ASPENS POV

Ma was back in Chugach with Elder Zaya when she collapsed and the pack doctor diagnosed her with bone corroding disease. Thankfully, Lucian, Conri, and Tizheruk had moved swiftly and used the power of Freki blood, the Serpent sea god, and the King of Wolves to heal her.

Hence days later when Elder Zaya was up and about, Ma summoned Commander Abram, Jerusha, Oliver, and home. Commander Abram suggested that we needed to invite Ma over to our house. Hence he sent the car to pick up Ma, Keith, Addison, and Elder Zaya at our new house.

Once they arrived I could feel the tension that radiated from Commander Abram’s body as he moved to stand before me in a protective stance I noted that Ma and Addison were glaring at us and then Elder Zaya appeared and said’’ The two of you better stop before you scare your sons mates away.``

She walked past them and pulled my hand as we walked into the vast living room. Her eyes twinkled as she stated, " Aspen, I love what you have done with the interior deco. I can tell this is all you. "

"Of course " I nodded.

" Cut it out Aspen," Addison snapped.

" Why would you yell ?" Elder Zaya blazed at her.

She seemed shocked for a minute before she responded. " I am sorry. It seems that the pack has been thrown into turmoil since the Battalion came and settled with their brother. Everyone is wondering how they are mates. Addison stated as she pulled Ma to sit with her.

" Turmoil? How is anyone’s business?" My eyes flashed in anger.

" Hunter is still the pack enforcer. How do you expect him to keep his head high with all the gossip?" Ma scolded me.

" Who the fuck is gossipping " Commander Abram spoke up and power radiated off him and it surprised everyone in the room. But I was calm and responded " Calm down. Your anger is bouncing off you"

" The pack members are taking advantage of this because we are hybrids that have settled in the pack. " Jerusha snickered.

" I fear no one but our mate " Oliver pointed out.

" No need to fight. I will ask Conri to handle this" Elder Zaya patted my arm.

" I will not have my mate threatened or slandered, " Commander Avram spoke up.

" This is what they want. They will push you until you snap. You need to build a wall around your anger and make sure no one pushes you to engage in a fight or create war. " Elder Zaya advised.

" I have no interest in being a member of a pack. I only came to Chugach for Aspen and Uncle Cadman. Lucian has been a good friend and I owe him alot. And I came here because the place felt like family. What is your concern, Mrs. Hemming? " I asked.

She was silent for a minute before she responded " Aspen is my baby child. To be informed his mates are the four of you, killer hybrids was a shocker. I am still not sure how to react. What is your origin, where are your parents, or your relatives? Where do you come from? I know Lucian will vouch for you but do you have enemies that will come after you and Aspen will be hurt?"

" You need to address this concern" Elder Zaya.

" Agreed, " Addison added.

"I understand Mrs. Hemming. We all grew up in an orphanage and had no parents. We keep a low profile and have no other relatives but we maintain a small curly of friends. We met Lucian when we were deployed overseas. We have twenty villas in different countries, each country has a bank account with over one hundred million dollars. In terms of wealth, we share it equally. Our job has always been dangerous but I wonder if you know the strength of your son?"

" What do you mean ?" Mrs. Hemming raised her eyebrows.

" Aspen is an Alpha Gold wolf," Jerusha announced.

" What ?" Addison, Keith, and Mrs. Hemming all yelled.

" Yes. Aspen is an Alpha Gld Wolf ’’ I repeated what Jerusha had announced. " His wolf chose the mates and it chose us. "

" Explain," Addison pointed at me.

" My wolf was dormant until they came to Canada. Since then it roared and demanded for its mate. The rest is history" Aspen stated.

" Oh my " Elder Zaya’s eyes twinkled.

" Are you saying my son does not have protection ?" Mrs. Hemming raised his eyebrows in question.

" Yes. Your son’s power is extensive and vast. A few days ago he helped me master the power of the mountains. I must say that Aspen is gifted and a powerful shifter wolf. " Commander Abram responded.

