Chapter 910: Killing the Giant Hamster

Chapter 910: Chapter 910: Killing the Giant Hamster

"To hell with your Siberian Giant Hamster! Has a hamster at your house ever stood three meters tall? This is clearly a giant brown bear!"

Everyone present, aside from Wen Wen, wanted to curse Jidro, but they had to survive first before blaming him.

Apart from Luan Xing and the sullen little guy, most people were slowly backing away. Two had already been so terrified they collapsed to the ground, and another two were playing dead.

Facing a hungry brown bear, there are a few interesting tactics the Federation civilians have.

The first is to play dead, hoping the bear might leave you alone, but unless the bear is full or not in the mood to attack, this is just seeking death.

The second is to run faster than your companions. This can indeed help you escape from a brown bear, but... this place is virtually inescapable, and those few hallways look suspicious. What’s beyond them could be far more dangerous than the brown bear.

The third, and perhaps the most impressive, is to face the brown bear directly, shouting loudly to show human spirit as the spirit of all things—this way, you can at least die with some dignity.

Nobody wanted to die, so the only feasible option now was to kill this brown bear!

Among the dozen or so present, the brown bear was somewhat intimidated. Though it had been hungry for days, it didn’t charge at the crowd immediately.

Even wild beasts are wise; in this era, many ferocious beasts know humans are not to be trifled with.

Even when starving and attacking humans, they often target the isolated, rarely directly attacking a group of a dozen people.

So it growled twice in a show of menace and slowly backed toward the hallway, intending to look elsewhere for food first.

Seeing the brown bear retreat, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but Luan Xing had already raised his handgun, aiming at the bear.

"Everyone, we can’t let this thing go. The box says food, meaning this brown bear will be a critical food source for us. If we can’t keep it, we’ll starve and eventually become this thing’s meal."

But after Luan Xing spoke, only the security captain with a gun, the sullen little guy, and Geng Xingshu were prepared to cooperate with him. Wen Wen pretended to shiver and hid in the back, secretly observing everyone’s expressions.

"But if you fail to kill it and just anger it, causing someone to die at its hands, can you take responsibility?" a man in a suit with gold-rimmed glasses retorted to Luan Xing.

Luan Xing wanted to kick him, but restrained his anger, signaling with his eyes to Geng Xingshu and the others, as the four of them encircled the bear.

In some fantasy shows, people could use a handgun to headshot enemies dozens of meters away.

But in reality, hitting a target ten meters away with a handgun already indicates training; hitting someone from twenty meters is commendable.

As for power, handguns are passable for shooting humans but for ferocious beasts...

Forget a brown bear; even a cow might not fall if you empty an entire magazine into it.

So when aiming at this three-meter giant, it’s possible all three magazines could be emptied, and this beast would still be lively enough to tear someone apart.

Their actions were extremely risky, but the three with guns weren’t ordinary people; they had fought real battles and terrifying monsters, so they weren’t too panicked.

Geng Xingshu quietly touched the inside of his wide right sleeve, where he wore his newly developed exoskeleton armor, a rare actual combat test for it.

The brown bear was blocked, giving a few warning growls, and when the group got close enough, it could no longer contain itself, preparing to charge at Geng Xingshu.

Among the four, Geng Xingshu looked the most cowardly, so of course, it aimed to attack him first.

Just as it was about to move, Luan Xing fired a shot, with the other two following simultaneously. Bullets accurately hit the brown bear’s head, soaking it in blood.

At that moment, had Luan Xing not insisted the gun be given to someone experienced, the assault might not have hit the bear’s head and could have even hit Geng Xingshu instead.

Yet still, the brown bear didn’t fall immediately, roaring and charging at Geng Xingshu.

It couldn’t understand why it suddenly hurt so much; the pain only fueled its ferocity, wanting to tear its enemy before it apart!

The security captain and Luan Xing’s faces turned grim, but they couldn’t save Geng Xingshu in that situation.

Li Wei, the sullen little guy, grasped a dagger in reverse, poised to rush in and engage the rampaging bear, but halted after just starting.

Because he saw Geng Xingshu revealing a mechanical arm covered in a blue-black exoskeleton!

Geng Xingshu took a deep breath, his legs wobbly yet forced to steady, then he closed his eyes and punched into the brown bear’s mouth.

The bear’s teeth shattered against the iron, and its jaw was dislocated and deformed. After the punch, the giant bear swayed, stumbled a few steps, and collapsed on the ground.

The earlier gunshots had some effect; the bear relied solely on its animal tenacity for a final struggle, while Geng Xingshu merely delivered the last blow.

Geng Xingshu stared blankly at his hand, then cheered happily, shocked by his punch’s power.

Then came intense pain, as if his whole skeleton would collapse. Colliding with a beast this enormous, even with his exoskeleton glove holding, his body couldn’t withstand it.

Fortunately, the first equipment box sent had some medicine and bandages, which a woman who had worked as a hospital orderly used to treat Geng Xingshu. With medication and two days of rest, Geng Xingshu would recover.

During this time, Geng Xingshu constantly checked his gloves, knowing that in such an environment, this exoskeleton glove was his lifeline.

After the four hunted down the brown bear, everyone gathered to celebrate, showering them with praise. Especially the man with gold-rimmed glasses, who pledged to follow Luan Xing’s lead from now on, showing no sign of his initial desire to stop their actions.

After the bear incident, everyone truly realized this was a brutal survival game, where death’s threat loomed over every careless moment.

And Wen Wen noted every person’s expression, watching carefully and remembering.

The first day passed quietly and steadily as they devised a way to start a fire, splitting the bear’s carcass and cooking part while making the rest into dried jerky.

The bear weighed over 300 kilograms, and its meat, well-used, could sustain them for an entire month.

However, Luan Xing wasn’t optimistic. The masked individual mentioned sending five "food" supplies daily. After the first day’s supply was handled, it’s sufficient for twenty people a month, so what would the future supplies be?

The terrifying predators!
