CONRI’S POV

I never realized how exhausted I was as we spent the whole day sleeping. Elder Zaya woke us up for dinner later and then Lucian went back to sleep.

We stood by the patio at the open balcony of the Freki resort that had a full view of Mount Chugach with Elder Zaya having a nightcap.

" How is he doing ?" Elder whispered as we enjoyed the night sky view of the Alaskan sky.

" He is exhausted and traumatized," I responded.

" Don’t worry. He will get better. Uncle Cadman and Commander Abram will not let them off. "

" They are just pawns of Chaka, the son of Aipaloovik. At first, I thought this would affect Charry but she has come out strong. Why would they all want power? I never even asked for it " I seethed.

"Oh my child, you were born with power and that is the difference between you and them. For now, you need to stay close to your Lucian. Assure him that he is safe" Elder Zaya pressed a kiss on my cheek and left for the night back to her home.

I walked back to the bedroom and Lucian’s eyes snapped open. " Come to bed. " Nodding, I got into bed, pulled him into an embrace, and willed my body to sleep.

" I can feel the wheels in your head turning Conri" Lucian murmured.

" Only death can resolve this matter " I stated firmly.

"Husband, I don’t want their blood in your hands " I urged him.

" You don’t understand Lucian, even if I don’t take action, the pack members will not let them off. Especially Uncle Cadman and Command Abram. " I explained.

He turned to look at me with wide eyes and asked " Uncle Cadman?"

" Yes. He was the one who started the hunt and kept at my pace with Commander Abram. He values you as a son and he will not rest until those fucking bastards pay "

" Fine then. Try and sleep, Leo. You need to calm yourself. I understand that you are angry. But my mind is messed up at this point and I need you more. It’s selfish but I need you more. "

" Yes my love" I responded in agreement. Sleep eluded me for hours but the laxed body of Lucian pulled me in and I finally fell asleep.

It was quite late at night when I heard the door of the room being knocked. Anisha walked in and beckoned me to join her outside the room. I quietly slid out of bed, being careful not to awaken Lucian.

I closed the door of the room behind me and turned to her. " What is it?"

" Uncle Cadman and Commander Abram are requesting your presence at the foot of the mountain. I am sorry but this cannot wait, " Anisha insisted.

" Okay. But Lucian cannot be left alone. " I nodded.

" I already stopped Elder Zaya from going back. I called her just as she left the Freki Resort Mansion." Anisha supplied.

" Give me a few minutes. I need to take my coat " I nodded at her and walked back to the room. Lucian was still deep in sleep and changed my clothes and left him a note just in case he woke up.

" Lil Pup, I am off to the foot of the mountain to run. Will be back later"

Zeeb was already in the car and waved at Anisha as drove up. When we arrived at the foot of the mountain Dolf rose in anger. The sight that greeted me made him growl as Judy, Enid, and Chaka were on their needs, chains and I could tell that Commander Abram’s mountain magic held them down.

" Alpha Conri, you are here " Commander Abram boomed. " I brought these evil beings to you after subduing them. They committed such a crime. It seems that Chaka was hiding in the mountains watching the whole show. He snuck into Chugach prison using an underground tunnel that Aipaloovik had already created. But I have managed to seal the whole prison and brought them here for punishment. "

I slowly walked over and stared down at them. They both looked down with terror but Chaka held his head high " You kidnapped my mate, electrocuted him, and slashed him with a knife. How should I repay you for what you did?"

" The crimes are punishable by death " Uncle Cadman growled.

I nodded and then smiled at Uncle" How about death by fire? I could toast these two and get over it "

" Do it elsewhere. I dont want my forest smelling of burnt bodies"

Judy shook her head and said " Spare me. I will confess "

" You traitor" Chaka seethed at her and we watched Commander Abram seal Chaka’s mouth.

" Do you honestly believe that I am not aware that you did not come up with this plan? Your parents planned this and used you as tools. How foolish can you be to be dragged into hatred and crimes for your parents? And please dont tell me you are being filial. If you are killed today, no one will care " I snickered.

