LUCIAN’S POV

Laying in bed, Conri’s soft snore made me smile as I watched the rays of the sun hit the window in the early morning. We had escaped the KODA council offices three days after by luck. That Raph Isla had intentions that were not pure made me wonder what else he was hiding.

Conri informed me that Levi had stolen the maps of the mine and he had brought them to the construction site. To make it juicier, I learned Levi was mated to Everest. It was such good news, and even when Alpha Lobo had summoned them to the KODA council; they had brushed him off, and they left him in an angry state.

I could feel the change in the wind but also felt that danger was still lurking.

The buzzing on my phone made me snap out of my thoughts and heard Conri murmur, "Who the hell would call us so early"

Checking the caller ID, I saw Everest’s name. I answered the call and put it on speaker " Why are calling me so early "

"I hope I am on speaker phone as Conri needs to hear this," Everest stated hurriedly, with a panic in his voice.

"You are "I announced.

"Good. Our contact at the airport has called and informed us that Hunter has been asking about Rex. Someone snapped a video of Rex and sent it to him. By now, they know Rex is alive. "Everest informed us.

"What?" I yelled as I watched Conri’s eyes widen.

"Yes. And to make it worse, our contact at Lobo’s office tells us that Hunter left with his dogs for the mines. It seems they are searching for something "

"Shit" Conri sat up on the bed and ran his hands across his face in frustration.

"Do you know what they are looking for?" Everest pressed on.

"I would rather not say, "I responded.

"Okay fine. You are so tightlipped. Anyway, I have organized our men to follow them and find out what is happening. I have also arranged a flight for Rex into Russia. I have some old military friends who are going to keep him safe for now. "

"Thank you, Everest"

"How long ago did the men leave for the woods ?" Conri spoke up.

"Early dawn" Everest reported.

"Thank you, "Conri stated and got off the bed. I watched him pull on his pants and walked towards the door.

"Keep us updated, "I said and disconnected the call.

"Where the fuck do you think you are going? " I yelled at Conri as I got off the bed and pulled on my pants.

He turned around as his hair fell off his shoulders. " I need to get to Tizheruk"

"You are the only one who knows what he is. Do you think he would let them find him?" I reasoned with Conri.

"He is in danger, "Conri emphasized.

"He is not a weak creature. You underestimate him"

We heard a loud bang from the back door, and we both rushed to the patio. We found Tizheruk bowling in fits of laughter on the patio chairs. I could see the tension go out of Conri’s shoulders, but the thunderous expression remained on his face.

"What are you laughing about ?"

"You do know I have a good hearing. I heard you mate defending me while you remained in worry," Tizheruk said in between bouts of laughter.

"You are too much. " Conri rubbed his face.

"Why are you here? " I walked over to sit on the chair beside him.

"Hiding," He said and shrugged his shoulders.

"There is a hunting party in search of you, "Conri informed him and crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"I am well aware. My contact at Lobo’s office told me so," Tizheruk stated.

"What?" Conri and I yelled at the same time.

"You do have a basement, right? I need to lie low for a week or so. " Tizheruk stood up. "I need a supply of clothes and food "

"Stop right there. You have contacts in Lobo’s office?"

"Yes. A man I saved after Hunter threw him away. He swore his life to me. He is my mole," Tizheruk smiled.

"When?" Conri Demanded.

"Five years ago. I needed to know what was going on. I could not have men sneaking into the woods all the time to kill you, "Tizheruk pointed out.

"That is why the hunters became less over the past five years. It was all you’re doing"

"You are welcome," Tizheruk stood up. "I need to be inside the bunker. Do you know that Lobo Aria has been coming to the Freki land to watch you?"

"When?" Conri growled.

"A day ago. I spotted him at night. "Tizheruk stated.

"Shit" I cursed.

"I suggest you increase the security wall to fifty kilometers. This way you can sense him miles away" Tizheruk was already pulling the back door open and entered the house.

"Is he for real?" Conri asked.

"You wanted to keep him safe, now is your chance" I laughed and stood up. We followed the Tizheruk into the house and closed the door.

"The bunker is downstairs," I spoke up and beckoned him to follow me. Once inside, Conri and I showed the Tizheruk the place plus the food store.

"Your father was the one behind this, right?" Tizheruk smiled.

"Yes, why ?"

"A day will come when this will be in use. The danger is still lurking, and the fight for power increased by the day." Tizheruk stated as he walked to the bedroom and left us in the bunker sitting room.

We listened in as we heard him fall asleep and a soft snore followed after. We left the bunker and went straight into the kitchen to make breakfast.

"What if someone sees him?" Conri asked.

"I will say he is a distant cousin from Texas." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Cousin? You look nothing alike, "Conri chuckled.

"No one is going to question me. I will not allow them near him," I smirked.
