Chapter 900: Chapter 0900: Saving Someone on the Road in the Early Morning

If the beautiful lady from earlier was Viscountess Louise of the Gauthier Family, Pierre knew it wouldn’t be easy to win her favor.

After all, the Goth Consortium wasn’t any weaker than the Caste Family; in fact, it was more renowned and had a larger portfolio of industries under its belt.

Take the Louvre Grand Hotel chain, for instance. He knew it belonged to the Goth Consortium.

However, thinking back to that young, plainly dressed Asian man earlier, Pierre was even more skeptical that he could be Louise’s boyfriend. Most likely, Louise simply didn’t want to engage with him just now and used the excuse to dismiss him.

Now that Louise had downed half a bottle of red wine and seemed slightly intoxicated, Ye Qiu was the one driving.

But just as they hadn’t gotten far, gunshots suddenly rang out on the quieter streets.

What’s happening to Paris’ safety?

Ye Qiu was puzzled.

The last time Ye Qiu and his companions left the duty-free shopping mall, they encountered those armed punks trying to rob them. Though they failed in the attempt, Ye Qiu knew that Paris’ public safety was deteriorating.

Louise noticed the sudden slowing of Ye Qiu’s car and wondered what was going on.

"Gunshots,"

Ye Qiu said.

Suddenly, on a street nearby, Ye Qiu saw several white men gunned down, collapsing to the ground. Not far away, a young white woman was desperately running for her life.

From the car, Ye Qiu also noticed several vehicles as well as a group of white and Black men armed with guns continuing their pursuit of the young white woman.

As these men drew closer, the young white woman unexpectedly started running toward Ye Qiu’s car.

She was now less than six or seven meters away from the BMW Ye Qiu was driving.

The young white woman was struck twice, once in the thigh and once in the chest, letting out a tragic scream before collapsing into a pool of blood.

The pursuers stopped chasing and promptly returned to their vehicles and drove off.

"Qiu, I think someone’s been shot,"

Louise remarked.

"More than just shot—someone’s died,"

Ye Qiu replied.

Louise hadn’t expected Paris to have security concerns comparable to Marseille. Over recent years, Marseille’s public safety had considerably worsened, too.

"Should we get out and check?"

Louise asked.

As Ye Qiu watched the white and Black men drive away in the distance, his gaze returned to the young woman bleeding heavily in the street. It wasn’t clear if she was dead or alive.

"I’ll go take a look,"

Ye Qiu said as he stepped out of the car and approached the injured young white woman lying a few meters away. When he reached her, he saw she had been shot in the chest and thigh and was bleeding profusely. She had already lost consciousness.

Without hesitation, Ye Qiu picked her up and placed her in Louise’s car.

If he hadn’t rescued this young woman just now, she might not have lasted much longer. Even if she survived, lying there on the street would likely result in her being run over and turned into minced meat by passing cars.

As for the Parisian police? They’d probably take ages to arrive.

When Ye Qiu carried the injured young woman into the car, Louise hurriedly climbed out of the front passenger seat to check in the backseat.

"Qiu, how is she?"

"She’s been shot in the chest and thigh and is temporarily unconscious. Let’s get back to the hotel; I’ll treat her there."

Ye Qiu continued driving toward the Louvre Grand Hotel.

Along the way, Louise noticed that the young stranger’s chest and thigh kept bleeding, but given the limited resources in the car, like just tissues, there was no feasible way to stop the blood flow.

Ye Qiu, however, seemed unbothered. As long as the young woman still had any life left in her, Ye Qiu could bring her back.

It reminded him of the time in Jinling when Zhao Ruxue had been shot multiple times, coming so close to death before Ye Qiu salvaged her.

When they finally arrived at the Louvre Grand Hotel’s parking lot, Ye Qiu parked the car and, after stepping out with Louise, retrieved the injured young woman from the backseat.

Louise noticed the backseat was already stained with blood, but she didn’t care—saving lives was the priority.

After locking the car, they hurriedly ascended via the elevator to their hotel room.

Inside Ye Qiu’s deluxe suite, he asked Louise to take out the room key and open the door. Entering the room, Ye Qiu placed the injured young woman on the Persian-carpeted floor, which was meticulously clean.

After carefully laying her down, Ye Qiu told Louise to remove the woman’s clothing.

The young stranger was dressed in a stylish autumn outfit, with a scarf around her neck and one high heel remaining—the other shoe likely lost during her frantic escape.

Judging by her attire, it was clearly a Milanese-style dress and heels.

"She’s likely Italian, isn’t she?"

"How can you tell?"

As Louise began stripping the unconscious stranger of her dress, she asked curiously.

To many, Europeans tended to look similar—with high noses, pale skin, brown eyes, and blonde hair. Europeans and Americans seemed to share indistinct features, much like how Asians, despite being predominantly Mongoloid, could still be differentiated.

Earlier, Louise had also discerned that the young woman wasn’t French but hadn’t identified her specific nationality.

Ye Qiu had immediately recognized her as Italian, though.

"Her clothing style screams high-Milan fashion, making her almost certainly Italian—not Parisian,"

Ye Qiu explained.

It was only then that Louise began paying closer attention and conceded.

She hadn’t expected Ye Qiu to be so perceptive.

But saving the young woman was the immediate focus.

Ye Qiu asked Louise to fetch a basin of warm water and a towel, preparing to clean the wounds.

In truth, Ye Qiu’s intention was to send Louise away momentarily, giving him time to heal the stranger and extract the bullets from her chest and thigh.

Louise departed, receiving a basin and warm water from a female service staff member.

With Louise gone, Ye Qiu placed his hand near the bullet wound on the stranger’s chest. Within moments, he extracted the bloodied bullet and discarded it nearby before repeating the process for the thigh wound, pulling out the lodged bullet there as well.

By the time Louise returned with the basin and warm water, Ye Qiu had already removed the bullets, and the injuries themselves were completely healed. The wounds had entirely closed up, leaving just traces of surrounding blood to be cleaned away.

Louise was stunned to see that in such little time, Ye Qiu had removed the bullets and that the horrifying wounds had vanished entirely.
