ISAMU’S POV

The Yakuza meeting had already started by the time I got there. I listened at the door and heard the way the Yakuza members complained about the death of Kaka. One of the council members yelled " The Yakuza is appalled by the fact that Kaka died at the hands of shifters who cared nothing about the Tabular crystal. Did we all agree that the Isamu would ensure that the Tabular would benefit the Yakuza? What benefit did it give now that Kaka is dead?"

"Why not wait for Isamu to arrive before you utter such words " I heard Elder Kanji’s voice but there was no weight to his words.

"You dare deny it? " Another voice rose.

.That was my cue. I slowly walked into the hall that held the meeting without a care in the world and went to stand by the high windows. The council was about to offer their greetings but I raised my hand to stop them.

" Don’t mind me and continue" I stated.

Elder Amaya stood with Sayuri behind her and then Elder Kanji had distanced himself and stood near the door with his son Kaka.

"Do you deny these accusations?" One of the elders pushed the question to Elder Amaya. " Kaka was your brother and all you can do is weep? What about his life?

Elder Amaya was silent for a while and then responded to council elders "I know well about the loss of my brother Kaka. Do you think you have a right to ask me about him? Did you care about him when he was alive or did you use his death as a way to air out your grievances? I would request you to refrain from mentioning his death. You were not close to him and never showed any care for him."

Smart!! She had just put the old geezer in her place. But I knew this was just a temporary measure.

"The Yakuza council agreed that we would always be the best and the first in the world. But since outsiders came into the Yakuza we have lost our members and been attacked. What do you have to say about this? " Another elder yelled.

"You want war? " Sayuri stepped forward " Are you powerful enough to go to war yourselves? FIne. Go ahead and attack Tizheruk. And good luck with that since he is the one that took the Tabular"

There was pin-drop silence in the hall and the council members had looks of displeasure on their faces.

’ It’s not impossible to attack the Tizheruk ’’ Kaka spoke up and I finally knew who had fueled the anger inside the Yakuza council.

I cracked my neck side to side hearing the bones click and let out a satisfied moan at the tension that had been building. As if on cue, Elder Amaya composed herself and said " We cannot go into war blindly. We must protect ourselves. "

There was a murmur of agreement among the council members but Kaka continued" But we can’t keep hiding like rats"

"Then perhaps you should go and hunt the Tizheruk on your own. I am not ready to sacrifice another member of the council. Uncle Kaka spoke to me before he left. He said that he was willing to plant the Tabular in the pearl farm himself. It was a dangerous mission and he knew that he might not return. Do you know that I felt his death even before confirming the news?" Sayuri snapped back at him, her tone dark. Her voice was so threatening that it made the Yakuza council look at her in a new light.

"The Yakuza is never afraid of anyone " Kaka retaliated.

" I do remember your father being fooled by Conri and Lucian. I was the one who was left awake fighting for all of you" I spoke up. " Lobo lost the Tabular because you were careless Elder Kanji. And this resulted in Kaka’s death."

" That is true. If you had not let the wolves into the Yakuza, we would all be safe. Right now they have the Adora and the Tabular crystals. And to top it off, their powers are imaginable."

There were a few groans and sighs in response.

"Isamu, forgive me for speaking out but don’t you think bringing Lobo and Zineb into the Yakuza was a mistake?" One of the elders spoke.

"That’s ridiculous. How can you-" Sayuri yelled and Elder Amaya placed a hand on her shoulder to stop her.

"Mistake? How? " I asked.

"Since they came to Tochigi, have we succeeded in anything ?" One elder demanded.

"There was no one who was able to wield and control Tabular. Lobo made it a success right? " I raised my eyebrows in question. There was pin-drop silence in the room. " What about Tizheruk? Did I not get his scales before? Who else was able to do so? We achieved so much yet you have little faith. I know that Kaka’s death is a blow. I spoke to him before he left. He was holding Tabular with his powers and it was already poisoning and eroding his bones. He sacrificed himself for the Yakuza yet you are here wanting to wage war with immortal beings, the King of wolves, the Freki wolf, and the Tizheruk. "

" No Isamu. We shall not " Elder Amaya affirmed.

"Are we done here?" I raised my voice.

"Yes," Sayuri said. " Elder Kanji is the one who wants to cause trouble "

"You are both mated to the Aria hence you would be biased." Elder Kanji raised his chin.

" And you brought death to the Yakuza while we just acquired mates. Who is the one at fault here ?" Sayuri growled.

" Isamu, thank you for attending the meeting. I apologize if any of us offended you. I know that some members want to use my brother’s death to wage war. But I will never allow it. As long as Isamu is our leader, I will stand by his words and commands" Elder Amaya stated.

" So will I, " Sayuri added.

" And anyone else who dares cause trouble, or put the Yakuza in danger, I will deal with them myself. Just because I took a rest does not mean that I am weak. I dare anyone to challenge me" I spoke and then walked out of the hall.

Once in the car, I called Zineb and informed her that I wanted to meet her on the cliff by the forest. I drove to the edge of the forest like a madman, got out of the car, and then moved with vamp speed to the cliff.

Minutes later, I scented Zineb and turned around waiting for her to appear. She was always a sight to behold as she majestically walked over.

"What happened to you? " She demanded.

"I missed you" I responded.

"Deflection never works on me" She retorted.

"I had a nightmare last night. And today the Yakuza council pissed me off. It seems Elder Kanji and Kaka want to cause trouble."

"Just kill them and get over it. They exposed us and are now attacking us with words and causing trouble in the council ."

"I wish I could," I muttered as I walked over the edge and sat down. "I just want to spend time with my mate and not be scolded"

Zineb smiled and then followed suit and sat down. Being near her made my throat ache and her eyes twinkled.

"You look hungry." She pointed out "You need to feed"

"Tell me something I don’t know," I whispered.

"Since when have I stopped you?" Zineb muttered and then moved closer to me.

"I don’t want to feed you out of anger," I closed my eyes.

"As your mate, this is what I must do for you. You can rely on me even when happy or angry." Zineb assured me.

" My beast is on the edge," I muttered.

"You are not only stubborn but difficult. The reason I am pushing is because I know you are suffering and I need my mate stronger than ever so that they don’t doubt your strength" Zineb asserted.

The conversation petered off after that. I grabbed Zineb and sank my fangs on her neck. She moaned and her head fell back as her lips partner in the most erotic gasp. I was pulled in a wave of drowsy pleasure, fuelled by the anger and every pricking fiber and nerve in my body expanded. I felt the scent of Zineb juices flowing from her mound and when I retracted my fangs, her eyes were golden and she seemed on the edge.

I lowered her to the ground, pulled her pants down, placed my head between her legs, and then dove in to lick her sweetness. My eyes spotted a vein that popped next to her thigh.

" Your veins call to me " I whispered as I lifted my head and struck the vein with my teeth. Ziben’s scream of intense pleasure was the encouragement I needed to feed.

"Isamu" her voice rose, echoing in the mountain and I regained my strength after a long time of holding back. Her blood sipped into my veins as Zaria her wolf rose and merged with Isamu my wolf. Our beast became one and I felt powerful once again.