’ I dont want to die. I already lost my shifter powers, it’s already cruel enough " Judy cried and begged.

" How many crimes have you committed in the past, you crazy woman? Why should you be let off ?" I responded in anger.

" I was foolish and vengeful. But I dont want to die " She sobbed.

" How did you do it? " I asked her.

" Do what?" She looked at me, eyes bewildered.

" Subdue Lucian" My eyes blazed at her.

She was quiet for a while and then she said" I will tell you. But please go easy on me. "

" You are truly shameless. " Uncle Cadman snickered.

She huffed and whispered " Your mate Lucian’s kind heart was the way to do it. He is a Freki wolf and is the epitome of kindness for wolves. Hence when he got in the car I only needed to measure how happy he was. He was in a rush and we caught him off guard. Freki wolves are allergic to mercury"

" What do you mean ?"

" Freki wolf is allergic to mercury hence we harness it into incense and put it in the car"

" How do you know so much about Freki wolves ?" I demanded.

" Because my mother was the old maid, Silvanna, who worked at the Freki mansion. She gave birth to me secretly and I was raised by Alistar. The night your mother died, she was there and took a blow and died on the spot " Judy whispered.

" Stop talking bitch, " Enid yelled.

" I dont want to die" She pouted.

" You are Silvanna’s daughter? No wonder I felt the familiarity." Uncle Cadman’s voice rose as his eyes pierced at her.

" Yes. " Judy hiccuped.

" So you know all the secrets of the Freki wolf. " I demanded.

" Yes. And if you spare me I will be loyal to you for the rest of my life." She hiccuped and if you promise to remove the string of fate that he had tied on my body hence I will remain loyal to him and do his bidding. He had been controlling me for years " She pointed at Enid.

" What ?" Uncle Cadman demanded.

She pulled her sleeve and there was indeed a tattoo of a string that was embedded in her body."

" So if you dont do her bidding, he controls it right? " Uncle Cadman walked over to Enid but his eyes were glued on Enid who looked unbothered.

Judy nodded "It’s painful"

" What is this?’ I asked Uncle Cadman.

" Ancient magic that is only found in wolves. When a wolf child is disobedient, the string is used to control them and make them obedient. I never expected your mate would be this cruel " Uncle Cadman shook his head in disbelief.

"I am learning new things every day. The amount of madness that surrounds greed is too much" Commander Abram seethed.

" Hold her " Uncle Cadman commanded Commander Abram.

They held her down as he chanted a few words. Judy was screaming while the string glowed and came out of her hand. It landed on the ground and burst into flames and Judy fell on the ground unconscious.

" I will take her under my wing for now. I think she will be of great use to Lucian since she was Silavanna’s daughter. She does not know it but she has the scroll of the witch’s magic in her blood. That is why you needed her, right? The witch’s magic transfer is why kidnapped Lucian hoping that Judy would remember and do it for you" Uncle Cadman stated.

" She is my mate, " Enid yelled.

" Is she?" Uncle Cadman gowled. " You just found someone to drag into your evil and make your plans. "

" Fuck you " Enid yelled and Commander Abram must have lost his patience as he slit his throat and snapped Enid’s head from his body. We watched as blood splattered on the ground and Chaka’s eyes widened in fear.

" There is nothing I hate more than a foul mouth" Commander Abram snickered and then turned to Chaka. " You better confess all your crimes to me or you will end up like him" He pointed at Enid.

" We shall take it from here. We just wanted you to be present when these three confessed Alpha Conri " Commander Abram.

" Let me know when this Judy gives you something concrete. I am going back home." I nodded and walked to the car where Zeeb was leaning on and staring into the forest trees.

" Is it done? Lucian texted me and said that you had better not have any blood in your hands’ ’ Zeeb spoke up.

"I don’t. Commander Abram took care of everything, " I explained.

" Great. " He said as he got into the car and I joined him and we drove back to Freki Resort Mansion.
