Chapter 868: Chapter 868: Tally Harvest

Moments later, Jack gave up trying to draw attention and began to focus on mending his injuries.

With his strength at the True Sequence, although his movement was currently impaired, he only needed a few days to recover some degree of mobility. By then, seeking medical help after leaving here wouldn’t be impossible.

However, just at that moment, Jack lost the sensation in his only remaining hand. Though it was still physically there, he couldn’t help but subconsciously ignore its existence.

Jack’s eyes widened as he realized what had happened—what he had always feared had come to pass!

Had he been whole, he might have avoided this, but now he was vulnerable and at the mercy of others.

Desperately, he urged his powers, but to no avail. His sense of presence kept diminishing until he reached a point where he couldn’t even detect himself.

And then Jack vanished...

Disappeared forever...

...

When the main force of the Hunter Association arrived at Rabbit Village, this little settlement began bustling with activity.

Red Clothes and Gray Mane, the two giant wolves with collars around their necks and various supplies strapped to their backs, dashed back and forth within the camp.

They had now been recruited by the Hunter Association, becoming a pair of Demon Hunters...

Well, Demon Hunting Wolves.

This was their own request, for during the undead calamity, they recognized the limitations of living in seclusion and thus wished to venture beyond Qing Ridge Plateau.

Truthfully, they mainly realized the importance of having strong allies, and the Hunter Association was the most reliable in the world.

As monsters of the Disaster Intermediate Sequence, they had the ability to transform into human form, so living within human society posed minimal difficulty.

Transporting supplies wasn’t a task required by the Association; they chose to do it willingly. These wolves possessed none of the pride typical of wolves, and instead, their temperaments resembled those of huskies.

With such a calm, stable place for the Demon Hunters to heal, the situation rapidly improved.

Meanwhile, Wen Wen took this opportunity to sell a large amount of healing medicine, gaining a variety of resources in return.

The medicine was made from special Other Shore Flowers, cultivated by Aker Aru, effective for various injuries. Most importantly, it had low production costs and high yield, leaving the Sanctuary unable to consume it all.

When the Foundation comes into the open in the future, this potion can become one of the flagship products for business with the Hunter Association.

True Order Ranger Eightfold and Grandmaster Brababa both received the best treatment.

However, Eightfold was too severely injured, and even if healed, would retain some chronic issues, likely preventing prolonged combat in the future.

As for Grandmaster Brababa, he suffered more psychologically.

He couldn’t believe that the Little Ming Wang he served as a God Child was actually a monster from the Inner World, making the past years feel like a nightmare from which he couldn’t awake.

He didn’t want to accept this reality, wishing to remain in that false dream.

But he had to pull himself together, as the Ming Dynasty Esoteric Buddhism had suffered a severe blow. If he didn’t step up to lead, it might vanish from history.

Wu Liugen frequently pestered Brababa, often saying things like, ’Buddhism and the Esoteric Sect share the same origin, so let’s support each other through difficult times.’

It seemed he wanted to use the resources of the Ming Dynasty Esoteric Buddhism to better develop the long-weakened Buddhism.

Though Brababa cooperated with Wu Liugen, Wen Wen could still see the deathly look on his face.

At this point, Grandmaster Brababa was merely a tool, barely alive for the survival of the Ming Dynasty Esoteric Buddhism.

If ever the sect no longer needed him, he might collapse instantly...

After doing what needed to be done, there was no longer a place for Wen Wen in this vast camp.

So Wen Wen returned to his room, entered the Sanctuary through the bathroom.

Now Wu Liugen, Wang Duobao, and Chu Wei and others had regained their mobility, but Wen Wen instructed them to wait until they were out of Qing Ridge Plateau and no one was around before entering the Sanctuary.

In this crowded setting, if the four survivors disappeared simultaneously, it might arouse the Hunter Association’s suspicion.

As for Wen Wen himself, he was not so restricted.

He needed to sort through the gains from this operation.

The main achievement this time was, of course, solving the big problem of Wen Li.

However, the three items received in the loot distribution were also very much to Wen Wen’s liking.

Aside from Wen Li’s corpse, which could be used to create a duplicate.

Using the additional memories acquired from the Jianzhen Spring, along with the power of the Nameless King Singer, and infusing it with new life.

Under the premise of resolving Wen Wen’s own hazards, he could create a powerful duplicate.

However, the process of creating a duplicate was complicated and couldn’t be completed overnight.

Then there was the ownerless Black Blade he picked up, remarkably sharp— even sharper than the Blood River Sword, sublimating the concept of sharpness to a whole new level.

While the Blood River Sword could slice through steel like tofu, this Black Blade could cut through some Superpower Items like tofu, and when swung with full force, it even felt like it could cut through space.

But aside from sharpness, this blade had no other attributes; it couldn’t bear power or emit blade energy.

If an attack came, this blade could slice it in half, but the split attack would still hit the body...

While playing with it, Wen Wen discovered an interesting phenomenon: when grabbing the Black Blade with the Catastrophe Gloves, it would merge into the gloves and completely disappear within Wen Wen’s body.

Then, at Wen Wen’s will, the blade could slice out from any black part of his body, even the eyes!

Initially, Wen Wen speculated that the blade was related to the Sanctuary, but after careful research, he found this wasn’t the case.

The blade simply had the ability to merge with pure black objects; it wasn’t the Catastrophe Gloves housing it, but because they were sufficiently black, it could nest within them.

Jack hadn’t discovered this feature, probably because he hadn’t used the blade on anything as pitch-black as the Catastrophe Gloves.

The last item was the Undead King’s Crown that Wen Li wore on his head.

Upon thorough inspection, Wen Wen confirmed there were no hidden dangers and proceeded with research.

This crown had magical effects, able to awaken corpses, turning them into Undead Creatures, with some level of control over them.

Furthermore, the bound Undead Creatures could transmit their visual input to the wearer’s mind; it was through this function that Wen Li knew Wen Wen had arrived at Qing Ridge Plateau.

Though sinister, with this crown, Wen Wen had more options to explore.

At the very least, Xu Hai’s Puppetry Technique could be removed from Wen Wen’s ability list, letting Xu Hai focus on making figurines for sale.

And its ability to grant life to corpses could be useful in creating duplicates.
