Qiao Rui sat in Pei Liyan’s car, heading to the Tea Factory. Fifteen minutes later, the car arrived at the Tea Factory.

Pei Liyan turned to look at Qiao Rui and spoke in a deep voice, "You came here because you’ve thought of who might have drugged you, right?"

Qiao Rui nodded and didn’t hide anything from Pei Liyan. "I do have my suspicions."

"Do you have any evidence?" Pei Liyan asked.

Qiao Rui shook her head. "No, but my intuition tells me it should be her."

Pei Liyan nodded. "If you have a suspect in mind, then there’s a good chance you’re not wrong."

Qiao Rui was surprised, seemingly not expecting Pei Liyan to believe her words.

She looked at the man with doubt.

Pei Liyan’s gaze was torch-like as he looked at her. "I believe in your intuition."

After a brief moment of astonishment, Qiao Rui awkwardly tucked her fringe behind her ear, and her gaze shifted uncomfortably away, "Thank you."

"No need to be polite. I’d like to see for myself who would be so bold," said Pei Liyan.

Qiao Rui actually had a moment of realization; she felt there was something off with Granny Peng.

Because yesterday, she and Song Muyu had tea here.

Freshly roasted tea brewed with mountain spring water.

It was only this tea that wasn’t shared with everyone else because at the time, Huo Sinan and Lei Ting were dealing with matters, so they didn’t drink it.

So, she had to come back and ask Granny Peng in person.

"I’ll go in by myself," Qiao Rui looked at Pei Liyan, "Please wait here for a bit."

"I’d better accompany you inside," said Pei Liyan.

"No need. I’ll go by myself." Qiao Rui didn’t want him to come in, to avoid embarrassment.

Pei Liyan smiled nonchalantly, "Anyway, I am involved in this matter, I have the right to follow you and listen, don’t I?"

Qiao Rui, thinking of what happened between the two the night before, blushed and still flatly refused.

"I hope Mr. Pei respects my privacy."

Pei Liyan’s smile concealed a sneer, "I have no intention of prying into your private affairs, I simply want to protect you. What if someone drugs you again? Then wouldn’t I have to help?"

Qiao Rui felt that this man was somewhat despicable.

The security guard uncle saw her entering and let her in directly.

Granny Peng stiffened at the sound of Qiao Rui’s voice, and complex emotions passed through her eyes as she looked at Qiao Rui.

Those eyes revealed a flicker of emotion. It seemed that Granny Peng wasn’t surprised by Qiao Rui’s arrival.

While still some distance away, Qiao Rui’s sharp sight allowed her to notice the fleeting emotions in Granny Peng’s eyes.

She took steps towards Granny Peng, reached her, and faced the old lady. Without a word, she simply gazed at her with clear, beautiful eyes.

Granny Peng glanced at her, then at Pei Liyan following behind her, and smiled slightly, "Miss Rui, you’ve come."

"Yes, Granny Peng seems not at all surprised by my arrival," Qiao Rui spoke.

Granny Peng laughed but didn’t answer Qiao Rui’s words and instead looked far beyond at Pei Liyan not far behind Qiao Rui. "The gentleman behind you is quite the talent, is he your boyfriend?"

Qiao Rui turned to glance at Pei Liyan, and thankfully, the man hadn’t followed closely but was waiting about twenty meters away.

He stood under a tree. Tall and upright, he indeed had a striking presence.

Qiao Rui turned her head back to Granny Peng, "No, he’s not."

"Let me ask this then. Were you with the gentleman behind you last night?" Granny Peng smiled as she spoke.

Qiao Rui knew what she was implying with her question.

Qiao Rui said nothing, just looked at her coldly.

Granny Peng laughed, "Miss, if you were with the gentleman behind you last night, shouldn’t you thank me?"

Qiao Rui’s eyes narrowed, staring at Granny Peng, her wrinkled face showing not a trace of remorse.

"Thank me for what?"

"Of course, for bringing you and that gentleman together," Granny Peng said with a smile.

Qiao Rui’s smile was cold as she spoke, "It seems you did it on purpose then. The tea was tainted because of your meddling, right?"

Granny Peng nodded. "Yes, I tampered with it, gave you and your friend something dirty to eat. How is it, are you happy?"

A chill passed through Qiao Rui’s eyes. "Why?"

Granny Peng, on the other hand, smiled coldly, "Because you were brought here by Huo Sinan, and I, I have a grudge against him."

Qiao Rui frowned, staring at the old woman, a chill rising in her heart, "But what does that have to do with us? Just because you have a grudge against Huo Sinan, you go after us?"

Granny Peng said, "Yes, you were brought by him, so naturally, you’ll suffer."

"So by your logic, now, shouldn’t you pay a price?" Qiao Rui said, "I won’t let this go easily if you plotted against me."

"I’m an old woman now, not afraid of anything," Granny Peng laughed. "Miss, actually, you should thank me. Ultimately, I didn’t let someone follow and continue to harm you. If Lao Xu found out I drugged you, he would not let you off."

Qiao Rui was utterly speechless.

She looked at Qiao Rui in shock.

Qiao Rui took a step back and said, "From now on, you better keep quiet."

Granny Peng’s eyes widened, as if to say what have you done to me?

Qiao Rui just smiled calmly. "I didn’t do anything, just touched your vocal cords a bit, of course, you have no evidence either."

With that, she turned and left.

Granny Peng was left behind, unable to make a sound, only able to watch Qiao Rui leave in horror.

Pei Liyan watched from a distance as Qiao Rui walked towards him.

He suddenly realized that this girl was like an enigma.
