LUCIAN’S POV

One day later, at almost midnight, Conri and I were enjoying the house to ourselves. Elder Zaya and Eliana Due had left for Canada.

"We need to get away for a while, now that the dust is almost settling and Luna Elijah is in charge of the pack, "Elder Zaya had stated before she left.

"I also need to disappear for a while. Who knows what that bastard Fridolf might be up to" Eliana seethed.

"You need to be careful. I bet he will send someone to follow you, "Conri voiced his thoughts.

"Dont you worry? I have my security team accompany us on this trip," Elder Zaya assured us as they left for the airport.

I stared into the night sky and enjoyed the peace that came with it. Conri had made dinner and then suggested we have a nightcap at the backdoor patio.

"What have you frowning like that?" Conri demanded.

"I want to call Tizheruk" I turned to Lucian. He nodded, removed his phone, put it on speaker, and made the call. He answered on the first ring, "What do you want?"

"Can" t you even speak nicely to your cousin" Conri teased him.

"I know your temperament. You would not call unless it’s urgent," Tizheruk retorted.

"Lucian wants to speak to you, "Conri laughed.

"Hi. I am worried about your safety. I have a feeling that Lobo might get wind of your location with Hunter being in Canada. "I explained.

" That is a possibility," Tizheruk answered. "That is why I hired extra guards and even got the airport security to notify me if there is anyone suspicious that would fly in from Alaska"

"You better turn that villa into an impenetrable fortress. Godmother and Eliana Due are on the way," Conri snapped at him.

"Dont worry. The way fully mated Hunter and Tala, I doubt he will let anyone hurt his family anymore. "Tizheruk chuckled.

"You just couldn’t wait to deliver the news huh" Conri laughed.

"What about you? When will you mate with Haida? "I spoke up.

It was the disconnection of the call after my question that made Conri, and I burst out laughing. It seems Tizheruk was not ready to mate with Haida.

"Haida is a breath of fresh air" I smiled warmly at Conri

"That is true. He needs it after being lonely for so long. " Conri nodded.

The sound of cars arriving at the parking lot made Conri stand up, and I could feel how he opened up his senses and pushed his power out.

"Who is it?" I asked as I stood up.

"Hybrid wolves. Half wolf, half vampire, " Conri stated.

"What" I yelled excitedly as I rushed to the front door. I could feel Conri’s steps behind me as I pushed the doors wide open and there stood my mates from the battalion I was assigned to in the Middle East.

" Well, well, well, is this the playboy shifter who was a rebel? " The commander of the unit smirked at me.

" Come on in, " I said and sidestepped as they walked into the mansion. Conri stood at a distance, his body stoic, on high alert. " Welcome to my home"

"Thank you, Lucian," Commander Abram’s voice boomed. Oliver, Graham, and Jerusha, who were both members of the battalion accompanied him. These were trained assassins and were good at their job.

"I will not ask you how you found me since I know too well that you are good at what you do, "I chuckled.

They all stared at Conri and stared back, looking fiercely defensive.

"This is my husband Conri Dolf," I spoke up.

Their eyes widened, and they stared at me in shock.

"I bet that little piece of information was overlooked while you found out where I lived, "I chuckled and walked over to Conri, lacing my hand with his.

"Husband?" Oliver’s eyes widened as he pushed his spectacles up.

"You are married? "Jerusha gasped.

"Not surprised at all. You Husband is handsome "Graham chuckled.

"I can’t read your husband’s wolf. I can sense him, but it seems power is blocking me from reading him. It has never happened before, "Commander Abram stated.

"Conri Dolf is no ordinary wolf," I beamed. "To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?"

"Fridolf Due summoned us. He sent us to see Lobo Aria and guess what ?" Oliver snickered.

"He gave you a kill order, "I laughed.

"He asked us to kill you, "Commander Abram spoke up.

"That is not a surprise, "Conri chuckled.

"You expected it?" Oliver asked Conri.

"Yes "Conri nodded. "He is a coward who will do anything to get rid of Lucian"

"Care to tell us what is going on?" Commander Abram asked.

