A week later, Hiada and I opted not to take the boat that Alexander provided and swam back to Chugach and headed to the Island in the pearl farm. When we arrived, we found Toten and Lucian waiting for us.

" You are finally here" Lucian smiled warmly and Toten nodded.

" As you can see, safe and sound, " Haida teased Lucian.

" How was your honeymoon?" Lucian said.

" Insightful and an eye opener. Do you want to share notes ?" Haida walked over and laced her arm on his.

" I would love to," Lucian stated as they walked away from us. Toten’s jaw dropped in shock and then he turned to me with an embarrassed look.

" Does she remind you of someone " I deflected.

" Oddly she does," Toten chuckled. " She is as outspoken as Lovita Aria"

" You are mated to him and John Tharn" I pointed out.

" You are the first one not to cringe when you mention it. Other pack members are either shocked or baffled by the mere fact that Lovita Aria has a mate and more sore two mates" Toten laughed.

" It is surprising but not unheard of. Mates are fated by the gods. We can only accept and make do" I spoke as we turned to follow Lucian and Haida.

We got deeper into the farm and then Haida removed the bag of pearls that she had carried from the pearl nest. She then placed each pearl in the oysters all over the farm. Using her sea magic she embedded them as she moved to each corner.

" I have never met a shifter like her," Toten confessed.

" Neither had I. It was the first time and I was speechless. " I confessed.

" Is she strengthening the oysters?" Toten asked with piqued interest.

"Yes. She is protecting the oysters with her sea magic to ensure that they produce quality pearls" I spoke up.

" Mmmh. That will be great, " Toten nodded.

" Are you rebuilding the old house? " I pointed at the ongoing works of the house that seemed to be ongoing.

" Yes. Lovita, Tharn, and I decided to live on the Island. We shall build our lives here" I spoke up.

" Why not on the mainland?" I wondered out loud.

" Because Lovita feels that Lobo committed so many crimes. It will take years for the pack to trust him. Hence he opts to keep off until they do trust him. For now, he will serve Alpha Conri as his beta the best way he knows how" Toten explained.

" Why do I feel that there are other concerns?" My eyes bore at him.

" There is the matter of the Wolfe bond. Lovita is afraid that his siblings will try to use him and that is why he wants us to help him seal it with our mating bond. " Toten whispered.

" I can help" I found myself responding,

" You can? I would appreciate it. I don’t want the pack ever doubting Lovita and making comments behind our backs. " Toten stepped forward. I could see the desperation in his request.

’" But he needs to agree to it " I added.

" He will. I know that he will" Toten emphasized.

" Good. What about Tharn?" I chuckled.

" Well, he is a handful but he makes it worthwhile " I laughed.

" Haida is the same," I confessed.

" I wonder why everyone thinks that you are hard to approach. All I can see is that you are a true leader and caring friend. No wonder Conri and Lucian think so highly of you. Even though you are the Serpent sea god, it’s an honor to be in your presence" Toten piped.

" Why did you get so serious?" I chuckled.

" Just putting myself back in place. You are after all Tizheruk Bering" Toten’s eyes twinkled.

" Pfft" I snickered as Haida and Lucian walked toward the spot where we stood.

" It’s done," Haida announced. " In a year the pearls will be ready for harvest. I bet it will be the finest quality Chugach has ever seen. "

" Thank you so much, " Toten spoke up.

" We better go back. There is a storm coming " I announced.

" Why not spend the night at the Freki mansion and then go back tomorrow" Lucian insisted.

" I don’t mind it. It will be good to catch up with Conri, " I agreed.

We left the pearl farm thereafter and took the boat back to the mainland. Lucian’s driver and bodyguards were waiting for us. We boarded the cars and they drove us to the Freki mansion.

Conri must have sensed my presence as he rushed to the door and even chuckled when he spotted Haida. She rushed to embrace him fondly and he chuckled as he rubbed her head.

" Since when are the two of you close?"I laughed as Lucian pulled me into the mansion.

As usual, dinner at the Freki mansion was always hearty and full of laughter. We spent the night chatting along, drinking, and sharing our stories.

" I have a feeling that both of them will be pregnant soon, " Conri whispered as he took a walk to the meadow in the woods while Lucian and Haida did the dishes.

" Is that why you dragged me here so that we could not be heard?" I chuckled.

"Precisely. Your mate’s scent had changed. I can swear that her fertility has increased. "

" You mean that she will lay eggs soon? I know." I nodded and Conri’s eyes widened.

" Why the fuck are you not in a panic?" Conri demanded.

" Because Haida has accepted it " I shrugged my shoulders. " But that is not the case for you and Lucian"

" Exactly. He is scared and so am I" I confessed.

" He has the omega gene. What is there to be scared about ?" I demanded.

" I don’t know what to do. This is new for me " Conri huffed.

" I know for a fact that you are the shameless one and now you are showing signs of fear " I burst out laughing.

" You are meant to help me and not laugh at me, ’’ Conri grunted.

" Fine, fine. I will stop teasing you. I just feel that you don’t need to worry. You are the king of wolves and he is a Freki wolf. Your pups will be born and will be the most powerful wolves in history. What is there to be concerned about ?" I pointed out.

" Evil being, greedy being, trouble makers. The list is endless " Conri responded.

" I see. You are worried about things that have not happened. " I turned to walk back to the Freki mansion.

" Come on," Conri laughed as he matched my stride.

" Do you have feedback from Tochigi?" I asked as we approached the front porch.

" Nothing as yet. But Isam did marry Zineb. And I heard that Lobo is keeping Sayuri as his lover. But I suspect it’s because she has powers and Lobo is just using her " Conri informed me.

" I heard a conversation with Toten. He is worried that Lobo and Zineb might use the Wolfe bond to blackmail him. Hence he is in a hurry to seal it with the mating bond between him, Tharn, and Toten. " I updated Conri.

" I was not wrong about Lovita. He is a protective wolf and will ensure Tharn and Toten are safe" Conri nodded.

"I decided to help them seal the wolf bond, ’’ I announced as we walked into the living room. Lucian and Haida stopped talking and turned to me.

" What did you say? Whom are you helping ?" Haida demanded.

" Lovita, Toten, and Tharn" I piped as she pulled me down to sit next to her.

" Why ?" she pressed as Conri sat next to Lucian.

" Because he wants to avoid trouble. So it’s better to help Lovita seal the Wolfe bond before Lobo and Zineb make their move. " Conri responded.

" Will Lovita agree?" Lucian asked.

" That is what Toten needs to ensure. " I answered.

" It has been a peaceful couple of weeks. Can it just remain that way?" Haida huffed.

" That is why he needs to do it as soon as possible," Conri answered.

" Are you spending Christmas in Chugach? " Lucian asked.

" Unfortunately Alexander had already prepared a Christmas ceremony. We can’t sit this one out " I informed Lucian. " But we shall be here for the new year."

" That is great. Godmother will be happy to have you here. I know that Anisha and Tala are already planning for the party. I wanted this year to be different from last year’s party" Lucian stated.

"You hate going to parties, " Conri chuckled.

"Meaningless gatherings you mean " Lucian answered with a smirk.

’" It is always better to have a close family " Haida agreed.

" Then let us make the New Year party worthwhile" Conri grinned and the wall burst out in love and laughter.

We settled in bed an hour later, in the Freki mansion’s bunker as I pulled Haida into my arms and settled under the crook of my neck.

" You smell heavenly Bering. Goodnight" She murmured.

" Sweet dreams my queen," I responded as I patted her back and we both fell asleep.
