Chapter 362: Chapter 362: Settling One by One

Hu Qiming’s face turned ghastly pale in an instant, drained of all color. The arrogance and disdain he displayed earlier outside vanished entirely.

"You investigated me?" He found his voice again, but it carried a trace of veiled menace.

Qiao Rui recognized it clearly and let out a cold, mocking laugh. "Investigating you is a minor issue. If I wanted to, I could send you straight to prison."

Her words left Hu Qiming stunned.

His expression turned exceptionally ugly.

It shifted from green to white, then red, cycling through changes until, ultimately, he chose silence and said nothing.

Because from Qiao Rui’s tone, he sensed her nature—he mustn’t provoke her.

Having worked in office environments for years, Hu Qiming had developed a sharp intuition for reading situations.

Seeing his silence, Qiao Rui knew she had successfully intimidated this man.

She chuckled softly and said, "Director Hu, are you going to leave on your own, or should I escort you out?"

"You want me to resign?" Hu Qiming retorted.

Qiao Rui nodded. "Yes."

"Aren’t you afraid I’ll file for labor arbitration?" Hu Qiming clung desperately to his job.

He understood clearly that if he lost this job, he’d lose his lover as well, and he’d become utterly worthless in his wife’s eyes.

"Not afraid," Qiao Rui replied indifferently. "Because if you seek arbitration, I’ll simply hand over evidence of your crimes. At that point, the arbitration committee will recognize that you broke the rules first and I only acted in response. Tell me then—who do you think will end up worse off?"

With just a few words, Qiao Rui completely shattered Hu Qiming’s bluster, leaving him crestfallen.

"President Qiao, please have mercy," he suddenly dropped to his knees.

Qiao Rui was startled by his kneeling.

She frowned slightly. "A man’s knees are worth gold. If you hadn’t done this, I might have ignored your personal life. But now that you’ve stooped to such tactics, I can no longer allow you to stay."

Hu Qiming became even more desperate. "You can’t dismiss me just because of my personal matters!"

"Who said it’s only about that?" Qiao Rui chuckled lightly. "Over the years, you’ve lined your pockets, siphoning off perks from the Qiao Family’s clients. Should I start recounting each and every instance for you?"

Still kneeling on the floor, Hu Qiming grew even more terrified.

"Earlier, I refrained from pointing them all out as a courtesy to preserve your dignity. But now, I’d like to talk about a few of your most infamous misdeeds involving dirty money," Qiao Rui said icily.

Hu Qiming’s eyes widened in shock.

Qiao Rui understood that for people like him, you had to spell things out explicitly; otherwise, they wouldn’t relent.

So, without leaving him any semblance of face, she listed out every instance of dirty money Hu Qiming had taken.

With each revelation, Hu Qiming’s face grew paler.

By the time Qiao Rui finished laying everything bare, he was slumped helplessly on the floor.

"President Qiao, I’ll resign. I’ll leave," he finally muttered.

Qiao Rui said, "Good. If you leave, I can let you go without pressing for any severance pay."

Hu Qiming no longer dared utter another word.

He knew Qiao Rui had the capacity to put him behind bars, and he knew exactly what he had done.

He just found it incredibly perplexing—how did she know about such private matters?

"Alright." Hu Qiming nodded.

"And your lover will be leaving here too, just like you!" Qiao Rui added.

Hu Qiming froze and then said, "Actually, they weren’t aware—it’s something I kept hidden from them."

"They were unaware of each other, but they both knew you were married," Qiao Rui retorted sharply.

Hu Qiming fell silent again. "Whatever you decide, President Qiao."

"Remember, the evidence I possess can be circulated at any time. If you do your future work honestly, wherever that may be, I’ll let bygones be bygones. But if you repeat your mistakes, don’t blame me for being ruthless," Qiao Rui declared.

"Understood!" Hu Qiming scrambled to his feet, drenched in cold sweat. His legs felt weak, and he staggered out of the office.

He left like a defeated rooster after losing a fight.

Seeing him walk out of the office in this state stunned everyone present.

Was this still the confident and commanding Director Hu?

Even his two lovers were visibly taken aback when they saw him.

Hu Qiming turned to Li Chongming and said, "I resign and am leaving the Qiao Family."

Li Chongming hesitated for a moment, but quickly grasped the situation.

He replied calmly, "Go handle the HR formalities."

Hu Qiming packed up his belongings, his demeanor casting a gloomy shadow across the entire office.

Meanwhile, Qiao Rui pressed the intercom button: "Next—Yao Ping!"

Yao Ping was one of Hu Qiming’s lovers.

Her expression changed instantly. She got up and walked toward the office, casting one last glance at Hu Qiming before leaving. However, Hu Qiming didn’t lift his head to look at her.

Yao Ping wasn’t certain what had happened, but a sense of impending doom settled in her heart.

Sure enough, once she entered, Qiao Rui asked her, "Do you want to leave on your own, or should I escort you out?"

Yao Ping immediately became emotional, her voice growing shrill: "President Qiao, can you at least give me a reason?"

Qiao Rui gazed at her indifferently. "What kind of reason do you want? A reason for helping Director Hu pocket dirty money, a reason for interfering in someone’s marriage, or a direct choice: prison or resignation?"

Yao Ping froze in terror.

Her words caught in her throat; she stared blankly at Qiao Rui, unable to say a single word.

"You need not doubt—I have evidence of your relationship with Director Hu. You acted as his lover and helped cover for him, committing several violations in the process," Qiao Rui stated calmly. "Shall I spell it out for you?"

Yao Ping pressed her lips together. Though Hu Qiming’s state upon leaving had unsettled her deeply, she still attempted one last desperate struggle.

"Then spell it out, President Qiao. I’d also like to know exactly how I’ve been ruined. If I’m going to fall, I want to fall with clarity," she said resolutely.

"Alright!" Qiao Rui’s tone turned icy. "You’ve been Director Hu’s lover for three years and had two abortions for him."

Yao Ping’s face twisted in shock. "That’s my personal life—it doesn’t affect my work. I believe I’ve been competent in my professional duties."

"Being a man’s lover and having abortions is indeed personal business, but the Qiao Family doesn’t even permit office romances. Have you not violated company policies?"

Yao Ping: "....."

"Moreover, how many times have you helped Hu Qiming pocket instances of dirty money? Let me recount the first occurrence, which took place three years ago..."

Qiao Rui detailed each incident, leaving no stone unturned.

Finally, she asked coldly, "Do you think all this is enough to send you to prison?"

Yao Ping crumbled, collapsing to the floor just as Hu Qiming had.

Qiao Rui continued. "This office only had you and Qin Xin helping Hu Qiming pocket money. Therefore, all three of you must leave."

Yao Ping understood immediately, her eyes widening as she stared at Qiao Rui. "Qin Xin is one of his lovers too?"

Qiao Rui raised her eyebrows at the question.

Yao Ping abruptly stood up and stormed out of the office.

Once outside, Hu Qiming was already gone, but she spotted Qin Xin and rushed up to her, grabbing her collar. "Tell me—are you Hu Qiming’s lover?"
