Chapter 228: REVENGE

ALEXANDER’S POV

After Chary was shot, I stood by the window, and looking at the sunset rise at the window, I felt a pang of fear in my heart. I called Tizheruk and informed him of my plans and requested him to keep Chary safe until I was back.

My intel had told me that it was the bullet-laced poison assassin that had been hired to take me out and then the bullet hit Chary. I slid the window blinds closed and turned the lights up on a mild glow as I sat at the desk at the corner of the room.

I went down to the drawer that was second down on the right-hand side, typing in a code, scanning my thumb, and turning a key. The drawer unlocked and I pulled out a white file holder that held a stack of papers at least one inch thick.

Flipping open the file, sifted through all the reports that I had been given on the assassin, subject photos, subject victim photos, medical evaluations (Physical and Mental), observation reports, and so much more. This man was skilled and the person who hired him was Senator Fabgas.

While I was looking through everything, a small knock came on the apartment door.

"What?" in response. My voice was gruff and annoyed, though I didn’t mean to sound at all cruel to whoever stood on the other side of the door. I walked to the door and Tizheruk stood at the other side. I ushered him into the office as I locked the door and he stood by the window.

" I wanted to check up on you, wanted to make sure you are okay about this plan. Tizheruk stated

"...Yeah, I’m okay. I know this can work...I am afraid if the assassin remains alive he will come for me again and this time, the bullet will hit home." I raised my hands in annoyance and walked to the desk.

"Haida and I will remain guard. But you must promise me that you will come back alive or else Chary will complain to Haida and I will not hear the end of it."

I rolled my eyes before scrapping the file back together retrieving another smaller one from the drawer and relocking it. I picked up the bag I had packed for the journey and walked out of the office together with Tizheruk.

I left Alaska by jet and arrived in the cold Russian mountains twenty-four hours later. Once I arrived, I checked into the hotel that I had booked online and then slept for another twelve hours. I walked out of the hotel, pulling the hood over my head, and headed to the east street avoiding all the cameras.

I got into a cab and headed for the first address that I had been given for the assassin. Once I arrived, I sneaked in, got to the apartment number, placed the bombs on the door, set the timer, and left the apartment. I heard the explosion that hit the apartment as I moved from street to street, hiding. I removed my hood threw it into an alley and got into a cab to the train station. I took the underground train and thirty minutes later came up to the center square. I walked into the mall, as the underground parking of the large mall had a car that I had organized as the escape car, and before I could move, the hairs on the back of my head told me I was not alone

A large man appeared, with white hair with thick eyebrows. He held a knife in one hand and then he said " You piece of trash. I will end your life. How dare you blow up my son’s apartment?"

" How did you find me?"

" I followed your filthy serpent scent."

He then attacked. I danced away from the blade, narrowly dodging the swipe even as he tried to keep an eye on his leg movement. I needed to kill the bastard and then rush out of the mall before any more men arrived. Based on the Russian man’s build I knew that he was a boxer and even more sore a shifter wolf. My best plan was to keep him on his feet until he got tired.

"I’m gonna kill you!" He seethed again.

I removed the knife from my boot as he attacked again. I pushed on forward the first attack and seemingly without effort, the stranger blocked the blade with his knife sparks flying where the two blades connected. We jumped back at the same time.

It took three minutes before another knife whizzed past me and landed directly between his eyes. I turned around and was surprised to see Kaito and Kyeito standing behind me with smirks on their faces.

"You couldn’t find someone your size to pick fights with?" Kaito is titled.

" We need to go. ’’ I rushed to the Range Rover, clicked the doors open, and jumped on the passenger’s seat as Kyeito got in the driver’s seat and Kato sat behind.

" You are lucky that Tizheruk called us and asked us to shadow you," Kyeito stated as he drove the car out of the center mall.

I smiled leaned back on the seat and closed my eyes" Thank the seas he sent you. That old man was hard to deal with. "

" Better get to your hotel, get your things. The jet is waiting for us " Kato spoke up and then we rode through the heavy traffic and got to my hotel. I checked out of the hotel and we drove to the airport, boarded the jet, and left Russia.

I slept on the flight and when we landed in Sitka, I instructed the driver to take us to Senator Fabga’s office. When I arrived at his office, the guards looked shocked to see me and I placed a finger on my lips to silence them while Kato looked menacingly angry standing next to me.

The guards gave way we walked into the building, went up the lift, and arrived at Senator Fabga’s reception area. The receptionist was about to call him when Kato snatched the phone and told her " You better leave now if you value your life".

She scattered and disappeared in the elevator. We silently walked into Senator Fabgas’s office and then I found Senator Fabgas on the phone laughing cynically. His words made us stop short to listen in.

" If we want to succeed, Governor Alexander must die. Now that he draws power from Tizheruk, he will become too powerful and no one will be able to stop him"

" Are you for real ?" Kata spoke up and then Kyeito joined in.

Senator Fabgas dropped the phone and I chuckled " Oh Fabgas you are too greedy"

" Who let you into my office ?" He growled.

" I let myself in. " I laughed and walked over to sit on the couch as Kato closed the door.

" What do you want?" He seethed.

" He wants your head. It would make a masterpiece in my home in Japan, "Kyeito laughed.

" Who the fuck are you ?" Senator Fabgas raised his hand and pointed at Kyeito.

"Does it matter? All I know is that you sent an assassin to shoot at my brother here and his mate got shot and poisoned" Kato stated.

" I have no idea what you are talking about, " Senator Fabgas’s voice shook.

Kato moved even before we could all blink and then grabbed Senator Fabgas’s neck and his claws went right into his jugular and then blood oozed from his neck and he dropped dead.

" Good riddance" I spoke up and we worked out of the senator’s office and headed to the Governor’s mansion while my team cleaned up the mess at the senator’s office.

When we arrived, Haida was pacing by the entrance, and when she saw our car she beamed with happiness and clapped, racing back into the mansion.

" She has too much energy "Kato laughed.

We got out of the car and walked into the mansion. Chary was seated in the living room, her brows furrowed and her mouth was pulled into a thin line of displeasure. My eyes darted to Haida and Tizheruk, who stared at me innocently.

" You are awake ?" I piped as I approached her slowly.

" You fucking moron, what the hell did you do ?" She seethed at me.

" We better leave them alone" Tizheruk spoke up as he dragged Haida along and chased Kaito and Kyeito from the room.

" I went after the man who shot you. ’’ I raised my chin and walked over to her and went down on one knee so that I was on eye level with her.

" You could have died, " Chary growled at me.

" You almost died, Chary. I knew the assassin would come back. I did what was necessary" I growled.

She placed her hand on my cheeks and pressed a light kiss on my lips. " I am glad you are back home."
