EVEREST POV

I curled around the city council building as Levi had instructed, deep in shock, and packed by the back exit of the building.

Levi Isla had once again proved that he was loyal to me. I found myself deep in regret as I kept pushing him away over the years. The fact that he was my true mate made me happy. There was no way Sable, my wolf, would have mated with him if he weren’t. I had my doubts until when he collapsed.

In my arms, Sable had growled the words "Mate"

"He is wonderful" I heard Sable push the words through my mind link.

"He is trouble," I remarked.

"We need him. We must protect him at all costs. "Sable insisted.

I huffed and noticed Levi rushing towards the car in a hurry. I switched on the car as Levi jumped in and yelled, "Let’s go! "There were two men following him as we sped off from the city hall offices.

"Who are those men chasing after you?" I demanded.

"Alpha Lobo men. They were waiting for me as I left the building by the front entrance. So I decided to make a rush for it. "

"Where are the documents?" I asked as I sped through the streets and disappeared on the main road.

We got to the construction site and found the place was already busy as the workers had already arrived. The gates opened as we skidded in, in a hurry, and the door of the construction site office opened as Conri stepped out.

Jumping out of the car, Levi rushed towards Conri" Good morning"

"What are you up to?" Conri raised his eyebrow as he stared at the envelope in his hands.

"Let us talk inside the office where there are less prying eyes. "I remarked as Levi rushed by Conri and Conri turned to me in question.

Conri smiled, and we walked into the construction site. Once seated, I narrated what happened when I dropped Levi at the City council offices.

An hour later, after comparing the original land titles with the documents, we realized that Alpha Lobo had encroached on the Conri’s land by five acres.

"We need to have a solid plan. They came for Levi. If we let them take him, he shall end up dead. If you act irrationally, then you will endanger him. Lobo Aria is not your average Alpha. He is a person who can pin a crime on you in seconds and have your mate exiled or jailed. "

"I have a plan. You need to trust me, "Levi interjected and walked towards me. He stood there, baring his heart and soul at me. "You need to let me handle this. I have been prepared for this since Elder Zaya recruited me.

Hunter was standing by the gate, his two wolves by his side, accompanied by four pack enforcers.

"We are here to arrest Levi Isla," Hunter stated and raised his chin.

"Arrest? "Levi feigned innocence. "Under what charges would you want to arrest me?"

"Yes. The city council has reported that you violated the code of conduct and took out some documents from the office this morning. "Hunter stated.

"This morning? I was in the office and then handed in my leave form to the HR. I rushed out because I wanted to spend time with my mate and I had kept him waiting for a while in the car, "Levi chuckled.

Hunter’s eyes widened as his eyes darted towards Everest.
