Catastrophe Containment Facility -
Chapter 793: The New Door
Chapter 793: Chapter 793: The New Door
For now, Wen Wen had designed these two modes.
Once the Sanctuary had enough people, Wen Wen might also open other spaces in the Mirror Labyrinth for a battle royale mode or a PK mode.
Using the Mirror Labyrinth to select Containment Officers would focus on those superpower users who had not yet joined the Hunter Association.
Because once the Mirror Labyrinth was officially in use, the speed at which the Sanctuary recruited Containment Officers would significantly increase. Officers from the Hunter Association could be used, but they could not make up the majority.
Otherwise, is this a Sanctuary or a branch of the Hunter Association?
Therefore, a balance among all parties must be maintained to ensure that there were many snitches from many organizations in the Sanctuary but not all snitches.
For selecting Containment Officers, Wen Wen planned to hand over the task to Jin Kela; Wen Wen himself had no interest in being tangled up with the ’admissions office’ duties.
After all, that guy was always idling around on the first floor of the Sanctuary and seemed to have done this type of work before; he was very professional in this area.
Additionally, Wen Wen would reduce the frequency of personally recruiting Containment Officers, trying to ensure that most officers went through the trial of the Mirror Labyrinth to effectively improve the overall quality of Containment Officers.
Unless it was someone like Feng Ruixing, a special Chao ability user who could assist the Sanctuary, or someone like Heng An, a superpower user with extraordinary talent, everyone else had to endure a trial before entering the Sanctuary.
After finalizing these plans, Wen Wen couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride; if he had not used the combat ability equivalent to a True-order Master, even if the Mirror Labyrinth was repaired, he would not have started such a large-scale selection of Containment Officers.
In the coming period, he would focus on expanding the scale of Sanctuary’s influence and enhancing the strength of the Containment Officers, enabling the Sanctuary’s power to spread throughout the Capital District.
Once Wen Wen’s Dark Matter level reached True Sequence, he could use the Cataclysm Prison state outside, and then he would discuss with the Hunters Association, turning the Sanctuary into an openly recognized organization.
As for future visions, just thinking about them would suffice; what Wen Wen needed to do now was the most crucial step: connecting the Mirror Labyrinth with the Sanctuary.
Without full control over the Mirror Labyrinth, Wen Wen couldn’t confidently use it.
Although Jidro was profoundly loyal to Wen Wen, odds are he wouldn’t do anything tricky, but this piece of the Mirror World was still highly mysterious to Wen Wen. No one knew what terrifying monsters were hidden within, so Wen Wen had to be thoroughly prepared.
As for how to connect the two, Wen Wen had already figured it out long ago.
That was to open another gate belonging to the Mirror Cube at the Sanctuary’s lowest level!
At the Sanctuary’s bottom floor, many special architectural Containment Items hung in the past. These Containment Items did not originally belong to the Sanctuary but were connected over time.
Now that most of these architectural Containment Items had been detached, leaving many empty spaces, Wen Wen planned to place the Mirror Cube there.
Although he had never specifically operated it, Wen Wen did not think it would be too difficult.
He held the highest authority over the Sanctuary, while Jidro controlled the core of the Mirror Labyrinth and had already integrated the Mirror Labyrinth into one entity, like an architectural Containment Item in a special space.
All necessary conditions were met, and connecting them was just a matter of course.
Wen Wen brought Jidro to the Sanctuary, then switched to the Cataclysm Prison state. Observing the slightly changed appearance of Wen Wen, Jidro once again bowed deeply, at about a 125-degree angle...
"Great master of the Sanctuary, your power has grown stronger, bringing you one step closer to complete control of the Sanctuary, humble Jidro..."
Wen Wen immediately placed his hand on Jidro’s shoulder, not giving him a chance to continue his licking skill, and directly led him to the lowest floor of the Sanctuary.
The red and black-toned circular room instinctively made Jidro feel oppressed.
From the door of the Punishment Room, terrifying screams continuously emerged; there were still several monsters suffering inside.
After hearing that sound, Jidro stood behind Wen Wen with his head bowed, and his attitude became even more humble.
He certainly did not want to end up thrown in there one day, enduring endless torment.
Wen Wen walked to the sides of the Execution Room, Punishment Room, and the Outer Fog doors, placing his hand on them to sense finely. Moments later, he lit up with a slight smile.
"So it’s this simple..."
Wen Wen removed his hand, and suddenly a keyhole appeared on the wall. Then he said to Jidro:
"Bring out the core of the Mirror Labyrinth."
Jidro nodded briskly, cupping his hands together where a silver orb of light appeared, gradually morphing into the ghostly image of a magic cube.
Wen Wen reached out his hand, and black chains enveloped the ghostly magic cube. Moments later, the chains retracted, leaving Jidro holding a somewhat antique silver key.
"Go open that door."
Swallowing nervously, Jidro approached the keyhole and inserted the silver key, whereupon a silver door instantly materialized in front of him.
With a gentle tug on the key, Jidro felt a force extend from the key into his body, spreading from his body into the Mirror Labyrinth, establishing a solid connection.
The door then opened naturally, revealing a scene that Jidro found somewhat familiar— the core room of the Mirror Labyrinth.
"Great master, I have opened the door for you."
As he spoke these words, Jidro felt a sense of loss for, although he still could control the Mirror Labyrinth, he merely possessed the control; the item essentially no longer belonged to him.
"Well done, I must reward you..."
Wen Wen thought it over, realizing he didn’t have anything to actually reward Jidro with.
After all, this guy was a creature from behind the mirrors and didn’t need any material comforts.
"I reward you with the opportunity to lick my shoes!"
Jidro’s face fell. Even though he often bragged that even licking Wen Wen’s shoes would be an honor, it didn’t mean he actually wanted to lick shoes.
"Heh, just kidding... How about I send you a wife?"
"Send a wife?" Jidro was puzzled.
With a knowing smile, Wen Wen said to Jidro, "You remember the Mirror Nightmare, right?"
"I do, I do." Jidro licked his lips.
He had been craving the Mirror Nightmare for a long time, but last time Wen Wen hadn’t allowed him to do anything excessive, so he didn’t dare to do anything.
But now, with what Wen Wen implied...
With a mischievous smile, Wen Wen said, "After I captured Guo Shengye and the Mirror Nightmare, I locked them both up in the Sanctuary, right?"
"At first, they got along like a model couple in adversity."
"But you know what it’s like in a cell,"
"As time went on, the more they saw of each other, the more they grew to despise one another, and so their relationship crumbled, and now they’re like enemies."
"Now, the Mirror Nightmare is single. If you want to pursue her, I can give you some convenience..."
Jidro exclaimed in surprise, "Master, you are truly magnificent!"
From the lowest level of the Sanctuary, the sound of shoe licking echoed...
