Chapter 147: THE CALM SEA

Swimming in the high tides of the sea, we arrived at the edge of the Alaska beach by Mount Chugach late at night the next day. Getting out of the water, I shifted, ensuring that we were both clothed.

"How are you able to extend the shifting ability to me? Is it because we are mated ?" Haida asked, and I nodded.

We left the beach and walked towards Elder Zaya’s home. Haida’s eyes widened when we got there and she asked "Is this your home? "

"No. It’s Elder Zaya’s home. She gave me the keys" I explained.

Once we got into the house, we both took a shower. Luckily Zaya’s house had a phone and after calling her to tell her we had arrived safely, she insisted that I use her card until I was able to access my bank. Hence I proceeded to order new clothes for Haida and a new phone and sim card replacement. When I got to the kitchen, I found Haida was already preparing dinner.

I sat by the corner table and watched her with keen interest, savoring her every move, how she smiled as she stirred the pot, how she pushed her hair back when she cut the vegetables, and how she bit her lips as she watched me watch her.

"You are making me nervous, Bering," she whispered.

I stood up from the small table, walked over to her, and pulled her into a passionate kiss. She moaned into me and pressed her body to mine. Ending the kiss, I left the kitchen without a word while I could hear how out of breath Haida was and I walked to the end of the house, where Elder Zaya had a beautiful garden to cool off.

An hour later, the doorbell rang, and I left the garden and approached the front door. Opening my senses, I scanned the person who was doing the delivery. Listening to his heartbeat and senses, I was assured that he was not dangerous. I opened the door and picked up the packages. I walked to the bedroom and arranged the clothes I bought for Haida and then connected my new phone. I made a call to Conri and Lucian was the one who picked up " Tizheruk, Conri is in the shower"

" How are you, Lucian ?" I responded.

"Good. Is something the matter?" He asked.

"No. I just wanted to let him know I was in Alaska. Am staying at Elder Zaya’s house," I explained.

"Oh. Okay. Why are you not coming to the mansion?" Lucian proceeded to ask,

"I am here with Haida, "I stated.

There was silence at the end of the phone and then I heard Lucian chuckle, "Congratulations, Tizheruk. You are finally mated "

"Let Conri know I called, " I said and disconnected the call. " He is getting influenced by Conri"

"Who?" Haida’s voice rose from the door.

"Lucian" I laughed.

"Dinner is ready. Come, eat, "She said and disappeared from the door.

I stood up and followed Haida to the dining room, and she had already set the table. We sat down and ate in silence and the comfort of each other’s company. To keep busy, I cleared the table while Haida did the dishes. It awed me how in synch we had gotten in just a few hours.

"I am tired. I am off to bed, "Haida announced.

"Go ahead, I will join you later," I responded, pulled her for a hug, and pressed a kiss on her forehead.

Once alone, I walked to the mirror by the corridor, removed my shirt, and there on my chest was the tattoo of the Sea serpent god. The symbol of protection, supernatural power, and revival. I turned back and the tattoo of Dolf was still intact. I felt all the memories of the past lives came rushing in and in that instant, my phone buzzed. Checking the caller ID, it was Conri, and I connected the call and he yelled, " What the fuck is wrong? "

"What do you mean?" I croaked.

"The connection bond between you and Dolf just buzzed and Dolf is pacing up and down. "

"It’s the sea serpent god tattoo. It has been activated. My memories have returned," I explained to Conri.

"Wow. It’s because you are now mated to Haida," Conri responded.

His words made me burst out laughing and my body shot from the force.

I walked back to the house, ensured all the doors were locked, and then went up to the room. I found Haida on the bed, a book in hand, and she was fast asleep. The bed dipped as I settled on it and pulled the book from her hands. Haida automatically moved her body next to mine, and her hands went around me.

"You took too long, Bering. "She murmured groggily.

Her voice sounded so sexy that my body hardened immediately. I rubbed her hair and whispered, "I am here now. Just rest" But the truth was I wanted to open her legs wide and bury myself in her. Instead, I chose to let her rest and for the first time in my life, I accommodated someone and it felt so good.
