Chapter 702: Chapter 692: Wonderful Use of Mist
Stein was dealt with, and the Mist Box was sealed; Wen Wen finally felt a weight lifted from his shoulders, with things nearly wrapped up to satisfaction.
But upon closer consideration, it seemed like Wen Wen didn’t actually gain much from the ordeal. Using Stein’s time ability likely came with fatal consequences, and the Mist Box merely added to the Sanctuary’s defensive capabilities—a negligible addition since Wen Wen had never seen anyone trouble the Sanctuary to begin with.
So after all his efforts, Wen Wen had nearly nothing to show for it, which left him feeling rather stifled. He would have been better off using the Bow of Gestation to impregnate a couple of monsters and observe any useful outcomes.
The more Wen Wen thought about it, the more shortchanged he felt, nearly unable to sit still. He then immediately activated his Catastrophe Prison Supervisor state to see if there was a way to utilize the dense fog outside the Sanctuary.
Since it was part of the Sanctuary’s protective forces, it stood to reason that Wen Wen, as the owner of the highest authority in the Sanctuary, should have no issues controlling it.
So, in a cell specifically set up for practice, Wen Wen began his research.
Half a day later, Wen Wen’s hearty laughter echoed from within the cell.
"This detective is truly a genius, to think this thing could actually be used like this."
Inside the cell, Wen Wen stood on a white cloud, flying haphazardly without any apparent pattern.
This white cloud was shaped from the compressed mist outside the Sanctuary, and without wearing the Catastrophe Prison Supervisor’s Robe, summoning the mist would fill a room of about a hundred square meters.
If he used this mist to create monsters, they would only be about Disaster Intermediate Sequence strength, nearly indestructible but of little use to Wen Wen himself.
However, if he condensed the mist into clouds, they could carry Wen Wen as he flew. The speed was slower than Wen Wen flying by himself, but the advantage was that it didn’t exhaust him at all, and he didn’t need to control it.
In some respects, these clouds were more convenient than the plane Wen Wen planned to buy; even flying with Tao Qingqing, Three Cubs, and others wouldn’t feel the least bit cramped.
But a plane was still on the shopping list. Ever since he was young, Wen Wen had dreamt of owning his own aircraft, along with dreams of tanks, warships, spaceships, and Gundams...
If Wen Wen donned the Catastrophe Prison Supervisor’s Robe, then the amount of mist he could summon would cover a two-hundred-meter radius, enough to create a huge monster with True-order fighting capability.
However, the Catastrophe Prison Supervisor’s Robe was now associated with the Catastrophe Level Powerhouse, Black Cross, in the Hunter Association, so Wen Wen preferred not to use it in the presence of others.
Having secured a True Order Monster that he could freely command, Wen Wen’s mood improved considerable.
A joyous spirit accompanies good fortune, so what better time for a surprise test on the Sanctuary’s monsters.
After the assessment, Wen Wen, holding a meter-long, as thick as a winter melon, ferocious Wolf Fang... pointer, meted out "tough love" discipline to several of the failing monsters.
After their punishment, the monsters thanked Wen Wen for his "correction," prompting a satisfied smile from Wen Wen.
Suddenly feeling inspired, Wen Wen put away the bloody Wolf Fang Club and went to the reception room, converted from a cell.
The visitor was the bald assassin Barcode, one of Wen Wen’s recruits, who brought with him a letter.
After reading the letter, Wen Wen nodded in approval. The long-drawn process of taking over the Coding Organization was finally coming to a close.
...
In the southern part of the Capital District, in Shouquan City, there is a place called Qingyuan Mountain.
Surrounded by mountains on three sides, at the center lies a clear lake with a lush Lake Heart Island, making it a small tourist spot near Shouquan City.
Locals knew what the place was like, but that didn’t stop outsiders from visiting, so it somehow kept its business going.
On the surface, a scenic area, but in reality, it was a property of the Coding Organization and a retreat for its members.
The lady selling souvenirs was once known as Poison Widow among industry insiders, and the squid-grilling chef with a cook’s hat had a legendary record of annihilating a whole gang for a dog.
However, Qingyuan Mountain had ceased operations for the day, as two groups of fierce and sinister figures faced off in the square of Lake Heart Island.
On one side, sitting to the left, was the bald assassin Barcode in the seat of honor, behind him a few elders of the Coding Organization, along with a Foundation representative, and behind them a cadre of weirdos in red and black robes.
They were, of course, Monsters detained by the Sanctuary, but Wen Wen hadn’t let them out this time to fight; it was more like... oh, standing as a show of force for Barcode, and as long as nothing unexpected happened, they just needed to stand there like wooden stakes.
The other group’s attire was much flashier, regardless of their appearance, they were decked out in bright and colorful clothing, epitomizing the word ’absurd.’ They were superpower users from the Secret Organization known as Absurd Words, gathered here to determine the ownership of the Coding Organization.
Among the group of demoniacs from Absurd Words, the Fabricator was the only one who could pass for normal.
He was well-dressed in a gray suit with slicked-back hair, but upon closer inspection, it became apparent that this fellow’s mouth was drawn on.
He had no mouth!
The Fabricator had always been eyeing the Coding Organization, but since he couldn’t fathom the depths of the monsters backed by the Foundation, he didn’t dare start a direct conflict with the Foundation.
Regarding the Sword Qi Crystal, the Fabricator was in the dark, so he conjectured that the Merry Troublemaker was struck down by the mysterious forces behind the Foundation for coveting the Coding Organization.
His guess was wrong, but the outcome wasn’t, and actions based on this mistaken assumption spared him a deadly fate.
Normally, the Fabricator would be patient enough to keep playing this game with the mysterious forces behind the Foundation, but lately, he received exhilarating news.
This was that the de facto ruler of Absurd Words, the True-order Master Prankster King, had recently been bedridden and was expected to pass away within a year.
The next leader of Absurd Words would be selected from the remaining three Upper Sequence figures, and the Fabricator was one of them.
To seize control of Absurd Words didn’t just mean gaining power. It also meant the chance to establish direct contact with their worshiped Evil God, receiving bestowed strength to break through the Upper Sequence limits, and becoming a new True-order Master.
Therefore, the Fabricator had to start preparing and couldn’t waste any more time on the Coding Organization, deciding to end this meaningless dispute.
He wanted to trade all of the Coding Organization’s resources, which were in his control, to the Foundation in exchange for certain things.
If the Foundation disagreed, then he’d still stop the conflict and use his share of assassins and resources to build a new, smaller Assassins’ Organization.
The Fabricator glanced at Barcode and then spoke loudly, "I’ve come here personally, let your leader come out and negotiate with me."
No words came from the fake mouth on his face, but the voice indeed emanated from his body, which looked somewhat eerie.
