Chapter 582 - 581 Three Questions

Chapter 582: Chapter 581 Three Questions

After emerging from that mysterious space, Wen Wen found that none of the people in the carriage were missing.

Hou Muyao barely stood up from the ground, and Xin Xue had just regained consciousness; the others were still completely unconscious.

When they woke up, it was likely that none of them, except Hou Muyao, would remember what had happened.

It seemed that although Wen Wen had fought a fierce battle with Aker Aru in that mysterious space, not much time had elapsed outside.

The flow of time in that space seemed indeed different from the real world; it was a mystery how Aker Aru managed to do it.

Aker Aru had been defeated, so the white mist did not appear in the next train carriage. Those hoping to see The Deceased were crowding in front of the train doors, constantly looking out, some even wanting to come in and question.

Wen Wen ignored them and instead called out Three Cubs, transforming it into a giant snake, frightening everyone back.

Then he made a call to Gong Baoding, "The matter has been resolved. Pick up people at the next subway station. There are a few not-so-strong superpower users on the train; you decide how to deal with them when the time comes."

Afterwards, Wen Wen approached Hou Muyao and said, "A soul that once died, revived in a new body, makes you a special superpower user, so I want to offer you a job."

"A job... What job?" Hou Muyao asked, somewhat puzzled.

Wen Wen patted Hou Muyao on the shoulder and said, "Hou Murong’s dream was to become someone who hunts monsters to protect humanity, wasn’t it? Since you have lived again using his body, don’t you want to help him complete the life he desired?"

Hou Muyao fell into deep thought. Although he had died because of Hou Murong’s dreams, he never blamed Hou Murong.

His own life had already ended, and continuing on following his brother’s path wasn’t such a bad idea.

Seeing Hou Muyao’s expression, Wen Wen nodded and said, "It seems you’re already moved by the idea, so I will come for you in the future."

Apart from Hou Muyao, no one else deserved any special treatment from Wen Wen.

The Xin Xue who was kidnapped by the high school student would show light spots on her body when using her abilities, but the nature of her power was still just enhanced physical functions, and she was too weak at this stage.

Besides her powers, her personality was also like that of an ordinary high school girl; sending her to hunt monsters would in fact be harming her.

A real demon-hunting battle is extremely brutal, and an unnecessary bit of sympathy could lead to death.

As for the Tentacle Woman, her body was already wrapped with Wen Wen’s hair strands. With a movement of Wen Wen’s fingers, she was stripped of the breath of life, her outer nurse’s skin began to melt, turning into a putrid pool of slime.

Wen Wen did not know if she had harmed anyone before, but just for using another body for parasitic purposes, and attempting to implant a new parasite into an innocent nurse, was enough for Wen Wen to sentence her to death.

After sorting everything out, Wen Wen patiently waited until the subway stopped at the station. Seeing that Gong Baoding and the others had already securely cordoned off the area, he directly entered the Sanctuary from the train, disappearing on the spot.

The appearance of Aker Aru had left Wen Wen’s mind in utter chaos; he couldn’t wait to return to the Sanctuary to inquire about the group of monsters that had escaped.

Wen Wen had once been curious whether, when entering the Sanctuary on a train, he would come out on the train or on the tracks.

However, the mechanism for entering the Sanctuary perfectly avoided this issue. When Wen Wen entered the Sanctuary on a vehicle, he would leave behind two spatial coordinates, one on the vehicle and the other in the original space.

When he came out of the Sanctuary, he could freely choose to appear atop the vehicle or return to the space where he had left, depending on the situation.

After entering the Sanctuary, Wen Wen first activated his vampire constitution to heal his scar-covered body, then he found the man in the metal suit.

"Mr. Wen, may I ask what you need me for?" the man in the metal suit standing at the center of the Disaster Area core asked.

Wen Wen, with narrowed eyes, asked, "Iron King Jin Kela... that’s your name, isn’t it?"

The man in the metal suit shuddered, then asked Wen Wen in shock, "How do you know my name? I have never..."

"Today, outside, I encountered a monster that had been imprisoned in the Sanctuary a thousand years ago. I want to know everything about it!" Wen Wen activated the strength of the Calamity Prison Supervisor, putting immense pressure on the metal-suited man.

The man in the metal suit exclaimed in shock, "You’ve seen them?"

Wen Wen nodded and recounted everything he had experienced within that Mysterious Space.

After listening, the man in the metal suit fell into a long silence before asking Wen Wen, "What do you want to know? I’ll tell you everything I can."

Wen Wen held up three fingers, "First, what happened a thousand years ago that caused the Sanctuary to decline and the monsters to escape?"

"Second, how many monsters escaped back then, and what was their strength?"

"Third, who exactly are you Central Administrators, and why have you been concealing your identities all this time? What unspeakable secrets do you have?"

The man in the metal suit cleared his throat. It was too soon for Wen Wen to know some things, but since Wen Wen had already encountered those escaped monsters, there was no point in hiding the truth.

"To your first question, I can’t tell you exactly what happened a thousand years ago. All I can tell you is that nearly a hundred years before the millennium, the Sanctuary spent a great deal of time containing a terrifying entity!"

"At first, there was simply a lack of strength to recruit new Containment Officers; eventually, it became impossible to manage the other monsters within the Sanctuary. After the confinement was completed, all functions of the Sanctuary stopped altogether until your arrival resurrected it."

Wen Wen mulled over the words of the man in the metal suit and then asked, "This terrifying entity, is it of the Calamity Level?"

The metal-suited man shook his head and said, "It’s not of the Calamity Level, but it’s more than Catastrophe Level."

"What do you mean? Isn’t Calamity above Catastrophe?" Wen Wen asked, frowning.

The metal-suited man replied, "In the end, the level of ’Calamity’ is merely a vague rank assigned by humans because they cannot comprehend existences beyond Catastrophe."

"Those referred to as Supreme Overlords of the Inner World, called Calamities, are beyond the understanding of lower life forms. What humans may call Calamity could be a blasphemy to them, and the ’world-ending’ standard for Calamity is not something that only the Supreme Overlords can achieve..."

Wen Wen nodded. Although the man in the metal suit had answered evasively, Wen Wen had understood to some extent.

"To the second question, the number of monsters that escaped at that time could be around a thousand, but not many have survived the thousand years. At most, there are just a few dozen left now."

"A few dozen?"

Wen Wen elongated the word, a few dozen was not a small number at all.

The metal-suited man nodded and said, "A monster that has lived through a thousand years must have at least the strength of a Disaster Intermediate Sequence. There should be a few of True Order Rank as well..."
