Chapter 512: Chapter 510 Yan Xiu’s Aberration
It was likely that Yan Xiu’s attempt to sever the connection had enraged the angel with whom he had formed a bond, so it sought to destroy Yan Xiu through this method.
Yan Xiu’s body began to undergo strange changes; his physique rapidly expanded, and his skin began to become transparent, filled with a bright light.
Disordered, complex whispers filled his ears—these were the sounds of angels communicating.
The voice of a single angel would cleanse a person’s soul, but these countless whispers could destroy a human’s spirit, turning one into a mentally challenged being who could only sing the praises of deities!
Yan Xiu’s eyes lost focus, his pupils replaced by white light, but his consciousness was still fighting, trying hard to control himself so as not to be dominated by terrifying instincts.
Just then, with a loud noise accompanied by flying splinters, Lin Lu kicked down Yan Xiu’s door and rushed in.
Seeing Yan Xiu’s condition, Lin Lu anxiously asked, "Axiu, is that you, Axiu... what has happened to you?"
Earlier that day, when she went to capture the Mad Howling Conch, she had noticed that something was off with Yan Xiu.
So after much thought, she decided to check on Yan Xiu after work, but she hadn’t expected to see such a scene.
Yan Xiu briefly regained his senses and struggled to utter a few words to Lin Lu, "Run... escape!"
He did not want Lin Lu to be harmed by himself if he lost his will.
"Hold on, Wenwen lives nearby, he might be able to control your condition!"
After hearing Yan Xiu’s words, Lin Lu hesitated for only two seconds before she quickly exited the room, ran a short distance, and took out her phone to contact Wenwen.
She cared deeply for Yan Xiu, even wishing she could suffer in his place, but she knew how to handle the situation correctly at the moment.
If she insisted on staying to understand everything, then the situation would surely lead to the worst possible outcome.
Only by getting someone capable here quickly could the situation be salvaged, and perhaps Yan Xiu could still be saved.
The moment Lin Lu ran out of the room, a familiar voice sounded in Yan Xiu’s ears—it was the voice of the Heavenly Stone Statue that had accompanied him for ten years!
"A woman without faith, is she the reason you chose to betray? If so, then let the fallen you purify her yourself."
"Wait... it has nothing to do with her!"
An individual’s will is ultimately limited, and no matter how reluctant Yan Xiu was, his consciousness collapsed in that instant.
Suddenly, the world appeared different to him.
The sky was dark and murky, the ground filthy, and the bodies of living beings emitted a nauseating, evil light...
The smell was particularly strong on a woman not far from the doorway.
This world should be pure and immaculate, and all these filthy things should be purified.
On each cheek, Yan Xiu grew an additional face—one sinister and terrifying, the other gentle and serene, while the middle mask remained expressionless.
On each shoulder, he also grew an extra pair of arms, and from his back, two huge wings of light sprouted.
Dozens of white light ribbons, like ribbons, twisted and writhed around him, giving him an indescribable sense of divine oddity.
The transformation took only a second or two, after which he burst through the wall and jumped to Lin Lu’s side, even before Lin Lu’s phone call had gone through.
The pure white light bands, like predatory snakes, struck at Lin Lu, who deftly dodged, but her phone was destroyed by the light bands.
She bit her lip, then her legs swelled, and she quickly ran towards Wenwen’s house.
"I’m a speed type superpower user. I should be able to hold out until I reach Wenwen’s family... I should, anyway."
...
With the information Lin Zheyuan had given him and the holographic projection from the crystal card, Wen Wen had identified two anomalistic points that the Furong River City Association had not noticed.
Both incidents were Disaster Level events. With the strength of a Containment Officer, they should be manageable.
Just as he was about to send out the orders, Wen Wen received an alert from the Water Tadpole.
Before leaving the Sanctuary, he had instructed the Water Tadpole to keep an eye on the situation in Furong River City. It seemed there was a new development now.
So, Wen Wen immediately entered the Sanctuary and headed to the surveillance center.
The Water Tadpole didn’t waste words and directly showed Wen Wen a holographic image.
In this image, a red dot was moving closer to Wen Wen.
Only in the surveillance center could one see the real-time monitoring effects; the holographic projection on Wen Wen’s crystal card was just a snapshot in time.
He stroked his chin, interested, and said, "A monster heading straight for me, this guy is quite audacious. I’d be doing him a disservice not to deal with him properly."
Wen Wen emerged from the Sanctuary, quickly got ready, and charged toward the direction of the monster.
He flew for less than a minute before spotting his target.
It wasn’t that Wen Wen had particularly acute senses, but that the creature was incredibly conspicuous: it shone brighter than an incandescent lamp, impossible to overlook in the dark unless one was blind.
In front of the monster sat Lin Lu who was wryly smiling on the ground. The left side of her shoulder and thigh bore burn marks. Evidently, they were caused by the creature.
The monster extended an arm toward Lin Lu, and a ribbon woven from white light thrust toward her.
Faced with this situation, Wen Wen didn’t think twice; he threw a long spear that scattered the light ribbon, then teleported towards it, his Sword Qi slashing through the air and severing the creature’s arm.
"Are you alright?" Wen Wen asked Lin Lu, tilting his head, his face grim.
She and Wen Wen shared some acquaintances, so now Wen Wen was extremely upset.
Lin Lu shook her head and said, "I’m fine. That creature is Yan Xiu; try not to kill him."
"Yan Xiu?"
Wen Wen looked incredulously towards the sky at the gigantic creature that seemed like an Angel, which had nothing to do with Yan Xiu.
Suddenly, in the central face of the creature, Wen Wen spotted a familiar mask, only covering its forehead, which at first glance Wen Wen mistook for a decorative headpiece.
"How did he turn into this? It gives me a bad feeling."
Yan Xiu’s current form seemed to be purely a disgusting mass of light with no semblance of rationality, possessing only a destructive desire.
Although the Angel of Universal Light was extreme to the point of being nauseating, at least it was possible to communicate with it, unlike Yan Xiu... almost on par with a Containment Item!
Wen Wen scanned the surroundings and his expression darkened.
Already, many civilians had gathered, kneeling on the ground as if praying to Yan Xiu.
And Wen Wen could clearly feel that with their prayers, Yan Xiu’s power was subtly increasing.
"The largest religion of the Federation... what a hassle; I can’t have the battle here."
