Chapter 654: Chapter 644 - Bold Idea

"If what you’re saying is true, why did I fail after advancing in Assimilation and turn into what I am now?" Dr. Feng still didn’t believe Ais Wakaz’s words.

Ais Wakaz revealed a sinister smile, "Speaking of that, I was actually quite surprised myself. After all, according to my plan, all of you were supposed to advance smoothly. Your transformation is entirely due to the nature you’ve been repressing, which erupted at that moment, rather than a consequence of my strength."

Dr. Feng’s expression changed slightly as he said, "I don’t believe you."

"Every Assimilation failure is controlled by a Remnant Spirit, and since it’s a Remnant Spirit, it must carry fragmented memories. Apart from your twisted personality, what else can prove that you are the consciousness of a Remnant Spirit?"

Listening to Ais’s words, Dr. Feng finally changed color. He had always believed that he was a personality born from the failed assimilation of Feng Rao, but now it seemed he had always been deceiving himself.

His smile grew wider and wider, eventually revealing a grotesque and manic grin. He remembered everything, he was always a pervert who enjoyed cultivating plants from humans, relishing the twisted beauty of animals transforming into plants. The original him was just a false persona created to deceive his teacher and his brother. Once this pretense was pierced through, his whole aura changed.

After laughing, Dr. Feng asked Ais, "I’m curious why you chose to move against me now. We’ve had many opportunities while together, and most of the time I was not well guarded against you."

Ais explained, "My body, your abilities, Feng Bei’s strength—they are all one. As soon as they merge, it is the most powerful aspect of Supernatural Power that will dominate the consciousness."

"And I happen to be the weakest in terms of Supernatural Power. Although I have Upper Sequence strength, it is based on memories of past abilities left in my body. Compared to the two of you, my Superpower is weak. And because we originate from the same source, we can’t harm each other, so I have been staying by your side since you grew to the Upper Sequence, waiting for the moment you became even weaker than me."

Dr. Feng, turning an ear, asked, "So your next target is to devour Feng Bei, right?"

Ais Wakaz nodded, "Correct, simply by absorbing you, I have regained the strength of my heyday. Once I devour Feng Bei, who is much stronger than you, I can overcome the chasm that I otherwise could never cross."

Hearing that Feng Bei was stronger than him, Dr. Feng felt displeased but it was pointless to argue at this juncture. Thus, he said to Ais, "My doubts are cleared, now there’s one last question—why are you telling me all this?" He knew Ais didn’t like giving away his information.

Ais Wakaz revealed a diabolic smile, "I am telling you this because I want to make a deal with you, for you to assist me in devouring your brother."

"Heh, why on earth should I help you?" Dr. Feng said with disdain.

Ais patiently explained, "Because of you, I cannot exert my full strength, and I can’t get rid of you in a short time. If in the meantime, Feng Bei finds shelter or dies accidentally, I’ll lose the chance to go even higher. So, as long as you promise not to trouble me for a while, I will give you an opportunity."

"What opportunity?" Dr. Feng asked, his eyes lighting up.

"I can sign a contract with you. Once I advance to Catastrophe Level, I will create a body for you, try to remove your consciousness, and then do what I can to restore your current strength."

Dr. Feng’s lips twitched with anticipation. Upon realizing that his consciousness wouldn’t be killed by Ais because of the Black Chains, he knew that even though he was in this form, he hadn’t lost the initiative.

With Ais Wakaz’s abilities, it was entirely possible to recreate his body, giving him the chance to make a comeback. Perhaps he might even collect the experimental data he’d set up in Tongling City...

Then, Ais Wakaz brought out an ancient piece of parchment, and on his left shoulder he formed an arm of Dr. Feng. He allowed Dr. Feng to control this arm to sign a contract with him. Watching the contract turn to ash in the air, both breathed a sigh of relief.

A contract isn’t something that can simply be agreed upon verbally; otherwise, there would be no swindlers in the world. Even the most commonplace contracts are consumable Superpower Items that require the presence of a Catastrophe Level existence to be valid. And contracts binding even to Disaster True Sequence are particularly rare and valuable.

After the contract was signed, Ais said to Dr. Feng, "I plan to strike at Feng Bei during the chaos set off in Tongling City in three days. You just need to stay out of my way by then."

"No, not in three days, but in ten hours," Dr. Feng said, his lips curling. "How could I possibly tell others the precise time? Only when they’re caught off guard does my plan have a chance of succeeding."

"That’s so like you."

The two exchanged an evil laugh, then simultaneously turned away, and a set of bony plates grew on their shoulders, blocking their view of each other.

As much as they could come together to strategize, just one glance at each other was revolting. Had it not been for the contract, they would have attempted to kill one another without hesitation. However, they were unaware that their malevolent scheming was being eavesdropped upon all along, as Wen Wen’s chains were inside Dr. Feng’s body.

If Ais knew about the chains, he would never have discussed such matters with Dr. Feng. Regardless of whether the chains limited Dr. Feng, there was no way Dr. Feng would ever reveal the chains to Ais Wakaz.

Wen Wen didn’t find it unbelievable that Ais Wakaz could split off his abilities because he had witnessed the miracle of transferring powers himself back in Assimilation Town, where the entire town was an example.

However, Dr. Feng’s false reporting of the event’s timing was unexpected. If it hadn’t been for the complications with Ais Wakaz, Wen Wen might even have been duped into negotiating some terms on the assumption the event would stop in three days.

"Now that I know the timing of Ais’s attack, along with his target, and there are traps I’ve left in his body... maybe I can be more daring."

Wen Wen’s eyes sparkled brighter. He had once managed to ambush and capture a vampire when he had nothing at all, so now with all these advantages, why couldn’t he try hunting down a True Order Rank monster?

The contract between Dr. Feng and Ais Wakaz merely stopped Dr. Feng from actively causing trouble for Ais, but Wen Wen could use the Black Chains to force Dr. Feng to interfere, creating a flaw in Ais Wakaz’s plan!
