Chapter 524 - 522: The Bathhouse Behind the Mirror
Chapter 524: Chapter 522: The Bathhouse Behind the Mirror
The increasingly frustrated Mirror Nightmare, unable to prevail after a prolonged attack, Wen Wen’s evasion and various probing made his intentions very clear.
Even a foolhardy Mirror Nightmare knew that Wen Wen could see its incarnations outside of the mirror.
But it couldn’t understand how Wen Wen achieved this.
That transparent phantom was something only creatures like it within the mirror could see.
Setting aside how Wen Wen managed to do it, his abilities were already reaching their limit. If he couldn’t take down Wen Wen soon, he would have to give up for the day.
But suddenly, Wen Wen’s body froze in place, standing still with his eyes closed.
The Mirror Nightmare joyfully seized the opportunity, its blade-like palm chopping down towards Wen Wen.
Its attack targeted the soul directly, and no matter how formidable the opponent’s defense, it couldn’t stop an assault aimed directly at the soul.
But it was then that something unexpected occurred.
Within the mirror, Wen Wen’s reflection suddenly transformed into a man wearing a black robe!
This man exuded a dense black energy that burned onto the Mirror Nightmare’s hand like flames.
On the outside of the mirror, the moment the silver phantom touched Wen Wen’s body, Wen Wen’s hand turned into a fearsome ghastly claw, piercing straight through its chest!
All the spinning mirrors came to a halt, and Wen Wen finally saw the situation within the mirror clearly, narrowing his eyes slightly at the sight of the dark figure.
It seemed the Mirror Nightmare’s attack on his soul had provoked a counterattack from that big shot inside him.
The Black Robed Figure snorted lightly, the blackness gradually receding, transforming back into Wen Wen’s form.
The hand of the Mirror Nightmare, eroded by the black energy, had become pure black bone, with no flesh in sight.
Outside the mirror, Wen Wen also completely tore apart the silver phantom, which dissolved bit by bit into the air.
Just as he had guessed, this silver phantom could only be touched at the moment of making an attack.
The Mirror Nightmare was first harmed by the Black Robed Figure within Wen Wen’s soul, then had its silver phantom torn by Wen Wen, immediately weakening it as silver cracks appeared on its body.
It hysterically asked Wen Wen, "What on earth is that? I’ve never seen anything like you before."
"Who are you calling a thing? Can’t you speak nicely?" Wen Wen said while picking his nose.
As for who the Black Robed Figure was, Wen Wen actually wanted to know more than the Mirror Nightmare did.
However, Wen Wen had already dealt with the silver phantom, while the Mirror Nightmare seemed to have suffered only minor injuries and looked like it still had the strength to fight again.
Although Wen Wen had figured out the Mirror Nightmare’s tricks, he no longer had any way to harm the Mirror Nightmare from the outside.
Back at the Hunters Association, he had tried to destroy all the mirrors, but it obviously had no effect.
The only way to resolve the Mirror Nightmare was to attempt entering the mirror space.
If he continued to make the Mirror Nightmare feel helpless, it would eventually have to use this method against Wen Wen.
The hand of the Mirror Nightmare had lost all sensation, driving it to the peak of rage. It knew that this hand was likely lost forever.
After rage came fear; it felt a genuine terror from the bottom of its heart towards the person inside Wen Wen’s soul.
If that person harbored a fatal intent towards the Mirror Nightmare, just allowing the black energy to spread to its body would have been enough to kill the Mirror Nightmare just now!
Since its birth hundreds of years ago until it was sealed, the Mirror Nightmare had never felt such fear.
Wen Wen’s presence represented the greatest danger, and a danger ought to be eliminated.
The Mirror Nightmare steeled its resolve as all the surrounding mirrors emitted a strange glow and then flew together towards Wen Wen.
He knew Wen Wen wasn’t easy to deal with, so he had already begun preparing to summon all the nearby mirrors, determined to trap Wen Wen inside the mirror space.
Even if Wen Wen were stronger, he wouldn’t be able to escape from the space within the mirrors.
That place was a parallel world independent of the real world, without a creature like him who could create an entrance, the difficulty of escaping was akin to opening a spatial passage.
What Mirror Nightmare hadn’t expected was that Wen Wen, having just prepared for a drawn-out battle, would suddenly pounce toward a slightly larger mirror and dive into it!
"What is... going on?"
Wen Wen seemed to have known all along about his ability to trap people inside mirrors, and even took the initiative to let himself be trapped.
Recalling how Wen Wen had directly exposed his identity earlier, Mirror Nightmare felt an ominous premonition rising in his heart.
In a rush, he located the mirror that previously contained You Han, only to discover that You Han was no longer inside the mirror...
"It seems I’ve let a dangerous guy in!"
...
"Tsk, so this is the world inside the mirror, quite fascinating,"
Wen Wen stood before a large mirror, finding it curious that the mirror didn’t reflect his image.
Then, after making a round inside the room, he said to himself with an odd expression, "... This setting, it must be the women’s bathhouse, what an insult to me."
"What’s more outrageous is why I am the only one here!"
Afterward, Wen Wen lifted the heavy curtain of the bathhouse and found out that only endless silver space lay outside; he tried to reach out but couldn’t extend his hand through.
After playing around for a while, Wen Wen kicked a corner of the wall, bringing Jidro out from the Space Ring.
"You’re now inside the mirror space; what exactly is the opportunity you spoke of?"
"Great master, you’ve really come here!"
Jidro burst into a dance, then glanced around inside the Magic Mirror before cautiously placing his hand on the mirror’s surface.
Suddenly, he walked right out from the mirror!
Watching the sleazy Jidro stand before him, Wen Wen was momentarily stunned. Could Jidro actually walk out of the Magic Mirror?
"This... this, I’ve really come out, I’m really out..."
Jidro cautiously took one step and then another, before running around the bathhouse as if he were frolicking.
After running for a while, he knelt on the floor, alternating between bursts of maniacal laughter and wailing, his tears and snot streaming, inexplicably conveying a sense of desolation.
Jidro, since his birth, had always lived within the mirror and had grown accustomed to life inside it.
But his adaptation was based on the knowledge that he couldn’t possibly leave the mirror; now that he had truly stepped out of the Magic Mirror, he couldn’t control his emotions.
Wen Wen didn’t interrupt Jidro; although Jidro was just a Mirror Demon within the Containment Item Magic Mirror, he understood Jidro’s current state of mind.
"You have a Mirror Demon by your side, no wonder you dare to enter this world, but do you think a Mirror Demon alone can let you contend with me?"
Mirror Nightmare’s face appeared above the large mirror, his expression somber as he watched Wen Wen speak.
Wen Wen chuckled and said, "If you really had such strong powers in this world, why would you only watch from the outside after trapping me here?"
He moved close to the mirror, his face nearly touching Mirror Nightmare’s, first blowing a breath at the Mirror Nightmare and then saying with a sneering tone,
"You’re actually weaker here than outside, aren’t you?"
Mirror Nightmare didn’t reply, but his face looked even more unpleasant.
