Chapter 326: Chapter 326 That Night Was Clearly Joyful

Song Muyu’s thoughts were simple: she just hoped Shen Shuyi would stop probing and testing her.

What’s done is done.

She wouldn’t have anything more to do with Song Xun. What existed in the past was precisely that—the past.

This was Song Muyu’s advice to her, as well as her resolution.

Shen Shuyi looked at Song Muyu, her gaze somewhat complicated, as if weighing her meaning.

Song Muyu didn’t feel like saying anything further to her.

Perhaps noticing the impatience in Song Muyu’s expression, Shen Shuyi smiled and said, "Indeed, suspicion is a woman’s greatest vice. I understand that in theory, but it’s often so hard to control."

Song Muyu furrowed her brows slightly.

Shen Shuyi continued, "It’s just like matters of the heart. If we were all so rational, would it even be called love?"

Only then did Song Muyu realize—this was a warning.

Song Muyu smiled faintly, neither affirming nor denying anything.

Seeing that she wasn’t responding, Shen Shuyi frowned and pressed on, "You’ve experienced love, haven’t you? Shouldn’t you understand? Loving someone means losing control of your heart. No matter how much you try to restrain yourself with reason, it’s nearly impossible to do so."

"Sister-in-law, I have indeed experienced love." Song Muyu could now clearly sense that Shen Shuyi was worried she might lose control over her feelings for Song Xun and rekindle an old flame.

However, everyone here was smart. There was no need to overstate things; leaving words half-spoken made future encounters easier.

"But when it comes to matters of the heart, everyone feels differently. Sister-in-law, I can’t understand your thoughts either." Song Muyu spoke flatly. "It’s just that you’ve said so much, it makes me wonder—if you don’t even trust my brother or yourself, how far do you think this relationship can go?"

Shen Shuyi paused, her smile suddenly sharp. "Are you saying this because you don’t want me and your brother to go far in the first place?"

Meeting her piercing gaze, Song Muyu burst into laughter. "Sister-in-law, I’m not some weirdo. Why wouldn’t I want that?"

"Ha!" Shen Shuyi chuckled, the undertone of ridicule evident. "Maybe it’s just me being paranoid, but I can’t shake the feeling that you wouldn’t bless our relationship."

Song Muyu looked at her, her gaze turning cold, a quiet darkness brewing within.

Her voice was soft. "Are you implying that I’m some kind of weirdo?"

"Muyu, I was just joking." Shen Shuyi smiled and said, "You’re not really taking it seriously, are you?"

"Of course not. But it seems like you’re the one taking this seriously." Song Muyu gave a faint laugh, matching Shen Shuyi’s attitude. "I have no intention of commenting on my brother’s relationship with you, nor do I want to get involved.

Sister-in-law, it’s better if you don’t ask me such things. Throughout history, relationships between sisters-in-law have always been tricky. I’m afraid that even if I offer my sincerity, you won’t believe me.

So, to avoid misunderstandings, it’s best for us to interact less."

Shen Shuyi froze for a moment before letting out a soft laugh. "You’ve got quite a small heart, Muyu!"

"Yes, I do." Song Muyu replied naturally. "And sister-in-law, you can stop testing me. I have no interest in playing along, nor the patience to act."

Shen Shuyi stared at her for a long moment, saying nothing more.

Her gaze turned icy, sliding over Song Muyu’s face, before she finally spoke, enunciating each word clearly. "You’re right—we really shouldn’t interact. In that case, you shouldn’t interact with your brother either. My heart’s small, too."

At that moment, Song Muyu knew unequivocally—Shen Shuyi had declared war.

She had figured out what had happened between her and Song Xun, and this visit was meant to put her in her place.

Whatever lingering guilt or shame Song Muyu had been harboring deep down dissipated completely.

"Fine." Song Muyu nodded calmly.

Shen Shuyi stood up, squinting as she took one last sharp look, her eyes filled with cutting intensity, before finally saying, "Take care of yourself, Muyu. A miscarriage is no small matter. If you don’t recover properly and keep running around, it won’t just bring disgrace to the Song Family, but also cause your brother to lose face."

Song Muyu felt a stab in her heart as Shen Shuyi finally let her true intent slip.

She didn’t hold back either, countering directly. "Sister-in-law, you’re not even officially part of the Song Family yet, but you’re already acting so ready to defend their honor. Isn’t that a little premature?"

Shen Shuyi’s expression changed. She suddenly smirked coldly and said, "You’re right, it’s premature. But my words weren’t without reason. Take care of yourself."

With that, she turned and left.

Song Muyu let out a bitter laugh. This situation truly was foolish.

Taking out her phone, Song Muyu contacted Jiang Jinfeng. "Jinfeng, I want to be discharged and return to Qingcheng."

"Now?" Jiang Jinfeng asked, clearly concerned. "You’re still not well. Forcing yourself to leave might harm your health."

"It won’t." Song Muyu replied, "I care about my life, which is why I’m in such a rush to leave."

"Alright then." Jiang Jinfeng conceded. "I’ll inform Ruirui so we can get ready to go back."

"No need to tell her. She’s busy right now." Song Muyu said. "She and Pei Liyan just visited me earlier. Calling her now isn’t convenient. I’ll leave first and let her know later."

"Alright, I’ll make arrangements right away."

As Shen Shuyi walked out of the hospital’s inpatient wing, she hadn’t made it far before running into Song Xun.

His stern, icy face approached, each step heavy as if treading on thorns.

Seeing Song Xun, Shen Shuyi’s expression shifted.

Song Xun strode over, stopping in front of her, his narrow, deep eyes scrutinizing her with an oppressive fury burning beneath.

"What are you doing at the hospital?" His voice was low and cold, like something dragged straight out of hell.

Shen Shuyi gave an awkward laugh. "I came to see Muyu. Why are you so tense?"

Song Xun’s pupils contracted sharply, his rage instantly ignited. Reaching out, he suddenly grabbed Shen Shuyi’s arm.

"Ugh, you’re hurting me!" Shen Shuyi cried softly. "Song Xun, let me go!"

"Shen Shuyi, cut the act when you’re with me." Song Xun’s thin lips curled into a cold sneer, his dark eyes brimming with bloodthirsty frost. "Don’t think I don’t know your intentions."

"You know my intentions?" Shen Shuyi raised an eyebrow, her gaze growing sharp, suddenly radiating cutting intensity. "Then tell me—what are my intentions?"

Song Xun paused, momentarily taken aback by her defiance.

He smirked coldly, speaking with detachment, "I’ve told you before—if you’ve got an issue, direct it at me. Leave everyone else out of it."

"Ha, are you scared?" Shen Shuyi laughed lightly. "Scared I’ll cause trouble for your dear sister?"

"You’re not even worthy." Song Xun sneered coldly. "And she’s not someone you can mess with."

"Have you considered that the more you say things like this, the more I’ll feel compelled to push? Just to see what you’ll do about it?" Shen Shuyi tilted her chin slightly, looking at Song Xun with defiant pride.

She wasn’t willing to back down, nor accept defeat.

Song Xun’s gaze turned razor-sharp, and he let out a cold laugh. "If you’re ready to face the consequences of provoking me, then go ahead and try."

"I already have!" Shen Shuyi shouted. "I don’t understand—why are you so hot and cold with me? That night, weren’t we happy together?"

"Ha!" Song Xun suddenly let out a bone-chilling laugh. "That night—was it even me who shared that happiness with you?"
