HUNTER’S POV

I was borderline angry when Simon called Tala. Jealousy mixed with anger turned into rage. My eyes blazed even more when she pushed me away and announced that I should not touch her. I had gone into the mountains and set camp at Chugach prison.

I spent two days preparing enforcers to hunt that rat Simon down. In every single corner of Chugach, I knew he would hide his ass and flash out all his contacts. I came up empty and it irritated me and the enforcers stayed clear of my path.

Two days after Anisha called me. "Hunter, we need to talk, "

" I will be there in twenty minutes," I said and disconnected the call.

I knew that Anisha was the one who had informed Tala that Simon was in town. And even hacked his phone. When I arrived at her office her eyes widened when she saw how cold my face was but she hid her fear and smiled. " Hunter, it’s good to see you "

I walked over to her and then embraced her. " How have you been? How is Zeeb?"

She stood her ground and answered. " Well enough"

We walked over to the couch at the corner of the office and sat down. Leaning back on the couch I waited for her to speak. I could see her fidgeting with her fingers and she composed herself.

" Spit it out Anisha" I commanded.

" Hunter, Tala is worried about you. I know that I should have shared the same information that I found on Simon with you. By the cold look on your face and anger in your eyes, I know you are angry."

"And ?" I pressed on.

" Hence I have some intel for you. I suspect that Simon called Lobo is facilitating his departure from Alaska. I will send you the contact on your phone" She responded.

" Since you can hack phones, you have all the deals we did together right? You know everything. And that is why you called me here. It’s a way of threatening me to make up with Tala." My eyes flashed at her.

" Yes," Anisha raised her chin.

" I know about my past. I will tell her in due time" My eyes blazed at Anisha. " But you need to back down from this issue. Simon is a crazy bastard and I don’t want Lucian to misunderstand. After all, you are his loving sister"

" Fine." She nodded.

" You need to promise me" I insisted.

" I promise Hunter. " She affirmed.

I sped off through the deserted streets while I took out my phone from my shirt pocket. There were over fifty missed calls from Tala and one message that read out " Hunter you fucking bastard. Do you know how much I am hurting? Am begging you to come home"

I stepped on the accelerator and drove like a madman. I arrived home and rushed. I was greeted by darkness as I strode across the living room. The bedroom door was open and the bedside lamp was lit. Tala was lying by the window, phone in her right hand and an empty bottle of whiskey in her left hand. I stood staring down at my mate while Hemming my wolf growled and all the love I felt for her washed over me.

I took the phone and the bottle from her hand and placed them on the table by the window. I picked her up from the floor and gently placed her on the bed. I undressed him, put fresh clothes on her, and then tucked her in bed. I took a shower and joined her in bed, placed a kiss on her forehead, and whispered " One day, you will understand my intentions, Tala Elijah."

It was hours before I fell asleep and when morning came I felt Tala stir and waited for her to get a bearing.

" I bet you have a nasty headache," I said.

" What the fuck are you doing here ?" She snapped.

" I have been here since you begged, " I responded.

She looked at me in surprise and then closed her eyes in embarrassment and then cursed " Fuck"

" Indeed. Let me ask you Tala, do you think that you have the right to decide when I can or not touch you?" I growled.

" I was a tad bit angry, " She responded. " And you went all psycho on me"

" You are right Tala. When it comes to you I am more than Psycho. Don’t ever push me away " I declared.

" Why the fuck would you be jealous of Simon? You do know my feelings for you. I am irrevocably in love with you and your mate. Yet you want to throw a fit " Tala scolded him.

" Did he tell you where he is ?" I asked.

" You already know all the information Anisha gave you," I retorted.

" Hahaha, yes of course. " I rubbed her back.

" What is strange is that Lucian’s Aunty Sasha called me too," Tala confessed.

" Are they connected? Did Simon hide in Texas?" I wondered out loud.

" Hunter, why would Simon have information about you and what is there to hide?" Tala asked.

" It’s a little bit complicated and I don’t want you to know the bad things that I did " I confessed.

" I don’t have a ring on my finger yet you want to control my life? Who gives you the right ?" She retorted.

Her words pushed me to press on on the bed, push her legs apart, and then rub our crotches together.

" Who says that I haven’t bought the ring? I just felt that It was too early and If I gave it to you, you would run " I confessed.

" You are driving me up the wall with your mood swings. ’’ Her eyes flashed at me but her body reacted by the way her breath hitched and a blush rose her neck.

" I missed you. Did you miss me?" I demanded.

" No" She looked away, hiding the desire in her eyes.

I pulled his chin and forced her to stare at me. " Did you miss me?"

" Yes," she responded. " I missed you so much, Hunter. I went crazy. I could not only drink myself to sleep. Are you happy now? Are you happy that you can lose control ?"

" Yes and No. " I pressed our lips together. " Yes, because I want you to be borderline crazy about me. And No because I hate to see you suffer. You are my mate"

" You are crazy "Tala’s eyes blinked and the emotions in them were clear.

Tala and I walked towards him and he stood his ground as his hands fisted on his side.

" What do you want? " He spoke up when we were a few feet away.

" To bid you farewell," Tala said. " I hope you never set foot in Sitka"

" What ?" He looked speechless.

" I know everything about Hunter’s past. There is nothing that you can threaten me with. I also know that Lobo is the one who has organized your departure. We shall let you go because we were once friends" Tala added.

" Exactly. This is a warning. Don’t ever set foot in Chugach again" I growled.

" If I do? " Simon raised his chin defiantly.

" We shall forget that we are friends. " Tala growled at him.
