Catastrophe Containment Facility -
Chapter 532 - 530
Chapter 532: 530
The Mirror Nightmare, standing over ten meters tall, resembled just an oversized woman.
But in fact, her body was entirely made up of tough mirror shards, possessing a strength comparable to refined steel.
Wen Wen’s ordinary attacks hardly hurt her deeply, and even if a wound was inflicted, it would be quickly filled and healed by the mirror fragments.
Her enormous size made her appear somewhat clumsy, but that was just an appearance.
With that gigantic size as an advantage, she was surprisingly fast; she covered in one step what took Wen Wen several steps.
Each attack she made carried the muscle strength of her terrifying body; compared to her, Wen Wen, resembling a large insect, despite being able to take her attacks, did not find it easy.
In the world of superpower users, size does not necessarily mean strength; a three-meter tall muscle man might be treated like a punching bag by a scrawny individual.
But if there is no dramatic difference in strength between the two, and their sizes differ wildly, size becomes a tremendous advantage.
As the Mirror Nightmare became increasingly familiar with its body, her movements grew more agile, making it even harder for Wen Wen to cope.
Wen Wen now somewhat regretted agreeing to let Jidro absorb the power of the Mirror Nightmare.
Setting aside other things, just spraying the wings of the Mirror Nightmare with white phosphorescent paint would make her resemble a gigantic Angel for cosplay.
Using her as a mount would be far more impressive than that still-untamed Golden Yingying Monster.
Indeed, the Golden Yingying Monster had not officially become Wen Wen’s mount yet and he was already tired of it.
He was someone who loved the new and loathed the old.
After successfully testing out all of the Mirror Nightmare’s abilities, continuing the stalemate in the battle became meaningless.
Fighting this purely brute force creature offered no pleasure beyond being a feast for the eyes; it was better to end the fight sooner rather than later.
Wen Wen snapped his fingers, releasing the three Mirror Image Guards he had captured.
Having personally dealt with the Mirror Image Guards, Wen Wen knew that dealing with them through sheer brute force was tricky; they were just the right counter for the Mirror Nightmare.
The released Mirror Image Guards swiftly regained their vigor and glared fiercely at Wen Wen.
However, bound by the power of the Sanctuary, they couldn’t attack Wen Wen and thus could only target the Mirror Nightmare.
Though the Mirror Nightmare was qualified to inhabit the Mirror World, she had brought too much Contamination to it, making her the target of all Mirror Image Guards.
In terms of expulsion priorities, the Mirror Nightmare rated much higher than outsiders like Wen Wen.
The sight of three Mirror Image Guards left the Mirror Nightmare visibly shocked.
She had contemplated various magical methods Wen Wen might possess, but she had never imagined that he could release three Mirror Image Guards out of thin air.
The Mirror Nightmare had always avoided direct contact with these guards, seeing herself only as a thief in the Mirror World, while the guards were the law enforcers.
That’s why she had put great effort into constructing this maze, to avoid encountering these cold creatures.
She knew that these bizarre beings, much like white blood cells in the human body, were a form of defensive mechanism of the Mirror World.
They were not invincible, but they were inexhaustible!
Moreover, killing too many Mirror Image Guards could trigger deeper defense mechanisms of the Mirror World, against which she had no power to contest.
But now the Mirror Nightmare had no choice but to fight a deadly battle with these three Mirror Image Guards.
Wen Wen found a chair, sat down with his legs crossed, placed a dozen walnuts on the table, and while munching on the walnuts, enjoyed watching the fight between the Mirror Nightmare and the three Mirror Image Guards.
There is no scene in any movie that can look as thrilling as this battle did.
Watching Wen Wen’s arrogant stance, the chest of the Mirror Nightmare heaved violently, but she had no time to deal with Wen Wen.
After transforming into this massive form, her only means of attack was to rely on her formidable body to engage in direct combat.
Even though this stance made it impossible for Wen Wen to handle her, she was also restrained by these Mirror Image Guards.
Because the ability of these Mirror Image Guards was to expel anything they touched into the real world!
If the Mirror Nightmare wanted to touch these guards, she inevitably had to sacrifice some of the mirror shards that made up her body.
By the time Wen Wen had finished these dozen or so walnuts, the battle between the Mirror Nightmare and the three Mirror Image Guards finally drew to a close.
She killed each of the three guards one by one, then gasped heavily while keeping a wary eye on Wen Wen.
Now her body had become uneven and only about seven or eight meters tall; it no longer had that oppressive power.
Somewhat disappointed, Wen Wen said to the Mirror Nightmare, "It’s a pity I didn’t know the effect of these things earlier, I only brought three of them. Otherwise, I could have solved you just by relying on the Mirror Image Guards."
"But this is enough, defeating you now is a piece of cake!"
The Mirror Nightmare threw her longsword at Wen Wen, shouting angrily, "If you have the capability, just try it!"
Wen Wen flicked his arm and deflected the large sword, then stood up and tossed the walnut shells into the teapot on the table.
"You said it yourself, hehe... Dark Matter!"
A black robe instantly enveloped Wen Wen, his golden eyes emotionlessly stared at the Mirror Nightmare, sending a shiver of Cold Qi rushing from the soles of her feet to the crown of her head.
This appearance...
It was the same black robed monster that had disabled her hand solely with its aura!
Though she looked intact, that was merely a faux hand she constructed with her ability; her real hand was gone forever.
Countless Black Chains burst forth from Wen Wen’s robe, which wove together into a large net and enveloped the Mirror Nightmare.
The Mirror Nightmare tried to escape, but the core space of the maze was only so big; there was no place to flee.
So, she gritted her teeth and slashed at the chains with her sword, but from the feel transmitted through the blade, she found that though these chains looked fierce and held many mysteries, they were not on the same level as the previously despair-inducing black robed monster.
Before she could feel relieved, Wen Wen had already taken a deep breath and roared at her.
Along with his shout, a jet-black beam of light erupted from his mouth and hit the Mirror Nightmare directly.
This beam, based on Qin Shuang’s superpower of banter and mixed with the power of Dark Matter and the Faceless Demon, had a destruction level amongst the tops of the Disaster Intermediate Sequence.
Struck by the beam, the Mirror Nightmare’s hard and self-repairing mirror shards were melted by the formidable strength, and she reverted back into a slender woman with silver hair.
After reverting to her original form, the Mirror Nightmare still wanted to counterattack, but she was quickly bound tightly by the dense chains, suspended in front of Wen Wen in a spread-eagled position.
The Mirror Nightmare struggled violently a few times, but Wen Wen’s skill in binding had been perfected from the very beginning; once caught by him, escaping was practically impossible.
So, she looked at Wen Wen with resentment and said, "You’ve won, you can kill me now..."
"But even if I die, the core of the maze remains unbreakable!"
"You’ll never be able to leave this place, and in the end, you’ll join me in death."
