Chapter 306: Chapter 306 Ah, Blood

As soon as Song Muyu entered the room, Mrs. Song saw her return, and her eyes immediately lit up with a glimmer of hope.

She stepped forward and tightly grasped Song Muyu’s hand. "Muyu, you’re back!"

"Mom!" Song Muyu looked at her and said, "Don’t worry so much. Both brother and Dad are very capable."

Mrs. Song gripped her hand firmly, as if holding onto a lifeline. "This time, we’ve been sabotaged by someone treacherous."

Song Muyu paused but said nothing.

"Muyu, actually, I called you back because there’s something I want to discuss with you—about Jiang Jinfeng."

"What about him?" Song Muyu frowned slightly, almost unconsciously.

Mrs. Song noticed her change in expression and didn’t speak outright, intending to take an indirect approach.

After all, some goals can’t be achieved by being blunt, nor could she risk tearing the relationship apart.

She restrained herself and said, "I’ve observed him, and he doesn’t seem truly sincere about you. Coming to our house, he hasn’t shown any genuine intentions."

Song Muyu’s heart sank immediately. It seemed Jiang Jinfeng and the others were right.

Mrs. Song indeed wanted to use her for an arranged marriage.

"Mom!" Song Muyu glanced at Mrs. Song, her tone distracted. "Jinfeng is earnest and honest—a rare, good man."

"Is he?" Mrs. Song’s tone carried a hint of contempt. "I think he hasn’t been serious about you either."

"Mom, my affairs with him are my own business. You don’t need to worry about it," Song Muyu said, attempting to dispel her mother’s plans for her marriage.

But she seemed naive in thinking it would convince her.

Mrs. Song sneered disdainfully. "He hasn’t made any promises regarding your future with him. Besides, we don’t know much about what his family does. How could he possibly be worthy of a daughter from the Song Family?"

"Mom!" Song Muyu couldn’t help but laugh bitterly inside, her heart growing colder. "Our family is in troubled times now. I’ve never even thought about finding someone with an exceptional family background. Someone ordinary would suffice."

Her words aimed to dissuade Mrs. Song from pursuing thoughts of an arranged marriage.

But how could Mrs. Song give up so easily?

She smiled and said, "You are our little princess—the precious daughter cherished by your father, your brother, and me."

Song Muyu froze at her words.

Mrs. Song displayed her elegance and superiority. "How can the little princess of the Song Family marry casually? Listen to Mom. I’ll find someone better for you."

Song Muyu was stunned. She hadn’t expected Mrs. Song to be so eager.

She had barely stepped into the house, hadn’t even sat down for a minute before Mrs. Song impatiently broached the topic of arranging a marriage for her.

Her heart sank deeply, yet she feigned outward calm. Tilting her head slightly, she softly asked, "Mom, were you so anxious to call me back just to arrange a match with a wealthy young man for me?"

Mrs. Song’s expression stiffened, momentarily embarrassed.

She chuckled and said, "Isn’t it all for your own good? If you find a suitable family, it’ll also help consolidate our Song Family. Isn’t that a good thing?"

Song Muyu’s heart grew icy cold in an instant.

If she hadn’t mentally prepared herself beforehand, hearing such words bluntly would have surely been hard to accept.

Still, even with prior awareness, hearing this hurt deeply.

It felt as if needles were pricking her heart.

"Mom, it hasn’t been easy for you to raise me all these years," Song Muyu whispered. "I know I owe the Song Family. But I’m not even your biological daughter. I’m just a lowly existence, unworthy of climbing up to the lofty gates of a family like Liancheng’s. Such an arrangement will likely backfire."

Mrs. Song froze. Her gaze turned cold as she looked at Song Muyu, her tone stern. "How can that be? My daughter from the Song Family is a gem—who dares to look down on you?"

Song Muyu was rendered speechless by her imposing remark.

"It’s settled then. I’ll find a family for you that is absolutely worthy of you," Mrs. Song added.

Song Muyu sighed inwardly and just as she was about to voice her refusal, the sound of the housekeeper calling at the door interrupted her. "Madam, something’s wrong! Mr. Jiang and several people are fighting at the entrance."

Mrs. Song was startled and immediately asked Song Muyu, "Jiang Jinfeng is here too?"

Song Muyu didn’t have time to answer and bolted out the door.

Mrs. Song followed closely behind.

"What’s going on here? Did that Jiang boy bring gangsters?" Mrs. Song’s tone was steeped in contempt.

"Madam, I’m not sure either," the housekeeper replied, clearly uneasy about the situation and rushed to report. "Mr. Jiang and Miss Muyu’s assistant, Qi Yun, were waiting in the car.

As soon as Miss Muyu entered the house, two more cars suddenly arrived. Judging from the scene, it looks like Mr. Pei’s assistants and Ludao’s local manager."

"Pei Liyan’s assistant?" Mrs. Song paused, frowning. "Quick! Stop them from fighting. They’re embarrassing us right outside our house!"

"Yes!" The housekeeper, knowing Mrs. Song’s concern with appearances, quickly called the driver and the maid to mediate.

But when Mrs. Song stepped outside, she was dumbfounded.

Not only were they fighting.

Even Song Muyu, upon stepping outside, joined the fray.

Song Muyu charged into the crowd and stood by Qi Yun and Jiang Jinfeng’s sides. "Mr. Lu, Mr. Fang, what are you trying to do?"

"Miss Song, this matter doesn’t concern you," Fang Mo replied.

"Muyu, they’re trying to take Qi Yun away," Jiang Jinfeng said.

Song Muyu immediately turned to Fang Mo. "Is that true?"

Fang Mo didn’t deny it.

Song Muyu frowned deeply. "I may not know your true intentions, but Qi Yun is my assistant. No one can take her away without my permission."

"Miss Song, fists and kicks don’t discern. Please step aside," Lu Heming said, giving her some face out of respect for Song Xun.

But Song Muyu laughed coldly. Moments ago, her mother’s inexplicable attempt to arrange a marriage had already agitated her heart with unspoken frustration.

Now, with no place to vent her anger, she welcomed the opportunity to release it.

Without a word, Song Muyu stepped forward and threw a punch at Fang Mo.

Fang Mo was caught off guard, quickly retreating to dodge her attack.

Song Muyu didn’t hesitate, following up with a low sweeping kick to continue her offensive.

Jiang Jinfeng and Qi Yun were also stunned by her actions, immediately joining the fight.

Jiang Jinfeng engaged Lu Heming.

Qi Yun tackled the six bodyguards, while Song Muyu focused on Fang Mo.

In an instant, the two sides were locked in an intense brawl.

Mrs. Song, seeing that even Song Muyu was fighting—and her punches were sharp and swift—was utterly shocked.

"How can Muyu possibly know how to fight?" she exclaimed, suddenly realizing that her daughter was almost a stranger to her.

At that moment, Fang Mo couldn’t dodge in time and took a kick from Song Muyu. Forced to counterattack, he accidentally struck her in the abdomen.

"Ugh!" She gasped in pain.

Qi Yun’s eyes sharpened as she noticed, swiftly kicking Fang Mo in retaliation.

Fang Mo was startled—he hadn’t truly intended to hurt Song Muyu.

Yet when he saw her suddenly pale and appear in extreme discomfort...

"Fang Mo!" Qi Yun angrily shouted his name, her voice chilling as she lunged at him again. "How dare you harm Miss Song! You’ll pay for this!"

Song Muyu, clutching her belly, felt her already fragile body take another blow. A rush of warmth spread from her abdomen.

Blood began to flow down her leg, streaking onto her white shoes.

"Blood!" someone cried out in alarm.
