We all convened at Alexander’s mansion and Elder Zaya joined as Haida and Mrs. Hemming remained back at the villa.

Elder Cynthia arrived as the Sitka council members arrived one by one and they seemed surprised to see Conri, Lucian, and Elder Zaya at Alexander’s office. Charry stood by the door on guard while Alexander sat by the high seat next to me flagged by Asheral on the other chair.

" Thank you all for coming on such short notice. " Elder Cynthia spoke up. " My Lord, what do you need ?"

" I would like to know if anyone knows Aipaloovik?." I spoke up.

Three council members looked blank but Esme’s and one council member’s reactions were too obvious. She fidgeted and looked away. I remained silent in waiting and felt the impatience that rose in Dolf and Meglado.

" The scent of Aipaloovik does not fade away," Conri spoke and the power he released was so great that everyone in the room winced.

" Child, what did you do ?" Asheral demanded and Esme’s eyes widened.

We watched the other female council member’s face drained in shock while Esme stood up and attempted to run. I raised my hand and knocked her down and I stood up in anger.

" How dare you" I seethed at her. "On your knees’ ’ I commanded and the other council member lowered herself on her knees.

"Speak, " Conri growled and the room shook.

"Cordelia was my best friend. When she married Aipaloovik her serpent shifter’s health drained so fast and she was dead within a year. We tried everything, all the magic that we could think of but she died. I was heartbroken but Aipaloovik went mad. He preserved her body and kept looking for a way to revive her. But the people surrounding Aipaloovik got greedy and I resorted to telling him about Tabular. " Esme confessed and Asheral stood up so fast and backhanded her a slap that forced her head backward.

" How dare you? I confessed to you about Tabular since you are my daughter. How dare you use it to betray my Lord " Asheral growled and then turned to the female council member. " What is your excuse?"

" Cordelia was my sister, " She responded.

Asheral maniacal laughter was filled with anger and pain " Oh I remember you. You are the younger sister, Daria is your name. "

" My sister is none of your business. Aipaloovik loved Cordelia. He has tried everything to revive her and his love knows no boundaries. Why would I not help him ?." She seethed.

" Aipaloovik is dead. " Conri spoke up.

" What ?" Both Esme and Daria yelled.

" We killed him, " Lucian added in a bored tone.

" No" Daria shook her head in disbelief.

" Evil will never reside as long as we exist, " Conri growled.

" No please, my sister must be saved. She is the reincarnation of the second sea goddess" Daria stated.

" What kind of nonsense are you babbling about? ’’ Asheral demanded.

" The old seer of the serpent shifters told me that Cordelia will be reincarnated as the sea goddess. That means that that bitch Haida that you married is not the goddess of the sea " Daria sprouted.

" Madness" Yari’s voice boomed and then he came out of Alexander and stood before us in human form.

" What the hell?" Daria whispered.

" You have been fooled. The old see is my mother. She is now locked up in Mount Chugach. I am counting the days before she dies. " Yari smirked. " You see Ma is good at fooling people and as a seer, she lost her site a long time ago. The gods took it from her when she started committing evil. "

" What ?" Esme gasped.

" Surprised? Do you know how many shifters Apaloovik killed? He used shifter power to keep her alive. How dare you collude with him ?" Yari’s voice boomed at Daria.

"My sister is the next sea goddess " Dara emphasized.

"Your sister is nothing but dead when I find her " I calmly said. " She will never exist in this lifetime and the next one. "

" No" Esme shook her head in despair.

" Cordelia will never be reborn. " I declared.

" Good. You need to deal with these two traitors " Elder Zaya spoke up.

Esme turned to her and said "Your brother Izak Dolf is not innocent"

" I already took care of Uncle," Conri responded. " He has very little time to live. And all the people who supported Aipaloovik, I took away their shifter powers "

" You did what ?" One of the council members gasped.

" The King of Wolves took away all their shifter powers. " Lucian repeated and Esme staggered back crawling on the floor in fear.

