Catastrophe Containment Facility -
Chapter 583 - 582: Demi-demon Fiend
Chapter 583: Chapter 582: Demi-demon Fiend
Wen Wen asked in astonishment, "With so many monsters having escaped, and possessing such strong capabilities, it makes no sense that we haven’t heard a peep until now."
The man in the metal suit chuckled and said, "The Sanctuary back then wasn’t as benevolent as you are. Those monsters that managed to escape are probably afraid to reveal their true identities."
Thinking it over, Aker Aru, though he had roamed the world for a thousand years, indeed always kept a low profile.
Moreover, from the way he reacted with shock and anger mixed with a hint of fear upon discovering Wen Wen was a Containment Officer, one could probably guess how terrifying their experiences had been back then.
The thought of dozens of enemies lurking outside, eyeing the Sanctuary, made Wen Wen’s scalp tingle.
Previously, Wen Wen had thought that the influence of his Sanctuary had expanded enough, but if all the Containment Officers were to be assembled for a fight against Aker Aru and his group, his side would likely be wiped out in a matter of seconds...
"The Sanctuary’s strength is still insufficient; the Containment Officers also need to enhance their abilities."
Wen Wen thought of the Mirror Maze guarded by Jidro, and how he might utilize that place to find a way to boost the Containment Officers’ strength.
And Red Beard needed to work overtime too, to ensure that more Superpower Items appeared in the Sanctuary’s shop...
As Wen Wen was pondering, the man in the metal suit answered the third question, "Since you already know my name, there’s no need to keep hiding things from you."
"I was once known as the Iron King, with Catastrophe Level strength, even stronger than you when you were in the Sanctuary..."
"However, in order to contain that monster, a great deal of my strength was drained, so I am not as powerful as before. Only when the Sanctuary has recovered to a certain extent will I potentially return to my original strength."
"The situations of the other two are similar to mine. The woman on the second floor is called Nivea, once known as the Light of Life. The Water Blob on the third floor is the Living Water Spirit, Isweet..."
"What about the fourth and fifth floors?" asked Wen Wen curiously.
The man in the metal suit hesitated for a moment, then said to Wen Wen, "The fifth floor doesn’t have a Central Administrator, and as for the kind of person on the fourth floor, you’ll know when you meet him. He was once called the Demi-demon Fiend!"
Wen Wen, stroking his chin, said, "Demi-demon Fiend... Sounds very powerful indeed."
"As to why we didn’t tell you our identities... we are just remnants left over from a thousand years ago, with none of the strength we once had. What use is there in keeping up the names of old?"
Though the man in the metal suit gave some vague answers, Wen Wen was largely satisfied and didn’t press him too hard.
Before leaving, Wen Wen questioned the man in the metal suit, "By the way, there’s something I’m curious about. What did you do to Aker Aru before? It seems to hate you so much, even went as far as saying it wanted to tear you apart while you’re still alive."
The man in the metal suit thought for a long time, unable to recall which one Aker Aru was, until Wen Wen mentioned Aker Aru’s fondness for planting Other Shore Flowers. Then, he remembered.
"Oh, that’s the little deer. It can cultivate a special kind of Other Shore Flower, and the healing potions made from those flowers are very effective in promoting wound healing."
"Back in the Sanctuary, I allocated some land to it and even found some fertilizer for it to grow Other Shore Flowers, but it refused. So, I threw it into the fertilizer heap."
Wen Wen thought for a moment and felt something was amiss, just beating it up shouldn’t cause millennia of resentment: "If I may ask boldly, what exactly was the fertilizer you mentioned...?"
The man in the metal suit said matter-of-factly, "What else could it be but shit!"
"Shit..."
Wen Wen was at a loss for words, but then again, it made sense, considering before the invention of chemical fertilizers, animal manure was indeed the best fertilizer...
He mourned Aker Aru’s fate for a moment, then began to ponder Aker Aru’s planting ability again—it would be great if the Sanctuary could produce healing potions. Unfortunately, they hadn’t captured him.
Subsequently, Wen Wen visited the second and third floors in turn, asking the same question to the woman in the green light dress, Nivea, and the water tadpole Isweet on the third floor. Their answers were consistent with the man in the metal suit, confirming that Jin Kela hadn’t deceived Wen Wen.
After that, Wen Wen returned to a prepared cell and took a brief rest before taking the metal container from behind and placing it in front of his chest.
He poured all the blood in it into a jar, then cut his own wrist and began to bleed into it anew.
Wen Wen wouldn’t waste the blood that had been poured out; he would put it to another use.
After filling the jar with blood, his body swayed slightly, and then, tapping the metal container, he said:
"I treat you so well, you better make me proud, or I’ll use you for shoveling manure..."
The sword embryo quivered gently; to Wen Wen, this seemed like an expression of fear, but if he could understand, he would realize the sword embryo was actually swearing...
Wen Wen sat down cross-legged, placed his hand under the metal container, and his strength began to seep into the sword, constructing a Sword Qi circuit and transferring his own power into it.
While nurturing the sword, Wen Wen mainly employed the power of ’Dark Matter’ and the frenzy he produced himself. Only through such relentless effort could he forge a usable longsword.
After four hours of tempering, Wen Wen finally stood up.
He opened his phone to contact Barcode and Feng Ruixing and instructed them to come to the Sanctuary.
After his battle with Red Beard, Wen Wen utilized the mark he had left on Barcode to recruit him as a Containment Officer.
When Barcode parted ways with Wen Wen, he ran off to the southernmost island of the Capital District and shacked up with a woman in a fancy hotel, thinking this way Wen Wen would never find him.
The woman had been the mistress of a big shot from the Polar Bear District. During his assignment there, Barcode had killed the big shot but was chased by his body double, which led to a complex love-hate relationship with the woman, ultimately bringing them together.
One night, after finishing, Barcode went to the bathroom to take a dump, only to find Wen Wen sitting on the toilet lid, looking at him with an almost-smiling gaze that nearly scared him to death on the spot.
Under Wen Wen’s terrifying pressure, Barcode agreed to whatever conditions Wen Wen proposed that day, and thereafter, he had no intention of running away again.
Wen Wen instructed him that day to find the new and old lairs of the Coding Organization as well as the locations of all the important strongholds; Wen Wen planned to send people to help Barcode take back the Coding Organization.
However, once reclaimed, the Coding Organization would no longer be an Assassins’ Organization but an operational body under the SRS Foundation!
Therefore, Barcode only enjoyed a few days of pleasant life before he was back in the inland, laboring for Wen Wen...
