Catastrophe Containment Facility
Chapter 462 - 460: The Loot on Wu Wang

Chapter 462: Chapter 460: The Loot on Wu Wang

Although these were Wu Wang’s most treasured possessions, Wen Wen still looked at the three items with disdain.

The arm bone had to be implanted into the arm to replace the original bone to be useful, and Wen Wen had no interest in maiming himself.

As for the pills, they were found in a pair of false teeth, and no matter how effective they might be, Wen Wen was not inclined to ingest something that had been in someone’s mouth for who knows how long.

And as for the last item, the metal rod...

The scene of extracting the rod from Wu Wang’s body was rather unsightly, so much so that Wen Wen didn’t even want to touch it with his hands.

After taking a bath and changing into fresh, fragrant clothes, a shackled Wu Wang roared at Wen Wen with a fierce look, his foul language contaminating Wen Wen’s ears, clearly enraged to the extreme.

Having a metal rod pulled out in front of so many Disaster Level monsters, how could he maintain his cold and proud persona?

He might be the Game Maniac, Wu Wang, a lunatic, but he still cared about his face!

But before he could curse much, Wen Wen casually pointed at his cell, and a soundproof membrane appeared.

Yeah, he had been silenced again.

Ignoring the impotently raging Wu Wang, Wen Wen began to sift through the other items found on him.

Apart from those three deeply concealed items, the only thing of possible use on Wu Wang was a ring, beyond that, there were no other treasures to find.

After briefly examining the ring, Wen Wen discovered that it contained a vast space inside. With just a thought, he could draw nearby objects into the ring or make objects from within the ring appear nearby.

Clearly, this was one of the legendary Space Rings!

All the good stuff from Wu Wang must be in there.

Wen Wen looked at the ring with anticipation, Wu Wang was, after all, a man with plenty of resources, and who knew what treasures the ring might contain.

However, since using the Catastrophe Gloves would manifest golden rings on all ten fingers, Wen Wen chose to wear the Space Ring on his foot.

The material of the ring was quite special; after putting it on, it didn’t hinder his movement, so it was destined to stay on his toe from then on.

Wen Wen wiggled his toe and his inspiration penetrated into the ring, ’seeing’ the situation inside.

The alternate space within the ring was roughly ten cubic meters or so, filled with various bits and bobs.

Wen Wen kicked furiously at the corner of the wall, and all the miscellaneous items materialized.

After rummaging through the pile of junk, Wen Wen only found two somewhat useful items. As for the rest, though they held some value, Wen Wen wasn’t impressed.

One of them was a deck of poker cards, crafted from an unknown material, extremely hard, and by merely holding the card box, he could make the cards return to the box at any time.

With this deck, Wen Wen could easily perform all sorts of card magic, and different combinations of cards even came with dazzling visual effects.

To Wu Wang, this deck of cards was merely a trifle, just something to play games with since the effects were merely flashy lights. They looked nice but were useless in combat.

But for Wen Wen, who had mastered the ability of Poker Dart, these peculiar special cards proved to be a unique weapon.

The other find was a straw doll the size of a drink bottle.

The scarecrow’s mouth was sewn with black thread, and beyond that, it had no other distinguishing features.

After summoning a prison guard for some tests, Wen Wen understood the abilities of this scarecrow.

As long as someone’s hair, or a cloth strip soaked in blood, was wrapped around the scarecrow, a connection could be established between the scarecrow and that person.

Damages inflicted on the scarecrow would directly reflect upon the owner of the hair.

With such an object, one could kill any ordinary person without their knowledge, and it could also be incredibly effective if used on a superpower user.

As for the rest, they were all basic supplies, which were not of much help to Wen Wen.

Wen Wen shook his head and sighed, "Although I had anticipated that some good items would be consumed, it is still painful to see only these trinkets remaining... Luckily, I managed to trick him earlier on."

In the process of being chased by the Winged Servant, Wu Wang must have used various means to escape to the city center.

After all, although Wu Wang was difficult to deal with, all his abilities came from those bizarre puppets and an array of oddities accrued from playing games for years.

Once all these useful items were exhausted, Wu Wang’s own combat abilities were pitifully weak.

Nevertheless, even with only these items, Wen Wen considered his gains quite substantial, so he wasn’t too disheartened. Hence, he stood up, released the restraints on Wu Wang, and left the Disaster Zone Cell.

He wasn’t in a rush to adjust Wu Wang’s personality; aggravating him too much while he was still fuming could have the opposite effect.

Once the anger simmering inside him had settled down, he would then pester him. After several repetitions of this process, Wu Wang would become obedient.

Wu Wang’s abilities were of no use to Wen Wen, and Wen Wen had no need for gaming puppets—as all the monsters in the Sanctuary were his underlings.

Therefore, Wen Wen planned to dispatch him and Weisu together. With Wu Wang’s abilities, he could be much more useful outside than cooped up in a cell.

However, speaking of usable monsters, the current number of Containment Officers seemed a bit low.

With the present headcount, it would be difficult for Wen Wen’s newly established Containment Officer warehouse to operate.

Now that Wen Wen had awakened his abilities and even possessed the strength of a Disaster Intermediate Sequence, with even the Black Cross making a personal appearance, it was rather face-losing to have only a few Containment Officers, merely the big cats and little cats.

One only had to look at the tombstone area to understand— the Catastrophe Area’s tombstone area alone had tens of thousands, and both the Catastrophe Area and Disaster Area had their own dedicated tombstone areas.

It’s evident that under normal operations, the Sanctuary should have a considerable number of Containment Officers, certainly more than a mere ten.

"It’s time to expand the scale; this time, not just one or two... we need more, and the distribution has to be as scattered as possible."

However, recruiting a Containment Officer or two is a trivial decision, but for mass recruitment, Wen Wen needs to plan and prepare thoroughly, not rushing the process.

His former colleague, You Han, who had lost his abilities, could be recruited. Perhaps regaining his powers through the Sanctuary would not lead to him becoming so arrogant.

As for the other Containment Officers, Wen Wen intended to cast a wide net, spreading them across the entire Capital District, to avoid a dense concentration of Containment Officers.

If possible, Wen Wen also wanted to recruit Containment Officers from other districts, thereby expanding the reach of the Sanctuary.

Lost in thought, Wen Wen arrived at the cell door where the materials were stored. Looking at the mountainous pile of supplies, he activated the Calamity Prison Supervisor state and let out a sigh,

"Before recruiting Containment Officers, I have to deal with these materials first. Don’t know how long it will take, it’s somewhat headache-inducing..."
