Chapter 600: Chapter 589: The Terrible Xiuluman
"Xiuluman... It knew about the existence of the Sanctuary, so it must be like Aker Aru, a prisoner who escaped from the Sanctuary a thousand years ago!"
Wen Wen took a deep breath; he knew just how much those former prisoners hated containment officers like him, so a storm-like assault was bound to happen soon.
And this creature was likely stronger than Aker Aru, so escaping from its clutches wouldn’t be easy. Wen Wen might have to hide inside the Sanctuary to find refuge.
"But why would this creature appear here? Yueshan City is sealed off by a barrier. It couldn’t possibly come in quietly, unless it had been in Yueshan City before the barrier was put up..."
"So that mysterious organization in the Southern Border Great Forest really is them!"
Wen Wen almost wanted to slap himself; why had he insisted before coming here that it wasn’t them?
But on reflection, an organization with such formidable power and shrouded in so much secrecy, if not those fugitives, where else could one look?
Apart from a few words uttered previously, most of the sounds Xiuluman made were meaningless, and Wen Wen couldn’t understand what it was saying, only feeling the hostility that seemed almost palpable.
Soon enough, Xiuluman cut the chatter. Several of its eyes shone brighter than the others and shot several beams of different colored light at Wen Wen.
With his nerves on edge, Wen Wen narrowly dodged these beams, and looking back, he saw that the spots hit by the beams were completely destroyed.
The spots hit by blue beams turned into a pile of ice shards; the green beams dissolved areas into a sticky liquid; the red beams melted them with high heat...
"It can launch attacks of different attributes simultaneously, and the sheer power of these attacks is terrifying; none is something I can withstand!"
Seeing the power of these beams, Wen Wen didn’t hesitate to run; he wasn’t about to go head-to-head with this bizarre creature.
Xiuluman didn’t chase Wen Wen immediately; the eyes that had emitted the beams lost their color, then shriveled and cracked before being absorbed back into its body. Its tar-like body wriggled for a while, and new eyes grew out.
After completing this process, Xiuluman’s body began to transform rapidly, taking on an aerodynamic form similar to an aircraft fuselage, with two sets of tar wings stretching out before quickly flying towards the direction Wen Wen had escaped to.
Transformed like this, Xiuluman resembled a supersonic fighter jet as it pursued Wen Wen.
It seemed to sense Wen Wen’s location directly, flying in a straight line to his position. Any obstacles it encountered during the process were disintegrated by its body, presenting no obstruction to it.
As Wen Wen weaved through buildings and realized he was almost caught by Xiuluman, he cursed viciously:
"What the hell is that thing, more disgusting than a drunkard’s vomit? Running like this isn’t a solution; I need to give it a taste of its own medicine."
Wen Wen stood up and, facing the direction from which Xiuluman was approaching, threw a throwing spear right at it, hoping to test Xiuluman’s reactions.
The spear pierced through Xiuluman’s body, but it didn’t travel far before disintegrating into a heap of scrap metal on the ground.
Wen Wen gasped in shock, his eyelids twitching: "Forget it, I better keep running."
Though Xiuluman’s speed was astonishing, Wen Wen had the ability to move through space, making it not so easy for it to catch up.
Wen Wen continued to run while leaving spatial markers along the way. Whenever Xiuluman was about to catch up with him, he used spatial transference to change directions and kept running.
Actually, Wen Wen could have easily hidden inside the Sanctuary and out of sight, out of mind, but he was on a mission, and simply walking away didn’t seem right.
This monster had little rationality and was extremely enraged, so if Wen Wen were to disappear suddenly, it might direct its fury towards others.
Whether it was the monster released by Wen Wen or other Demon Hunters nearby, they could all be attacked by this creature, and they didn’t have the means to escape like Wen Wen did.
Most importantly, although Wen Wen did not like to endanger himself, his character was not so cautious that he was cowardly; if this creature had attacked him suddenly, Wen Wen would feel uncomfortable if he did not make it pay a price.
Wen Wen wasn’t just running blindly; on one hand, he needed to avoid the nearby Demon Hunters, and on the other, the places he passed through were densely populated with members of the Tiger-like Tribes.
Xiuluman’s flight was straightforward, and any life it came into contact with would be dissolved; Wen Wen relied on this strategy to plague the lives of many decent Tiger-like Tribe members.
...
"Why is it so noisy outside..."
At Yueshan City Center, within a children’s paradise ball pit in an underground mall, lay a white tigress that was three and a half meters in size.
Compared to the odd Tiger-like creatures outside, this tigress looked like a real tiger. It loved the ball pit so much that it had made it its sleeping chamber.
On the left foreleg of the tigress, there was a bone-deep wound that emitted an ominous Qi.
She was also a Royal Changyi Tiger, the mate of the Royal Changyi Tiger that had been killed, the ’Progenitor’ and the mother of Tiger King Jin Dahu from the Tiger-like Tribes!
"Progenitor, it seems superpower users have infiltrated the city. With the king’s capabilities, he surely can handle them all," a petite Tiger-like creature said cautiously.
"It would be best if Dahu can handle it; I don’t want to go out right now..."
During the war with a mysterious organization in the forest, she was severely injured by a mysterious True Order Monster, and the energy on the wound was extremely difficult to clear, so she was still hiding here, healing.
The underground mall was surrounded by a Barrier that concealed its Qi, and the entrances were blocked with brick and stone. Without breaking down the walls, it was impossible to notice this place.
She cherished her own life very much because as long as she lived, the Tiger-like Tribes could continue to expand. Though called a virus, the Tiger Plague was actually a curse.
Only if she lived would the curse persist. If she died, the Tiger Plague virus would lose its infectiousness, and the Tiger-like Tribes would have to rely on natural reproduction to add new members, making it impossible for them to confront humans.
After fiddling with some small balls, the Royal Changyi Tiger suddenly felt uneasy, hesitated for a moment, then laughed.
"I’m really overthinking this; this is just an ordinary place in Yueshan City. Unless someone causes massive destruction in Yueshan City, it’s unlikely they’d find it by chance..."
"But as long as the city hasn’t fallen, where would humans recklessly cause destruction here,"