"Let us all have a sit "I informed them.

Once they sat down, I narrated everything that had happened since Conri got out of the mountains.

"Your Alpha is sick," Oliver growled.

"How do you know Fridolf wolf?" Conri asked.

"He saved our lives one time ten years ago," Commander Abram stated." When you just left the battalion, we were sent to Istanbul, and we were ambushed. Fridolf saved our lives "

"But you do know that Fridolf is not right in the head," Conri stated.

"We discovered much later. So he called for a favor and when he mentioned your name, we knew he had to look for you, " Oliver spoke.

"You are hybrid wolves, " Conri spoke up.

"You are straightforward. I like that "Jerusha laughed.

"Born as vampires and bitten by a wolf, "Oliver explained

"You knew it?" I turned to Lucian, and he nodded.

"So what will you do now that you have been given a kill order?" I asked.

"Take Fridolf out and take his head to Lobo Aria as a warning, " Graham growled.

"I agree" Conri nodded.

"You are a ruthless husband, " I chuckled.

A small smile played on Conri’s lips and then he asked, " Would you take on another job?’

" What are you asking them for? " I interjected.

" In Japan, there is a hybrid wolf called Isamu. " Conri brushed my statement off. " I would like him dead"

"Isamu, the guardians of the Yakuza?" Oliver gasped.

"Yes. He wants Lucian and will use any method to get him, "I explained.

"Why does Isamu want Lucian?" Commander Abram demanded.

"Dont say it, "I growled in warning.

"Because Lucian carries the Freki Omega genes. Hence, he wants to make Immortal babies with my mate, " Conri growled.

"Say what?" Oliver choked while Jerusha coughed, but Graham burst out laughing.

"Omega?" Commander Abram was holding back a laugh while Conri grinned like a fool.

"Yes," Conri nodded.

"Why the fuck did you say such nonsense? " Lucian growled at me.

"You know I never speak nonsense, "Conri responded with a serious face.

"We shall take on the job, "Commander Abram stated. " Lucian is one of us, and we shall not allow anyone to mess with him.

"Thank you, " Conri responded. " Give me the bank details, and I shall deposit money right away.

" Your husband is rich?" Oliver asked.

"I have enough money, " Conri responded before I could. "I am not living off Lucian. I have lands, properties, and money in the bank. As an only child, I inherited my parent’s wealth"

"Good. Now my mind is at peace. " Graham patted his chest.

"Half of his wealth was his wedding gift to me" I blushed while I spoke up.

"A gentleman should always do right by his mate," Conri affirmed.

"What kind of wolf are you?" Oliver asked Conri.

"One of a kind. Someone said he is the King of Wolves," I piped.

"What kind of nonsense are you sprouting" Conri snapped.

"King of wolves, there is a legend about the wolf that can hold the power of the Adora crystal. The legend says that the wolf is powerful enough to wield Adora’s power and neutralize the Tabular crystal’s power. "Graham narrated.

"What? Where did you hear it?" I leaned forward and asked.

"Back in Japan a few years ago," Graham informed us.

"Do you know how the wolf can use the Adora to neutralize the Tabular crystal?" I demanded.

"Yes. When there is no moon, the Tabular crystal can be willed. If the mindset of the person wielding the crystal is an evil wolf, it will succeed. But if the Adora is around the person wielding the crystal, they can penetrate the person’s mind and subdue him," Graham explained.

"So that is all that you need to do. We need to find where Lobo Aria will be. That way you can penetrate his mind and subdue him, "I turned to Conri and stated.

"What did you say?" Graham stood up and pointed at me.

"Oh shit, did I say that out loud?" I whispered, and Conri nodded.

"No wonder I could not read him. " Commander Abram stared at Conri in awe.

"You mean to tell me your husband is the king of wolves?" Oliver smiled excitedly.

"No" Conri raised his hand and shook his head.

"He has the power of the Adora crystal, or did I hear it wrong? "Graham demanded.

"He does. " I nodded and Conri groaned while the rest of the men in the room’s faces were filled with shock.