" Shifter powers are gifts from gods. Shifters should protect other shifters. But you chose wrong. Sacrificing shifters wolves, vampires, and serpents. Occupying the sea gods’ pearl nest, do you know how cruel fate will be to you when you are reborn? " I spoke up.

" My Lord, I will agree to whatever punishment you bestow her. I will also take part in the punishment " Asheral spoke up.

" No. Everyone will carry their cross " Elder Zaya spoke up.

" I agree, ’’ Lucian stated. " The choices we make have consequences. "

" Take their shifter’s powers away " Alexander seethed and he commanded Yari.

" Agreed " I nodded and Yari moved swiftly and pushed his powers into Esme and Daria they screamed in pain and tried to fight Yari’s powers but it was fruitless as he took away their shifter’s powers and in the end they both collapsed from the shock.

" Take them away" I instructed and Charry and the guards rushed to remove them from the room and we all remained silent and worried.

" I no longer know who to trust anymore, " Elder Cynthia huffed.

" A black heart will always be a black heart " Yari stated and went back into Alexander’s body.

" I am saddened by the occurrence of all these events. We have come a long way and at this point, I look at everyone as family. But greed seems to be at the heart of all evil. Contentment is no longer at the heart of all but coveting power is the cause of all these evil, deaths, and even massacres of so many shifters. " Elder Zaya spoke up. " Asheral, we all know and see your loyalty to Bering. But right now your daughter needs you. Go and be with her. A mother’s love cannot be replaced "

Asheral nodded and she left the room looking sad and torn.

" I will go with her " Cherry spoke up and left Alexander’s office with the guards hot on her tail.

" Elder Cynthia, heed my words today. " I spoke up.

" Yes my Lord" She hurriedly responded.

" Sitka no longer needs a council. "I declared.

" This is well noted my Lord. If you need anything, do not hesitate to ask" Elder Cynthia nodded as she stood up and dismissed the rest of the council members and they left Alexander’s office.

" What a nuisance, " Lucian huffed.

" Dolf scented Asheral’s lineage blood in Aipaloovik as we subdued him. It seems that Esme donated her blood. I am not sure if it’s too Aiplaloovik or Cordelia. I am afraid that if Tabula revives it can be that the host will be so evil and I guess that Aipaloovik had already corrupted Cordelia and what will awaken will no longer be a normal serpent shifter " Conri stated.

" I’m getting tired and impatient " I huffed. " I just want to raise my babies in a peaceful Sitka with no evil or shifters that are coveting powers.

" My bones are too tired and weary. " Elder Zaya added and Conri walked over placed an arm on her shoulder and patted his hand.

" Godmother, we better take you back to the villa. It seems that you are not ready to live in Sitka" Conri chuckled as he winked at me.

" I plan to stay here for a year or until you give me pups. ’’ She emphasized and we all burst out laughing as Lucian rubbed his neck in embarrassment.

" Don’t worry Godmother, a year is too long " Conri responded and Lucian scolded him " You better keep quiet. "

" No need to feel any embarrassment. You are just lagging on this matter " I teased Conri.

" I had forgotten you are such a mouthful" Conri muttered through gritted teeth.

" Compliment accepted. I am hungry, I hope Haida has cooked or I will starve to death. " I responded.

" My Lord, I don’t want to be a party pooper, ’’ Alexander said.

" Then dont be a party pooper " Lucian interjected as he dragged Conri out of the office.

" We need to go back to the pearl next to the sea bed and search for Tabular " Alexander voiced his thoughts as he stood at the door of his office and we all stopped short at the corridor exit.

" Why did we allow him to speak ?" Elder Zaya demanded.

" I have no problem silencing his mouth " I turned around.

" You know he is right, " Conri announced.

" Fine. Tomorrow. We can plan for it and go to the seabed at dawn. " I declared.

" Thank you my lord " Alexander responded happily. " I will arrange for us to go to the sea bed tomorrow.
