Conri, Alexander, and I left for the seabed cleansing and finding the old sea god’s pearl nest at dawn. Alexander led the way and I created a bubble that allowed Conri to ride on my back under water. Surprisingly Lucian remained behind with Elder Zaya, Mrs. Hemming, and Haida and I could sense the worry in Dolf because of that little factor.

" I am worried. ’’ Dolf pushed the words through to our mind link.

" I know. " I responded back and then added " He is safe back with Haida and Charry.

" That is not it. I think that there is something more, " Dolf insisted.

" He will tell you in due time " I assured him.

It took us five hours to get to the sea bed spot under the pearl farm. Alexander slowed down in the water and signaled me to look ahead. I sensed Tabular even before I spotted it floating on Cordelia’s body that lay on the sea bed next to the large broken pearl.

" What the fuck " Conri whispered as the sight before us was like one from a demonic scene. Black Aura laced the forest bed where Cordelia lay. I had only seen this level of black Aura on Aipaloovik.

" Let me out my Lord " Meglado boomed.

" Not yet " I responded as I assessed the situation. The waters around us changed color instantly to purple and we heard Yari’s loud voice " Mother Sea awakens"

" That is not the mother sea, " Meglado responded.

We all watched as Tabular sank into Cordelia and then she stood up from the sea bed and turned to us. I could tell that she was just a shell that Tabular used but there was something more. I sensed the power of shifters and pearls embedded in her blood.

" So this is the famous serpent sea god " Cordelia’s voice reached my ears.

" Cordelia, you are an abomination " Alexander responded.

" Little serpent, my reincarnation has just begun. I know what you did to my husband Aipaloovik and I will take my revenge.

" Who cares about your husband? " Conri snickered.

Her eyes landed on Conri and her eyes widened and she floated a few meters back.

" Adora, " She whispered in shock.

" Surprise " Adora’s voice boomed.

" What an eyesore. You choose a punitive human to inhabit " She laughed.

" What about me? " Ranbart spoke up. " Don’t be fooled, that is not Cordelia. But the real Aipaloovik. He was evil enough to push his core into Cordelia. Merging with Tabular a vile creature is born. They used the blood of serpent creatures to revive her"

" Impossible " Cordelia looked at Conri in shock.

" I would beg to differ. The King of Wolves is no punitive human" Alexander spoke up.

" Mmh " Cordelia nodded and then released her power in the sea bed. The whole sea bed rumbled and we watched as it parted and the pearl nest slipped into the bed and disappeared. She then closed the sea bed, twirled in the water, and came alive, dressed anew, and had a canny resemblance to Charry.

" My eyes are failing me " Alexander whispered.

" They are not. That is the human form that she has taken. " Yari’s voice boomed.

" Ancient spear? You betrayed your mother " Cordelia seethed and her voice made the sea bed rumble.

" There is no need to talk to her" I informed Alexander.

" You are right. I don’t have time to talk to you. But we shall soon meet the serpent sea god. Adora, I will not forget what you did to me. You are the first person that I will take out." And with that, she disappeared into thin air.

" Stupid magic trick " Meglado voiced.

The seabed continued to rumble and then the voice in the ocean could be heard. " Bering, it’s been a long since I felt fear coming from your body "

" Mother sea " I gasped.

" Sea god, since when are you afraid.? Your mate is the immortal sea god and now you have the prince and princess. They are not a weakness but your strength. Your spear and your General and his spear and even the King of wolves whose power is unimaginable and yet I sensed your fear a few minutes ago. I am disappointed. "

" As you command, " Alexander and I responded.

" The sea bed had been cleaned up," Alexander added.

" It is all thanks to the mother sea. We must heed her command" I responded as I swam back to Sitka. We arrived at the beach and once Conri got off we shifted back to human form and stood staring into the sea.

" Do you think that all the evil that has been in our lives led to this day? " Conri spoke up.

" Even as immortal and gods, there will always be an evil being ready to cause havoc. Is this what is called the balance of the world?" I responded to Conri.

" Why did the mother sea say you were scared of my Lord ?" Alexander asked.

" Since the birth of my babies, I have been afraid. Afraid to let the serpent shifters suffer and I will let them down. When it comes to protecting them, I will choose Haida and her babies. That is the fear that the mother sea felt. " I confessed.

" It’s only natural to have your mate protected first. You will not be letting down the serpent shifters. You have me, General Alexander, Charry, Lucian, and the rest of the Golden Shifter pack behind you. Your wife Haida is majestic and formidable. How could you doubt yourself? ?"

" I was given a human form after all" I chuckled.

" I am more worried. What if Charry finds out that Cordelia’s human form is a spitting image of her? How will she take it? I am going to go crazy, " Alexander whispered.

" I have a feeling that Esme and Daria would know where to find Cordelia, ’’ Conri stated.

" That is true and even Mother Sea already said that Asheral will be instrumental in capturing Cordelia. " I responded.

" What are we going to tell them when we get back? " Alexander asked.

" The truth. Especially Charry. She needs to know what is coming and that Cordelia is a mad woman who is going to confuse all of us. " I seethed.

" Let’s go back, the sun is about to set, " Conri encouraged us.

We got back to the villa just as darkness fell into Sitka and the clear night sky rose. Haida and Lucian were seated by the balcony as Elder Zaya, Asheral, and Mrs Hemming were fawning over the babies and Charry stood by the window on guard.

" We are back " Alexander announced and rushed over to embrace a shocked Charry. " What do you think you are doing ?" Charry demanded.

" I missed you so much, " Alexander responded.

" Stop it " She scolded him but the blush that rose from her neck was obvious.

" What is wrong? " Lucian stood up as he approached Conri and Haida had the same worried look.

" Let us all have a seat and Alexander will explain what happened " I responded to Lucian.

Alexander took time to explain what happened and when got to the part where Cordelia looked exactly like Charry.

" What do you mean ?" Charry demanded.

" She is a spitting image of you " Alexander informed her.

" How is that possible?" Haida asked.

" I am an orphan. It was the guards that found me by the beach and I was raised by them. It was Alexander who made me his guard at a young age, " Chary explained.

" I have a feeling that you are related to Cordelia, " Asheral stated.

" Shit " Charry cursed and Haida shook her head in disbelief.

" What do we do?" Elder Zaya asked.

" We need to find Cordelia. And I bet that Esme and Daria know where to find her" Conri spoke up.

" Agreed. " Asheral stated and stood up.

" You all need rest. We can do this first thing tomorrow morning. " Mrs. Hemming stated.

" Conri and I are going back to Chugach," Lucian announced. The Jet is ready "

I could see the surprised look on Conri’s face but he covered it quickly and said " That is true. There are urgent matters that we need to sort out. We shall be back once done."

" What is going on ?" I pushed the words to Conri through the mind link.

" I have no idea but I need to comply with his demands and go back. I will let you know how it goes" I pushed the words back.
