CEO's Ugly Flash-Marriage Wife Hides So Many Identities -
Chapter 312 The Real Goodbye
Chapter 312: Chapter 312 The Real Goodbye
As Song Huaisan entered the room, he immediately saw his wife slumped on the sofa, her face twisted in rage. He instantly understood that this was the result of Song Xun having infuriated her.
He just didn’t know exactly what had transpired.
Looking at his wife, he comforted her, saying, "That ungrateful son is just upset about his engagement to Shen Shuyi. Don’t stoop to his level. Even though he is rebellious, hasn’t he still managed to go along with our plans to marry into the Shen Family?"
Mrs. Song turned her gaze away and let out a cold snort. "He’s going to ruin the Song Family."
"What?" Song Huaisan frowned, his eyes tracing over his wife’s face. "That’s just him talking in the heat of the moment. Why do you insist on taking him seriously and making it a big deal?"
"You know nothing!" Mrs. Song snapped forcefully before rising and heading upstairs.
Ultimately, she never told Song Huaisan about Song Muyu’s miscarriage.
The fewer people who knew about it, the better.
Out on the streets, Song Xun drove aimlessly, unable to find a place to go.
Just then, his phone rang.
He glanced at it—it was Shen Shuyi calling.
He didn’t answer the call, letting the ringtone echo incessantly until it ended.
Ultimately, he didn’t pick up.
After calling Fang Mo, who was one of Pei Liyan’s men, he decided to place a call to Pei Liyan instead. But Pei Liyan’s phone was turned off.
He checked the time. It was already one in the morning.
With a bitter smile, he realized that in such a vast city as Liancheng, there was ironically no place for him to settle.
In the end, he made his way to the hospital.
Standing outside Muyu’s hospital room, he stayed there for an entire night.
Jiang Jinfeng had already left, leaving Qi Yun behind to accompany Song Muyu at the hospital.
Fearing that Pei Liyan’s men might return to cause trouble, Jiang Jinfeng had also taken Qi Yun away, instead sending two other individuals from Liu Garden to protect Song Muyu.
Actually, there was another motive behind these arrangements: they feared Song Muyu might start asking too many questions, leading to Song Xun confessing about his relationship with her and how it had resulted in her pregnancy.
After all, if that truth were revealed, the impact it might have on Muyu’s already fragile mental state was impossible to predict.
No one wanted to further torment Song Muyu’s storm-ravaged, battered soul.
Song Muyu lay on the hospital bed, unable to sleep.
Her head felt hazy, a result of excessive blood loss. Her complexion was still pallid.
She closed her eyes, hoping to take a short nap, but as soon as she did, her mind became a restless stampede.
She felt as though something was about to happen—a foreboding sense of unease crept up on her.
At that moment, a nurse entered the room and softly said to Song Muyu, "Miss Song, there’s a gentleman standing at the door. He hasn’t come in."
Song Muyu froze for a moment. "What gentleman?"
"He said he’s your brother," the nurse replied.
Song Muyu’s expression shifted. After a moment of hesitation, she said, "Could you ask him to come in for me?"
"Sure!" The nurse stepped out and called Song Xun in.
"Mr. Song, Miss Song is inviting you inside."
Song Xun paused, glancing at the nurse, hesitated briefly, then finally nodded and walked in.
As he entered, he didn’t see Jiang Jinfeng or Qi Yun but instead noticed two unfamiliar women who were likely bodyguards.
The two women shot Song Xun hostile looks.
Song Muyu said, "It’s fine. I’d like to speak with him privately."
The two had no choice but to leave the room.
Inside the hospital room, only Song Xun and Song Muyu remained.
For a time, they stared at each other without saying a word.
The silence stretched on for quite a while.
"Why have you come back again?" Song Muyu broke the silence, speaking first.
"How did a miscarriage happen?" He ignored her question, answering with one of his own.
His abrupt words left Song Muyu stunned.
Her face, so pale, reflected confusion. The blood loss had evidently left her dazed, her vision blurry.
Still, she noticed Song Xun’s furrowed brows and the mix of anger and barely concealed anguish in his expression.
Seeing him like this, a wave of bitterness surged within Song Muyu.
At this point, discussing such matters made no difference at all.
Yet, the pained look in his eyes comforted her somewhat—at least he wasn’t entirely indifferent.
That hint of emotion reassured her, but it also deepened her sorrow.
Perhaps... they were simply fated never to be.
"The child isn’t yours!" Song Muyu suddenly chuckled softly. "It has nothing to do with you, so don’t think the baby was in any way yours."
"What do you mean?" Song Xun froze, taking a step towards the bed.
His tall, lean frame stood rigid, his features etched with unmistakable grief.
With a heavy, conflicted gaze, he stared at Song Muyu’s face and asked again, "If it’s not my child, then whose is it?"
Song Muyu broke into a laugh, her pale smile all the more piercing. "Do you really think I’ve only shared a bed with you?"
She wanted to sever all ties with him, even if it meant tarnishing her own reputation.
She was utterly exhausted.
After his engagement to Shen Shuyi, she had constantly reminded herself not to fantasize and dream of the impossible, not to act dishonorably.
Song Muyu knew very well that once Song Xun learned the child was his, he would be consumed with guilt.
And if he carried that guilt into his relationship with Shen Shuyi, it would bring pain to many others.
It was better to bury everything and allow them both to move forward without entanglements.
A sharp inhale signaled Song Xun’s near-breaking point; he felt as though his heart was being torn apart in that moment.
But then, in an instant, he realized her intentions.
He had watched her grow up; how could he not understand what she was thinking?
He let out a derisive laugh. "Other than me, who could you accept? You can’t do it!"
Song Xun’s words fell like a judgment, leaving Song Muyu momentarily frozen.
Indeed, aside from him, there was truly no one else.
She might never be able to accept anyone else.
"Song Muyu." Song Xun’s smile carried a hint of coldness. At that moment, he appeared utterly dejected and defeated. "You win!"
Song Muyu pressed her lips together, turning her face slightly away.
Her eyes reddened.
They remained silent for a long, long time.
But their breaths were so clearly audible.
Then, Song Xun spoke again. "Go back to Qingcheng. From now on, the Song Family is no longer your concern."
Song Muyu didn’t respond.
Clenching his fists tightly, Song Xun said each word deliberately: "Leave. I won’t bother you anymore. Live well."
Song Muyu’s heart tightened as she turned to look at him. By then, he had already regained his composure, as if the agony he’d shown earlier had never existed.
He gazed deeply at Song Muyu—this single glance seemed to hold endless emotions that transformed into tranquility in an instant.
"You too. Be good to your wife," Song Muyu said with a faint smile, offering her sincere blessing.
Song Xun chuckled softly, but his expression was still riddled with pain.
He stared at Song Muyu one last time before turning to leave.
Song Muyu watched his departing figure, her heart a mix of indescribable emotions.
This was a true farewell. He had grown up.
So be it. Everything was over.
He stopped asking questions, which was good.
She no longer needed to think of excuses to explain.
Fang Mo, after being beaten and failing his mission, felt frustrated and worried about being punished by the CEO. He immediately set out to find Qi Yun.
Tonight, no matter what, he was determined to capture Qi Yun.
Thus, Fang Mo, armed with resolve, headed to Liu Garden.