" Power of the mating bond" Elder Zaya nodded. " They are destined to be together. Let them be " She spoke to Mrs. Hemming.

" All I know is that they are my mates. Simple. I don’t care about the wealth they have immersed over the years, I only care about them." I responded.

" You can be a romantic man at times" Addison teased and all the tension in the room evaporated.

" Enough talk about serious matters. Show me the kitchen I want to prepare some food for you" Elder Zaya stood up and Oliver rushed to hold her arm and Mrs. Hemming followed.

Once they left the room Addison was the first to speak and he said " Call Hunter and ensure that the pack rumors end" She pointed at Commander Abram who nodded, stood up pulled out his cell phone, and was immediately on the phone.

" Are you okay ?" Jerusha asked me.

" I am fine" I nodded and smiled with affection.

Commander Abram walked back and sat next to me and said " Don’t worry. Hunter has promised to take care of everything. There won’t be any gossip in the pack. And if anyone dares they will face the wrath of Alpha Conri "

" I like that, " Addison nodded. " I wonder what Hunter will say when he discovers that you are an Alpha Gold Wolf "

" Keep your mouth shut" I pointed at Addison and Keith who had been silent all this time responded " No need to yell at her"

"Oh boy, " Jerusha chuckled.

" I better join Ma in the kitchen " And with those words, she had disappeared while we heard the loud bubble of laughter that came.

" I sometimes wonder how we are related " I shook my head.

" Why are you so calm? " Keith asked as his eyes bore at me.

" It’s the nature of his wolf, " Commander Abram announced.

Two hours later, we sat down for a hearty dinner. Hunter and Tala joined us.

" How are your brothers? " Elder Zaya asked.

" Those damn bastards are merciless. They are feeding like starved beasts. " Tala huffed and we all burst out in laughter at her words.

"Just wait until you have your own " Elder Zaya pointed at her Tala and she shuddered.

" I have been working hard on the same. Hunter interjected and Tala bared her teeth at him and everyone burst out in laughter.

" It’s good to have some peace" Mrs. Hemming nodded.

" Yes " We all responded in unison.

" I hope you have not eaten all the food " Uncle Cadman’s voice rose from the door.

" You are here " Commander Abram was the first to rise in respect and I immediately followed suit.

" In the flesh" He smirked.

" Have a seat " I pointed at the empty chair and rushed to the kitchen to get him a plate. I was back at the table and set it for him and saw the small smile that played on Commander Abram’s lips.

" What is there to smile about? " I scolded him.

" You make a fine wife" Commander Abram teased and I slapped him on the back.

" You are too much. ’’ I blushed and when I looked up there were shocked looks on everyone’s faces. " What ?"

" You hit him "Tala’s jaw dropped.

"Of course " I nodded and continued to eat.

" I need to have guts like yours, " Tala muttered.

" I have a secret to tell you " Addison whispered at Hunter and everyone at the table except for Hunter and Tala yelled at her " Shut up"

She burst out in laughter and stamped her feet happily and her eyes twinkled.

" Ma, is she adopted? How can Hunter and I be related to her? " I complained.

Ma laughed and responded " All of you are my children. Now understand how powerful your father was. I wonder if Addison’s cheekiness is a mere cover to hide the true nature of her wolf "

" Ma" Addison yelled and lowered her head in embarrassment.

" Well," Keith smirked.

Addison took a knife from the table and pointed it at Keith" Don’t" Her actions made all of us burst out in laughter and I was the most amused. " Keith, I will pay you handsomely if you can tell me "

" No money can make me betray my mate," Keith responded.

" How romantic, " Elder Zaya chuckled.

"It sounded gross" Hunter pointed out and I saw the way my mates nodded in agreement.

"Being mated does that to you " Elder Zaya grinned and we all smiled at her. Her presence had created warmth and Ma had relaxed and seemed to accept my mates. Commander Abram winked at me and a large smile remained plastered on my face.
