Chapter 328: Chapter 328: Let’s Go to Hell Together
Song Xun did not let go of her, but he also did not dare to use too much force.
He realized that her whole body had grown unbearably thin, so light in his arms that she seemed weightless.
His heart tightened, gripped by a heavy sorrow.
Song Muyu clearly felt the change in his strength, sensed his embrace tightening abruptly only to loosen again.
Then, he let her go.
Song Muyu seemed to sense his hesitation and indecision, as well as the deep, conflicted struggle inside him.
"I’m sorry!" Song Xun said once more, then turned and left.
In truth, he realized that no matter what he said, words would fail him.
She had even chosen not to keep his child. She was never the kind of girl who was so heartless, but when she decided to be cruel, she went as far as erasing their very child.
What more could he say?
Just thinking about how their child had been lost because of her made him lose all hope, leaving him completely drained of strength.
After leaving the hospital, Song Xun returned to the house he shared with Shen Shuyi.
Gao Qi had brought someone over and locked them in the house.
Shen Shuyi was acting like a madwoman, smashing everything inside.
Gao Qi couldn’t stop her and could only stand by, watching to ensure she didn’t harm herself.
When Song Xun returned, Gao Qi breathed a sigh of relief. "President, you’re back. Miss Shen is throwing a fit."
"Let her smash things." Song Xun seemed unconcerned. "You can go now."
"Yes!" Gao Qi quickly left.
Song Xun took a look at the still-raging Shen Shuyi but didn’t say a word.
It was as if she wasn’t destroying his house at all.
Shen Shuyi vented for quite a while before meeting Song Xun’s cold and clear black gaze, her eyes carrying a trace of provocation.
"Song Xun, how dare you manipulate me?"
"You still have the nerve to challenge me, Shen Shuyi? It seems you have yet to understand what regret truly means." Song Xun enunciated each word coldly, his black eyes igniting with flames of fury.
"And I don’t think you know what regret means either. You dare threaten me? You should know the Shen Family isn’t to be trifled with." Shen Shuyi stared coldly at him. "Given the state the Song Family is in now, without my Shen Family, you’re always on the verge of collapse."
Song Xun only responded with a sneer. "Do you think I care?"
Shen Shuyi froze, her expression shifting as she stared at Song Xun in disbelief.
Could he really not care at all?
Was he truly intent on destroying the Song Family?
Amid her daze, Gao Qi called out from the doorway, "President, Miss Shen, Madam is here."
Shen Shuyi froze, noticing the chaotic mess scattered everywhere, her expression turning grim.
Mrs. Song was her future mother-in-law. If she saw how this place had been wrecked, she likely wouldn’t take Shen Shuyi’s side.
Without saying a word, Shen Shuyi turned and ran upstairs.
Mrs. Song entered the house, taking in the complete disarray with visible shock. "What happened here? Who trashed this place?"
Song Xun did not respond to his mother.
He found an untouched spot on the sofa, free from the destruction, and sat down before finally glancing up at her.
"Why have you come looking for me so early in the morning?"
Mrs. Song frowned at his cold attitude. "Song Xun, was this your doing?"
Song Xun said nothing.
Mrs. Song stepped closer, standing in front of him. "No matter how emotional you’re feeling, you should temper your temper. What if you’ve scared Shuyi?"
Song Xun chuckled lightly, full of sarcasm.
Mrs. Song’s brows furrowed even further. "What are you scoffing at?"
From the doorway, Gao Qi spoke softly, "Madam, actually, it was Miss Shen who smashed the house."
Mrs. Song paused for a moment, her expression shifting as she turned to look suspiciously at Song Xun.
Song Xun gave a mocking laugh and said, "This is the so-called refined debutante you chose, the so-called heiress from a noble family. Are you satisfied now?"
Mrs. Song’s face contorted, looking exceedingly ugly. Taking a deep breath, she said, "I know your awful temper well enough. Shuyi losing her temper was surely provoked by you."
