.
"I rescued you on the road around five in the morning," Ye Qiu said in fluent Italian, tinged with a Roman accent.
Earlier, Helena had spoken Italian with a distinct Sicilian accent. Ye Qiu had already guessed this young woman was Italian by her attire. Now, hearing her speak, it was confirmed.
Wearing the bathrobe, Helena noticed her dress had been replaced by this robe. And what of her gunshot wounds? The wounds on her chest and leg—
They were gone?
This couldn’t be true.
Helena inspected herself several times, thinking she must be hallucinating!
"You were the one who saved me?" Helena asked.
"With the help of a female friend of mine," Ye Qiu replied.
Not saying much more, Ye Qiu led Helena to the living room. There, she saw the bloodstained dress on the floor and, next to it, the two bullet heads.
"These were removed from your body," he said.
"And my bodyguards? What happened to them?" Helena asked, her voice trembling.
"I don’t know. They might be dead, or they could be in the hospital," Ye Qiu answered honestly.
He recalled how, when he found Helena, all her white bodyguards had collapsed in a hail of gunfire. Whether they survived, Ye Qiu didn’t know.
Helena sighed deeply and said, "Thank you for saving me. My name is Helena."
"No need," Ye Qiu replied curtly.
Helena stepped back into the bedroom, took out her phone, and called her father.
She hadn’t anticipated that the internal family conflict had become so vicious. As the heir, she had been tracked and nearly assassinated all the way in Paris.
If it hadn’t been for the young man who saved her, she would have died on the streets of Paris.
"Father, a young man saved me, but my bodyguards—whether dead or alive—is still uncertain," Helena reported.
"Helena, stay in France for the time being. Sicily is too dangerous right now. Once I handle these issues, you’ll return," replied a middle-aged man’s voice on the other end of the call.
"Yes, Father," Helena complied.
...
Ye Qiu turned on the television. The morning news in Paris was reporting on the early morning shooting incident. Ye Qiu called out, "Miss Helena, come here; they’re reporting about your bodyguards."
Helena stepped out and saw the news broadcast in French, covering the gunfire incident. However, she couldn’t understand much of it.
Ye Qiu, listening intently, explained, "Miss Helena, didn’t you understand any of it?"
Helena shook her head.
"Of your seven guards, five were killed, and two are critically injured, currently being treated in a hospital. They’re not out of danger yet," Ye Qiu said.
Upon hearing this, Helena nearly burst into tears. But for now, she sat silently.
Her father had just told her that Sicily was in turmoil, and staying in Paris would be safer for the time being.
But thinking about how those bodyguards had given their lives for her, Helena couldn’t help but feel heartbroken.
Ye Qiu checked the time; it was nearly 9 a.m. He planned to call Louise and Zhou Wenting to join him for tea. Meanwhile, Helena thought of something else. Since this young man had saved her, perhaps he could also save her two injured bodyguards.
"Sir, were you the one who removed the bullets from me?" Helena asked.
Ye Qiu nodded briefly.
"Then can you help me see my two bodyguards?"
Helena’s sapphire-like eyes were as deep and mesmerizing as the sea. She exuded an elegance that blended vulnerability with the commanding presence of nobility.
Looking at her pleading expression, Ye Qiu replied, "But we have no relationship."