"Yes, yes, it’s all my fault." For once, Song Xun acquiesced, his tone even self-mocking. "You and Shen Shuyi are both refined debutantes, yet when faced with problems, aren’t you just like fishwives? No difference at all."
"You insolent brat!" Mrs. Song cursed.
Song Xun chuckled again, "See? Cursing others—that’s your so-called elegance?"
Mrs. Song’s face cycled through green, red, and white hues, and she stiffened, readying a rebuttal.
"I won’t argue this with you. What on earth happened here?"
Song Xun glanced at his mother. "You’re looking at it. What else could it be?"
"Things were fine. Why fight, why break things?" Mrs. Song cast her gaze over the wreckage of the living room. Everything breakable had been smashed to pieces, save for items too heavy to move.
Song Xun said nothing.
"I’m asking you a question!" Mrs. Song barked sternly.
Song Xun only responded coldly, "You came here so early. Just say what you need to say. Why are you beating around the bush?"
"Where is Shuyi?" Mrs. Song asked, glancing toward the stairs.
"Upstairs," Song Xun replied.
Mrs. Song paused, realizing she’d get no answers from Song Xun. She turned her attention to Gao Qi.
"Gao Qi, what’s going on with Shuyi?"
"Madam, I don’t know either." Gao Qi shook his head, visibly flustered. "I’ll leave now!"
"Stop right there!" Mrs. Song ordered.
"Don’t trouble him," Song Xun interjected. "He really doesn’t know anything."
Mrs. Song gritted her teeth and spoke in a low voice, "Then tell me—what actually happened?"
"You’re being too overbearing. Why don’t you go become a queen?" Song Xun scoffed.
"You little brat, are you trying to drive me to my grave?"
"Everyone talks about how poised debutantes should be, but I don’t think so!" Song Xun responded nonchalantly. "Always angry, always yelling, always trying to control everything—this is clearly pathological! Needs treatment!"
Mrs. Song’s eyes burned with fury, but she still restrained herself and said, "I won’t argue with you. Shuyi wouldn’t act this way for no reason."
"Of course not. She’s just like you—always wanting to control everything." Song Xun replied. "You’re not finding me a wife. You’re finding yourself a mountain of gold to cling to—and a second mother for me!"
Mrs. Song trembled with anger, but in this awkward situation, she had no choice but to pretend like nothing happened and avoid blaming Shen Shuyi.
She closed her eyes briefly and said, "Say whatever you want. I came here to tell you that last night’s matter—I didn’t inform your father. But this is something you need to rein in."
"Ha!" Song Xun laughed coldly. "Should I bow down to you in gratitude for eight generations?"
"Do whatever you want." Mrs. Song stormed off in a fury.
Song Xun called out behind her, each word deliberate, "Mom, since my life is ruined, let’s all make sure nobody else has it good either."
Mrs. Song froze mid-step, turning back to him. "What did you just say?"
"I said, no one gets to have it good." Song Xun replied coldly.
"Why?" Mrs. Song finally felt the fierce hatred and icy disdain radiating from Song Xun’s very bones.
"Because of my child." Song Xun said grimly. "The one who indirectly killed him was you! You personally pushed Muyu and me into hell on earth. So we’ll go to hell together."
Mrs. Song opened her mouth to speak, but her phone rang.
She immediately answered the call.
A voice from the other end said, "Madam, bad news. A few more companies have terminated their partnerships with us."
Mrs. Song’s face turned pale. "Which ones?"
"The big companies controlling thirty percent of our financial transactions."
Mrs. Song staggered, nearly falling.
Meanwhile, Qiao Rui also received a call.
"Young Master, the orders have been carried out. The partnership with the Shen Family is cut off."
"Excellent." Qiao Rui smiled and said, "Next, let’s deliver a blow to Mrs. Song’s natal family."
